I have a few questions
Do they give you an OOP and practice schedule when you arrive? I usually get there late so I don't know how that works :p

Also can you bring one of those drawstring backpacks? Like this:

Yes you can bring that bag. I dont remember if there are bag checks for qualifying.
They do hand OOPs in some ares, though I like having my own.
They also give you a list of practice courts, and sessions.

Voskoboeva vs. mFAT Second Set
First off I have no idea how Voskoboeva played in that first set for it to be a tiebreak. Now mFAT definitely is a good player and couold have potential, but someone who strikes the ball like Voskoboeva has no excuse. Now I would just like to mention that mFAT is indeed, well FAT. (maybe the m stands for MEGA or Mucho or mighty or Mainly) A Pro tennis player has no excuse, especially one with her potential. She could easily be top 200/150 if she were in shape. she has the instinct and the support system, but sadly all Vosko had to do was pull her wide and the point was over. mFAT's forehand also occasionally was missed time and it would float into Galina's strike zone. Galina needs to step it up just a bit to qualify and if she plays like a few weeks ago could get a main draw win.

Broadsky vs, DuboisFirst Set
Brodsky couldn't get serve in. She would change direction when the ball was too low. 5-0 came mad quick. Broadsky just wasn't hitting her shots. Eventually took a lot off to get the serve in but Dubois handled it incredibly well. Dubois was quite good. She seems to have improved. Hit consistantly deep. Margin for error. Harder then I thought she hit and hits really cleanly.

Woerle vs. Han 6-3 3-5 to end
So I mainly saw Kathrin's come back. She is very skilled at moving the ball around, she has really good accuracy, but as a result loses some power, so she would have Han on the run then the point would be even due to her not adding 5-10 mph on her groundies. When Han got up she hit some great passing, shots lobs, etc. due to Kathrin not amping her shots up. Overall other than neither of them being able to capitalize, KW lost 4 match points in a row, it was decent.

Rampre vs. Rogowska last five games of the first set
I was really excited to see Petra, due to her big wins, and I was excited to see Rogowska, due to her body, so when I was on the stands it was an exciting moment. Rampre had impressive net skills today and wasnt afraid to bail herself out of trouble there. The backhand is a liability. Any main draw player will eat that up. Nothing to report on Rogowska. She hit well but missed once too many in the TB. Her game is kinda blah, good but nothing to phone home about.

Kucova vs. Lercheekawarn
I'm so mad at this match. No Variety/Shotty Line Calls def Variety/No serve. Zuzka fought so hard to come back and was really flat in the first set. Nop just hit hard over and over and Zuzka fell too far behind the early to come back. In the second each started a little off but then mid way they had rallies that were incredibly tight and crazy powerful cross court battles. Nop then served for the match at 5-4 and Zuzka returned beatifully on Nop's tentative serves, Zuzka didnt look back, losing one or two points to win the set. Next Zuzka took at 2-0 lead and it should have been over, but more line calls sucked(in the beginning each were cheated but in set three only Zuzka got screwed) After an epic duece game tainted with bullshit Nop took a 5-2 lead. Zuzka proceeded to return really really well and got to 5-3 and as I expected her to come back mentally she messed up at 30-30(gave a point away on a DF) it was match point.Match point was epic, each went for their shots, deep, cross court down the line, flat hard, high low, IT WAS EPIC. until zuzka lost and I got mad

(Pictures to come at the end of the whole week.)

To be fair I didnt see any major hard hitters today, maybe she can be matched by some mid to high paced players, but she was hitting considerably hard with good enough margin for error, it was pretty good. The difference with Mai Draw Players is that they do way more with their pace (move the opponent a lot more and switch it up). While she moved Zuzka well she was one dimensional with the speed and spin.

I posted my day 2 schedule on post 2

Only passed by and Flipkins looked flustered. Didnt really see much Sorry :awww:

Kolar pls.

I saw only a few points in the end of the first set, I felt so bad she had to play that shrieking mess. It was towards the end of set two, as I said, so she was clearly hitting well. Won the set on a really huge swing volley.

What about Giorgi-Gatto match? :)

Didn't get to see it. I did pass and notice Giorgi's 'skirt'/belt

Please Marta :)

Domachowska - Iijima From 6-4 3-0 to end
Firstly Marta is hot. Not pretty. HOT. The girl looks great and still manages to hit the shit out of the ball. I was really nervous she would get streaky and lose 5 games in a row then win 2 in a row in usual Marta style, BUT I was really impressed by how she was sustaining a very strong level. She was using her pace, not to hit winners, but to move and rush Kumiko. While there was the occasional error a foot wide or long, she did manage to regroup and be smart about the pace. I was impressed. Kumiko on the other hand was at the mercy of Marta on the second set. I dont know how set one went.

You saw alot of matches  Hope you had a great time!

:hatoff:

Well the matches I put are the matches that I have something to say on. So 3 or 4 games counts ;) not full matches.

Krajicek vs Camerin First Set
The warm up was incredibly interesting as MEC seemed to want to psych out Misa by bashing and moving her, I didnt get what was happening. I was really impressed by Misa. She played a great first set Serve and both groundies were working really well and she was hitting deep, though I wish she had moved in more on short balls I was really impressed. I didnt know that each of her wings were so good. I don't know if her level dropped in the second set or what. Credit to MEC for keeping it to 6-3, she answered power with power, did MEC remove the top spin from her game?

love your reports :hearts:

Why thank you!

