Today after a long and great day of practice I decide to grab a coffee from Starbucks....what happens: while I am walking past a restaurant/bar which is right next to Starbucks I get attacked and bitten by a dog....so instead of enjoying my coffee, I end up in the hospital... :(

Was a real shocking moment.....luckily the dog had all the vaccinations.....the check up in the hospital went fine and I am fine besides a big bruise, theeth prints and scratches on my thigh. I was lucky guys :) anyway, off to bed now. Thursday NYC it is!!! Good night, xoxo

wonder why the dog decided to bite her? Is she scared of dogs? Did she try to pet it? Did it just run up to her and bite her out of nowhere? The dog wasn't a stray or she wouldn't know if he/she had her shots yet... weird story... more details are needed. :)

Tennis players get injured in the most random ways. Table top dancing, falling in a bath, stepping on glass... :bigcry:

People need to put muzzles on their dogs in public. People are always claiming that their dogs would never bite anyone. Well, you never know.

I read not too long ago that Pit Bull's are the most dangerous breed. And they kinda look dangerous too.

Poor Tamira. Yikes.

One thing people need to know is that it's not the breed, but the owner. I used to have a pit bull and she was the sweetest thing. Everyone loved her.

what if she's scared of dogs,is that a reason to be attacked?Gets my on my nerves when ppl say "don't be afraid of them or they'll realise it and attack"..well excuse me it's not as if you can control it.

Exactly. Dogs are assholes and will sometimes attack and bite for no reason at all. The only time I ever came close to physically assaulting someone was that idiot woman whose dog attacked me and she was all like "Oh, he senses that you don't like him". Fuck you, bitch.

She should buy Rafa's new autobiography "Rafa": Nadal doesn't like animals, especially dogs. "I doubt their intentions," he writes.

Dang!

Hopefully the dog has been put to death and the dog owner has gotten whatever punishment the law provides. And if the person is one of those scum dog owners who are drug hustlers with pitbulls, then the scumbag should go straight to jail.

It's a public setting so it's not up to passers-by but entirely up to dog owners to make absolutely sure that their potentially deadly animal never ever sinks its teeth into men, women and children. Animals will always be animals but unfortunately some persons can also be regarded as animalistic due to their irresponsible behavior.

Jesus christ some people are overreacting a bit. People attack and kill other people too but do you crazies villify the entire human race because of it? Get a grip.

http://sports.yahoo.com/tennis/blog/busted_racquet/post/Rafael-Nadal-doesn-t-trust-dogs-and-other-insigh?urn=ten-wp2627Nadal is a Majorcan and as such he's closer to nature and understands the true nature of animals. He's not like the average suburban idiot whose initial formative knowledge of animals started at the local petshop full of inbred, genetically mutated "cute" little puppies.

No but I find it ridiculous to picture Nadal in the light of some mystical, wise, nature-sensitive man. He probably just doesnt like animals cus they have germs and hey presto, his rampant OCD goes into overdrive! Of course that doesnt explain why he picks his arse constantly but its more reasonable than him being able to read the minds of animals or some shit.

I've found this to be half true. There are certain breeds that have a predisposition to violence that can endanger a human. Also, I've met numerous well-intentioned dog owners who have trained and loved their dogs and have had similar problems as them going after humans and felt awful about it.

This isn't the first time this has happened to a tennis player - the same thing happened to Sue Barker in the early 80's
