DonŽt think so. IŽd bet a lot of money that the best 13 year olds in the world would beat her in straight sets. Steffi Graf would double bagel her in like 35 minutes. The speed and accuracy of her groundstrokes and the way she moves her beer gut around the court are mesmerizing. Vesnina and Goerges need to be put against a wall and have their naked butts spanked for 20 minutes for losing to Oudin this year.

An unfit hingis beat her sending her back and forth without much trouble... She's not going places.

You're overestimating the poor girl. It might take 15 mins at this point :tape:

To be fair, Hingis also had a win against Serena :oh:

Obviously that was a starmatch in which serena wasn't playing seriously.

You can bet on it that oudin was playing seriously against hingis(why wouldn't she?) and hingis was trying her best to test herself against a top100-player. And Hingis did her in nicely.

I didn't know Oudin got so much... bigger. Speed was her best asset, now she doesn't even have that. I only watched towards the end, but she's not using her slice anymore either? It just seems counterproductive to move so far away from the game that brought her some success.

Shocking performance. She didnt make a single volley and has nothing but a push up middle court.

Yikes.

It's beyond bad  I didn't expect her to be the next world number one or anything, but this is absolutely horrible, and she has made ZERO steps anywhere near improvement in years :help:.

This x1000.

Her slice was a great improv shot that she could employ effectively to keep herself in points. It's almost like once her game started to be figured out by others, she and her coach panicked and tried to totally change her game. Well it backfired. Big time. She should have focused on beefing up her serve and working on the consistency of her two handed backhand (but not completely trashing the slice as she seems to have done). I think it's a good thing she'll have to play challengers pretty soon. Either she'll keep losing until she gets a new coach, or they'll rebuild her game that worked for her from the ground up. Regardless of your opinions on her, I think most people should be able to admit that Melanie is too talented to be struggling this badly and about to fall out of the top 150.

How could Maria lose to this useless player?

Anyway,Oudin needs to RETIRE if she has some dignity left in her. :help: The only way she wins matches these days is if her opponent retires. :o

Are you kidding me on both accounts? Apologies if your comments were facetious, but Masha is SO not relevant here. Not only did she lose to Oudin TWO years ago, during which time Mel was CLEARLY a better player (more beef on her forehand, far better courtspeed, an incredible amount of confidence), Maria was still using her compact service motion, was horribly inconsistent on a windy day with many errors and double faults and had the entire crowd against her. Things change. Pavlyuchenkova, Dementieva and Petrova ALL lost to Melanie that week as well, so they have to answer that same question; it's useless to bring just Masha up literally 24 months later.

As for 'retiring if she has some dignity,' if dignity is what she has she'll keep trying to improve instead of just calling it quits before she even turns 20. Girl doesn't want to quit and that's admirable to me, no matter how bad her results are. It's not like she's had some enormous fall from grace; she was only popular in America for that ONE run when American tennis was already very much on the decline and desperate for post-Williams hopes.

Well we are talking 41 year old Graf, two coaching requests and six challenges here. Back in the day against a prime Graf the match would have been over in the time it took the umpire to say "Oudin chose to receive" and "Time!".
