Watch now Caroline getting Davis in 1st round, Hercog in the 2nd (Azarenka ret. vs her at 64 04 lead) and whoever gets from a part of the draw where 4 of the aforementioned list met. :oh:

I wouldn't give neither Pironkova, nor McHale the Dangerous looming rank. What about Cetkovska and Medina Garrigues, I believe they can get a scalp in the seed 13-32 zone.
Maybe Pennetta, Gajdosova and Peer are heading the ALT Toothless seeds. :oh:

There is no one in form bar Serena.

Sharapova? Zvonareva? Jankovic? They can beat the mugs, thats it.

I would replace Goerges with Peer.

Unfair to call Kanepi and Dulgheru byes, more like unknown due to injury.

I feel bad for Davis because she earned her spot, but she is so undersized without the power of Domi or the touch or Nuria.

Oudin is 3-18 in her last 21 matches, but will she pull a Pironkova and rediscover the New York magic?

Venus, dangerous? :haha:

I could see McHale going on a nice run to the 4th round or QFs by taking out some inept seeds like Goerges or Pennetta.

Schiavone and Bartoli are very beatable, so I totally expect at least two unseeded players making the quarters (the other one being Serena of course)

Definitely would not want to face Venus or Xtina in the 1st rd.
I think Xtina is due for a slam breakthrough and NY is her home slam and Venus is Venus.

I don't really believe in the 'walking bye' though. These are professionals, slumping players can still un-slump at any moment so nobody should be underestimated.

Unless she plays Morita again.

Obviously, if Namigata makes the MD, she's always at the top of the walking bye list. Dulgheru, LDL and Polona ( We all know this)

Gisela always looms, even if she's slumping. And Flavia is almost at walking bye level. Oh and Peer is a walking bye.

I think Xtina has beaten too many decent players in her career to be taken lightly. She's beatable but she can pull off big wins out of nowhere. And she is a Jersey Girl, so she'll have support around her coming into NY.

As for Lauren Davis. She is severely undersized, so she's virtually a ball girl feeding to any pros to hit winners by easily. Last time I saw her in person she got destroyed by Gavrilova without really trying.

Serena will be seeded.

Morita has had a great year, so I think calling her a walking bye is a bit much. Yes, she likely won't upset a seed, but for the most part she's beaten the players she's supposed to (with the exception of Alona this week). Her losses this summer have been to Stosur (which she really should've won), Bartoli, and Ivanovic.

Shanksur playing terrible inconsistent tennis still beat Davis 6-1 6-1 or something like that in the Australian Open.

No way - she's yet to lose in the 1R of a slam this year

Not to completely belittle this achievement, but she had the luck of drawing a qualifier in each slam this year.

Yeahh, Amanmuradova and Benesova.

Iveta in particular has to be the shittiest player being broadcast on TV. I have no idea how she makes so many main draws.

That can often be the most dangerous, particularly for a British No 1 ;)
