A lot of criticism of Caroline Wozniacki after her defeat to Christina McHale today. Some are even saying that she is the worst of the recent slamless No 1's.

So who is the worst?

Woz for spamming up her ranking with MM and then spamming up our TVs with her appauling adverts that make cheap pornos look like Hollywood blockbusters :spit:

Woz. She has the least impressive game and is playing in the weakest era of womens tennis.

Wozniacki, EASILY.

Safina was a hot mess but she beat some great players and put up awesome fights back in the day. At least she had a forehand you know?

Jankovic was one of the most entertaining and creative players of the decade, and when she was on she was simply a pleasure to watch.

10/10 for originality.

By results while #1 - Jankovic
But by tennis - Wozniacki.

Although the worst #1 of recent times would probably be Ivanovic, though her run to the spot was stellar.

The hate on Dinara when she was #1 was way beyond what it should have been. I mean she had wins over Venus, Serena, Justine AND Kim in her rise to and while being #1. And racked up titles. The hate came also for her weird/bad losses in the end of her #1 reign which were greatly due to her struggle with that back injury.

Wozniacki gets my vote.

Woz. easily.

You can't count ivanovic in. Her #1 stay was brief.

Safina was the best, because she was the closest at being the best on any surface, and that was clay. Followed by Jankovic and then Wozniacki. Wozniacki hasn't made a single GS final in her reign. Safina made two.

If the three of them at their peak played a round robin tournament, one match on each surface, how might they have fared? Here's my guess:

Hard court
Jankovic d Wozniacki
Safina d Wozniacki
Jankovic d Safina

Clay
Jankovic d Wozniacki
Safina d Wozniacki
Safina d Jankovic

Grass
Safina d Wozniacki
Safina d Jankovic
Wozniacki d Jankovic

Safina - 5
Jankovic - 3
Wozniacki - 1

Purely subjective and unscientific but there you go.

Out of these players I think Jankovic is the best player. But performing the best while being number one, then I think Wozniacki is the best.

Jankovic has the highest capacity. See Jankovic vs Henin in Us Open. The famous Jelena Jankovic was dominating the match with amazing play, but when she is at the brink of winning in straight sets she gets into an unneccesary argument with the umpire and just totally lost her groove after that, letting Henin into the match for the first time, lost it big from there on.

Safina has a chronic back problem. She has an excuse for bad results and when she was at 100%, she actually defeated Serena, Henin, Venus and Clijsters. Wozniacki has zero wins over these players.

Jankovic wasn't #1 for very long and she was really impressive in the fall of 2008, looking really as a threat to anybody. Plus, then again, she was still able to beat top players and look as a threat in the Grand Slams.

I'd say Dinara...because she actually spoke like she believed she was the best player in the world. I don't think Caro ever claimed to be the best just deserving because of her commitment to and support of the tour.

While I hate her game...there is much to be admired in a person who honors her commitments and respects something outside of herself.

Woz. easily.

Remember, Ivanovic has a major - the French - so she would not be in this poll!!