Vitalia, Andrea H and Karo/Mandy please :)

Hope you had a good time; so angry I couldn't make it out to qualies this year! :fiery:

Only saw moments of Vita, but everytime I passed she would come up was an amazing shot. The match seemed tight, but every moment I looked her way there was an awesome winner.

Karo Mandy was very one sided, Mandy would put a little bit of power or move the ball and Karo sent it long. If she is the one who played MLdB last year this is the second time she disappoints me. Which sis is supposed to be better?

Andrea was so frustrating. The girl was in complete control of every point, yet send random shots out wide, or into the white tape in the net. Its cray how little margin for error she has, the ball is an inch above the net at most, usually. I'm a big fan and I loved that she tried to amp herself up. Lots of come ons and Podj's I thought I was bad luck, so I left after the first set.

Why no Yari? Cohen-Oprandi match report please

Same time as Gavrilova/Nara and I HAD to go make sure Daria COMEON Gavriloser lost. Sorry  Really mad he lost :o

Cohen had the most amount of crowd support ever. She moonballed A LOT. I have no idea why Romina didnt just step in and crack it more often. I could tell Romina was coming off injury/ hasnt played much since she would doubt herself (have a slice grip then last minute change of idea) and then cost her the point. She is in decent shape though. I hope she qualifies.

I unfortunately did not get to see Cagla play, BUT she seemed incredibly sweet and good natured before/after the match. She spent a good 10 minutes talking to fans/taking pictures and signing autographs. She had such a big smile too. I had seen her Day 1 walking around with her coach looking at matches and seemed interested. Her stock went up in my book.

Nara was pretty good in her match versus Gavrilova. The problem was she would let Gavrilova dictate and immediately be on the defensive, when she tried to take over she would easily win the point.

On occasion, compared to others no. She seemed very sweet. wasnt rude.

Ula match :)?

Didnt get to see her, since she was playing at the same time as Kika and

I definitely want to see Aga vs Ula though :)

Today I sat with Marta's boyfriend. I'm photo bombing all their photos. (from Day 2 also)
I'm sad she didnt qual, but her and Vita were two of the better players in Qs, so its tough they had to play.
Kika vs Foretz-Gacon was intense, Kika should have come back. Steph has no weapons, the forehand asks to be hit when its not deep enough and the BH has no pop or sting.

I saw Andrea vs ChiChi. Andrea is slumping, she would OWN these people normally.

Yes. A video or two.
I will post all photos at the end of my reports.
I also saw her watching Marta. She was looking
Short white shorts, sexy glasses.

A littly rusty, but good. Oudin has lost to worst players :shrugs:
I really dont know because I only saw herbeat Cohen. I did get to see Gallovits, who Romina beat, and she was playing really well.

Hurricane Sunday. Rain done by Sunday night.
Monday ill be beautiful.
So just as long as there is no major flooding, transportation or electrical issues, it should be fine. Its a BIG BIG if though.

Hi Daniela - Is - Mine, I noticed you saw some of the day one match between Erakovic and Sema. Could you tell me what you thought of Marina and how she played?

thanks

I went in with really high expectations. Marina and Sema Backhands were both pretty off. Both got blocked and mistimed the shots. Marina went long. Yurika went wide. So the backhand was a liability.

Marinas coach really egged her on. They seem to have a string positive relationship. She has strong sturdy legs. I expected the serve to be a little bit bigger, it isnt as good as on tv .

The forehand was expectedly strong.

She should easily beat Lucic though.

Saw both her first sets vs Wang and Scholl. She really is out of form :(. She would either attack to early on the wrong shot, or get the winning opportunity and lose. Now I was never worried she wouldnt pull out it, but with discipline the could have both been straight set victories.

She is in a rut and is trying to get herself out by 'come on'-ing, bit instead of trying to gain confidence Ana's way, I wish she would do it the way most players do it, by slowing down and really thinking. Its a shame she lost because she was by far one of the bests in qualifying.

Thanks for the report! I have never seen her play live, just on tv, but I agree about the backhand being her weaker shot. Glad to hear she also has a good chemistry with her coach! Is that what you meant when you said they seem to have a string positive relationship?

Yeah, great chemistry. He is very positive and reinforces her when shes nervous. How long have they been together?

That's a real shame. I saw her match against Rodionova at Wimbledon and she played so well there. :worship: But she has such a high-risk game and she needs to be playing with confidence with the way she plays.

Yeah. I'm a really big fan. I feel like she thinks more on grass, because she knows her shots will take more. The first serve percentage needs to go up a lil bit too.

Saw Dani's mixed.

Daniela was so good on court today. fucking killed it. Hit better then Martin, and only was hurt by his serve once or twice. They went down 2-5 becaause dani was a little loose and knowles was tight.

BUT
Pat Echeberry and Daniela's mom sat in front of me. I was in heaven. One obnoxious fan was shouting so loud for the other team saying "nice THIS, nice volley" on EVERY shot and had a stare off with Knowles and tried to intimidate him. So I made fun of him and was like, NICE BREATHING!! NICE MITOSIS! NICE MULTIPLYING OF CELLS, knowing Dani's mother was smart, and after the match she told me i was so funny. I was ON CLOUD NINE!

Also I gave Alexa Glatch a stare down. She sat with the nasty fan and I was looking at him disgusted and we had a stank face off. I won. Bitch got downed.
