Singles, First Round

Ricarda Piņeda def. Justine du Partenaire 2/6, 6/3, 7/6(1)
The only host player goes out in the very first round.

Kerstin Van Evangelizaan def. Natalie Stybert 7/6(3), 7/5
The Zimbabwean is the only straight sets winner.

Zoe Adeline Bott def. Kaiulani Tanenbaum 7/5, 3/6, 7/5
A close but low-quality match.

Maria Shapovalova def. Warwunsiri Thanyanithivat-Valquist 7/6(1), 3/6, 6/4
Maria arrived late, and seemed flustered during the first two sets, but got across in the end.

(note: in order to conceal future results slightly computer players and non-sending players were given points, but guaranteed a loss.)

Finals day: Thursday.

Aug 31st, 2011, 09:41 PM
Singles; Quarterfinals

Xhakalinda Saikikimbondwe def. Ricarda Piņeda 6/1, 6/3
Xhaka storms into the semi-final with a high-class performance.

Jawaskaraya Loordinia def. Kerstin Van Evangelizaan 4/6, 6/4, 7/6(3)
Unusual troubles early on, but a lot of match practice for Jawaskaraya

Manon Arcangioli def. Zoe Adeline Bott 7/5, 6/4
Manon had very little trouble here, breaking at key points.

Maria Shapovalova def. Zaelly Ircha 7/6(3), 4/6, 7/5
Maria came through another marathon to take a semi-final spot.

Sorry for delay.

Manon :yeah:

Sep 1st, 2011, 05:33 AM
Jawaskraya

Sep 1st, 2011, 09:34 PM
Singles Results; Semifinals

[4]Jawaskaraya Loordinia def. [1]Xhakalinda Saikikimbondwe 2/6, 7/6(5), 6/3
With Xhaka's ranking and Jawaskraya's efforts in the last match, this seemed a hopeless cause after the first set. She rallied spectacularly though, saving four match points before taking home the tie-break. In the third, she was simply better in all areas of the game.

[3]Manon Arcangioli def. Maria Shapovalova 6/2, 7/6(3)
After defeating Zaelly, Maria's energy tank was empty, and we're set for a Malaysian-French final.

Doubles results; Semifinals

[1]Ircha/Loordinia def. Du Partenaire/Van Evangelizaan 6/7(4), 7/6(3), 7/6(5)
Not content with her earlier marathons, Jawaskraya continued to get through the tie-breaks.

[2]Arcangioli/Saikikimbondwe def. Bott/Tanenbaum 6/4, 7/6(4)
Manon and Xhaka got it slightly easier in the first set and controlled from there.

Singles; Final

[4]Jawaskaraya Loordinia def. [3]Manon Arcangioli 2/6, 7/5, 6/4
Loordinia has played so much tennis but still had another comeback up her sleeve. A fine three-setter for the crowd, who was sturdly behind the French-speaker.

Doubles; Final

[1]Ircha/Loordinia def. [2]Arcangioli/Saikikimbondwe 1/6, 6/4, 6/3
Loordinia came back from a horrible showing in Tobago to win both titles here. Manon lost both finals on a poor day.
