Not for the first time GS Q begins with doublebagel, also last year here Doi def. Foretz 6-0, 6-0 in first day.
Stephanie also isn´t new when it comes to opening something with a doublebagel, it was her who in Auckland QR1 against Panova with a 6-0, 6-0 result opened 2010 seasson.

So Dubois' last two matches were:

Azarenka def Dubois 60 60
Dubois def Brodsky 60 60

Is that a first?

I was there and got pictures with both of them :) The whole match only took like 5 minutes, so there was lots of time for picture taking afterwards  Dubois apparently doesn't like to have people put their arms around her when she's taking pics with them, which I thought was a little weird. And Brodsky actually did a long interview with someone after the match which I thought was incredibly bizarre since she just lost 0-6, 0-6 in the first round of qualifying

It would be akward to have a stranger putting his arm around yourself for a photo.

ANYWAY, shockingly easy for Stephanie...maybe she's going to put it all together for a couple years. Malek and her huge game - the exact opposite of Dubois - will be extremely telling...

Was it Peter Bodo? I just posted an article in her player thread that he did about her today and I can't imagine there were that many other people who cared.

Gail

She's so inconsistent sometimes.

She has a big serve. Maybe the use of "huge" was...mean. But unintentional, I swear! It's been an exhausting summer.

Slice-bot Malek has a huge game?

I also think you might be mixing Malek up with someone else. Malek plays somewhat like Cetkovska - junkballer who slices her BH all the time. The first time I saw her play she was nothing like that though - dynamic mover, shotmaker who really went for her FH. But that must have been around 2006.

Well, that's the last time I saw her, maybe 2007. Definitely hit the hell out of the ball; big and fat and could not move. Definitely not thinking of anyone else.

Azarenka def Dubois 60 60

Probably not on the ITF circuit

LOLOLOLOL. From my 2007 USO report.

"Next! I selected Parmentier-Malek, because, I don't know. And I think this was maybe the only match I watched over 75% of. As I said yesterday, Malek is fat. Less fat than Magui Serna, but more fat than Brie Whitehead. She has a fine serve but a mediocre forehand and only possesses a slice backhand. Fat and a slice backhand...I'm sorry, this is not 1992 and your name is not Conchita Martinez, so this tennis thing is not going to work out for you, sorry."

I don't remember Malek as fat.

I only ever seen Malek play against Petrova in Stuttgart 07 and she never once "hit the hell out of the ball". Biggest junkballer this side of Niculescu.

As you can see in red in the post directly above yours, I noted as such. I just am old and forget things.

As for being fat, I am extremely judgmental. She could have been retaining water.

Only read it after I'd posted.

I always thought she was more solidly built, rather than fat and unfit.

Malek had a spare tire/pot belly in 2007-2008 IIRC.

Petra is no more a junkballer, she's added lots of power to her game :worship:
Watching her at Wimbledon this time was a pleasant suprise

Not sure but SHE was double-bageled by Azarenka in Toronto a few weeks ago. sigh..............
