Only way she can get a win.
Akgul was up *53, and had 3 SPs at 65*

Apparent back injury.

Please. That end of the first set was good on both parts. Akguls back only started hurting after the first set.

Give her some credit she has improved a lot. :hearts:

Akgul led 5-2 in first. As she is having pretty bad year either, Oudin´s win is not that shocking...both would be extremely happy for R2.

Akgul probably just committed suicide after realizing she lost a set to Oudin.

Akgul actually tweaked her back and had a long MTO after the tiebreak. Happy for Mel :cheer:

I actually watched this match (though I didn't pay attention).

Good for Oudin!

Hopefully (for her) this can build some confidence.

Melanie has a long way to go before she earns some peoples' respect, but she earned mine by fighting her ass off to win the first set. I hope that she only improves from here.

What, no database error?

Oudin fought hard at the end of that first set. She's a very smart and determined player -- too bad she has no power. She'll still get crushed by most top 100 players.

She used to have power off the forehand :sobbing: Now it's pretty much a puffball...

I was at this match and i have to say that Oudin had alot of help with this win. she was clearly outplayed until 4-2 and for some reason Amanmauradova got tired. Why, i have no clue because she did not have to do to much until this point but keep the ball in play. Oudin was also helped out by the crowd that was 100% behind her, they clapped Amanmurdova UE's.

I had a good time and enjoyed the matches that i did see.

I believe she can beat Kerber... As much as I like Kerber, I would really like to see Melanie be able to gain a little more confidence here. Most don't think much of her, but she needs this. I'm pulling for her, all the way.
