Oh, I read "Laura Robson". Could've been trickier.

Heather  enjoy Arthur Ashe for the 1st time!

Maria in 2.

Never seen Watson play, just some highlights from her match vs Peng in Auckland. Doesn't seem like a dangerous player, so I'll go with Masha in 2 :)

Watson is no Laura Robson... Watson is much more consistent, but has a far lower ceiling of potential than Robson.

Maria 6-3 6-0.

Great test for Watson this one... I hope she can make it respectable!

Maria 6-4 6-1

I really enjoy Heather's character and play, and It's a really tough draw for her.

Maria is one of the favorites to win the whole title so I guess Maria in two sets, 6-3,6-2.

Instead of calling Marias' draw, a cakewalk, let's call it a "friendly draw"

Credit to Drysdale and MJF on ESPN, while talking about Roddick draw.

Cakewalk has bad connotation

Who is slower? Laura or Heather?

Watson's very quick around the court. It's her great strength. She's essentially a pusher to be perfectly honest.

I remember Heather giving Vera a hard time this year, forcing her to play 3 sets. Hope Maria finds easier ways to deal with her.

It's probably going to be windy as fuck again and since Watson is a player relying on consistency and counterpunching this could become tricky since Maria can't play for shit in windy conditions.

I just hope today's New Haven weather is not going to be replicated in NYC

Watson doesn't have any real weapons and sports the classic British defeatist attitude. Sharapova will maul her in two sets.

Maria cause Hevs is a Brit. Gutting though, I was hoping for Heather to win a match, maybe 2.

Top players usually produces awesome scorelines at the beginning like 6-0 6-2, I think Maria's gonna do the same.

6-1 6-1 is more like it.

I wouldn't say Watson has a defeatist attitude at all actually... from what I've seen, she's pretty scrappy and has a good fighting spirit. In fact, that's pretty much the only thing she has going for her, because her game is very ordinary.

I agree, she is plucky as hell. I think this match has the potential to be quite intriguing:)

Maria in 2 easy sets. I don't think heather has much to beat Maria unless Maria has an off day then Heather will pounce.

Heather is a great girl. She is speedy around the count; anticipates very well and has a great attitude. However, she has absolutely no weapons. This should be a 1 and done by Maria. She will be thoroughly over powered. I'm giving Heather this upcoming off season to see how she will evolve her game. She needs to get stronger and work on her serve or her growth potential will tap out where she is now.

I've only seen her play once or twice, but from what I've seen, she seems a prototype counterpuncher.

Watson Maria's first opponent?
It's gonna be a big stage, big crowd, full court.....mhm.....I can see Maria starting bad, having troubles with a piece of adaptation and I can also see a high spirits Heather, full of will and youth confidence...It can go to three easily, or just one tight set, other one really comprehensive for Sharapova.
