Who cares about total amount of match wins (especially if you're the # 1 player)? That's sounds so hollow to me.

I'm much more interested in winning %, deep runs, titles, and Grand Slams.

Is a player that's 48-17 something to brag about, or the one that played well (which Peng has) in the most matches, cause she played the most matches and/or tournaments?

Peng's played well, but other players have played better, have a better winning %, more earnings, titles, deeper runs, less losses, etc., than she does.

I guess it's nice for Peng, but what does it really mean for Wozniaki? I'm sure she'd take it/try to brag about it. But honestly, she's got bigger things to worry about, than holding on to a hollow match win total title. Lol.

My friend, you're starting to get being annoying (or developing hatred against Na Goat?) This is just a thread about win leader, like there are other threads about punchbags and towel throwing. These are number games. Lots of people like number games (hey you live in the stat-crazy US, don't you?)

Exhale.

I thought long and hard, before responding to this. But please mind your business, especially if you're going to chat rubbish/nonsense Bingain.

I was strictly responding to the subject matter, and my Opinion, not Na Goat in anyway (whether or not the subject post made sense). Note: I wasn't the only one that made similar comments. At least I explained mine. So what's your deal/problem?

Lastly, me and Na goat, were trying to figure out a way, to put Wonziaki in his/her signature last we spoke. So you really need to keep quiet, pay attention and mind your business, unless you know what you're getting into.

It counts as long as she was on court :weirdo::rolleyes:

Sick Zhang won against (injured) Dokic, so you suggest this win doesn't count as well? :spit:

No, you're not. The moment you respond to a topic with "Who cares" (see below) you're being hypocritical. Why respond if nobody cares? Why bother reading? You might not have done it on purpose. You might have dissed on a subject or a system and you consider it a personal choice. But it interrupts very differently in other people's mind.

You are not the only one who don't care about these stats. Actually, as a Woz fan, I don't care about it either. Heck I don't even care about her rank. That doesn't mean NOBODY CARES.

My suggestion: step away from woz threads, like I stay away from many player-related-threads, which makes my days more peaceful. You ain't gonna lose anything. TOH, I'm making this suggestion because I kind of like you.

Considering the shitastic form that Bepa has been in, 45-15 is pretty awesome.

As a Kvitova fan (though she has 44 wins and ten losses), I don't want to see her end up 57-20, and be proud she has the most wins. Know what I mean? Lol.

Thank You for kinda liking me Bingain.

That's appreciated, and noted. But I don't dislike Caro, and this wasn't a thread knocking Caro. I was actually defending her, potentially losing the total win crown. Who cares, indeed (unless you feel that's important to her). No problem if you do.

Remember, I have a player I like (Kvitova) who can lead in wins, and has the least losses out of all the women discussed, so of course I was going to jump in because of her. I feel the same way about her to.

When I say "who cares", I was only talking about myself, and expressing my self. I wasn't telling anyone they had to agree with me or see it my way. Not at all.

It's just discussion and expression here. But I know sometimes, when we like certain players (and this being printed words, where we can't always extrapolate the real meaning of peoples intentions), so we overreact, or get the wrong idea on both sides. I've done it to. But you learn to ignore it (as you suggested). It's all good.

As far as me and Na Goat, We Kool! I still want him/her to place Woz in his/her Sig, cause it's obvious he/she likes her.

Nothing wrong with that, for the honorary member of the Golden Blonde/Flower Posse, strengthening Scandinavian-Chinese relations overseas via Tennis through out the world.

It doesn't matter how Wozniaki plays, as long as Na Goat likes her.

I agree with Excelscior. Win % is much more important and informative because it also takes into account the amount of tournaments you've entered, and amount of times you lost per win.

The only time the number of matches won is important (to me) would be milestones in their career, so like every 100 wins. Even then, if I have to choose between a career w-l of 500-200 and 400-100, the latter would be more appealing.

Winning percentage says Kvitova is the leader of this pack. She comes and goes, but the overall trend should put her or 'Pova at the top by the end of the year, especially with indoor season coming.

Not entirely disagree, but think about this: What if Brie Whitehead's mom plays one WTA match this year against Elizaveta Nemchinov, wins it (anything can happen in WTA, so why not?) and she'll have a 100% winning percentage. That's even better than Serena post-Wimbledon stat (with w/o.) Mommy Whitehead would become WTA queen and legend, no?

ETA: Okay, mommy will eventually fail at the following match if it's a tourney. What if a walking bye class player enters a tier 4 MM and wins it by beating another 5 walking byes/walkovers/defaults, and then gets injured for the rest of the season. 100%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course, a weighted stat may solve the problem if there is a fair system to weight the numbers. Such fair system may take 30 years and $1 trillion to develop. I'll take all of these stats with a grain of salt and move on to check out WTA legs.
