That's also applied in Greece, but Greek people only use 1 last name.

We respect the Portuguese and the Spanish to use 2 last names to show respect to their father and mother. However, not all Portuguese and Spanish do so. It's really becoming a problem to send correct last names especially in ITF tournaments when I don't even know who those players are for the most part.

A dash between the two last names would have saved a bunch of problems for the managers.

Kimiko Date v. Kimiko Date-Krumm

It's a game on here, I don't think it's a big deal or will offend players if we change their names from

Anabel Medina Garrigues -> Anabel Medina-Garrigues

There are some Spanish and Portuguese players that do add dash on there.

I think above of everything this is a question of respect (in this case, lack of it) for the job of the managers. The OOP clearly says how you are supposed to send picks (I know half of the people don't even read what is written there), so if people really cared they would send in the correct format (maybe they would need a bit more of time to write the picks). And all this has been discussed before in pretty much every grandslam tournament so it's really frustating to see the same players are still sending their picks in the same way and ignoring everything we say.

some people are hopefully not serious when they complain about full names in OOP?
OOP with full names is totally OK , every OOP is a bit different of course, depends on the manager, but I don´t see a problem at all as TT players just have to follow the picks instructions, that´s all!

I mean, only thing we players have to do is following those instructions, doesn´t matter if that means deleting some players 1st name or not and that is all we have to do, sending picks and then wait and enjoy the tournament.

Most of the work is up to the managers, they have much work during a tournament so we players really shouldn´t complain about the few minutes we need to send picks in the right format.

I always appreciate first names in an OOP, though if not included, it's not too much bother to look up the draw thread for same. As for the double barrel surnames, I just go by what the ranking list on WTA.com says. For example, on Ashe atm

Llagostera Vives, Nuria vs Wozniacki, Caroline

My suggestion would be bracketing the portion of the name you don't want players to send, as below.

(Nuria) Llagostera Vives vs (Caroline)Wozniacki

Agnieszka (Radwanska) vs Urszula (Radwanska)

some managers put the last names in BIG LETTERS , that's also a good way to show what the 'full' last name is : Anabel MEDINA GARRIGUES :yeah:

You haven't been on these boards enough to make that assesment.

We have players like Pous-Tio, but still players manage to send Pous or Tio.

I have seen in the Men's game where...

1. There is an OOP which is posted with full name so you know who is really who.

2. There is also a sending pick list where only the name desired is posted with rules.

It will probably take the managers another minute to post that list to try to avoid possible errors, but it will probably save lots of time to try to correct errors.

I assume you're talking about DTT which is different because you only want the name of the first player in the partnership because that's what's used in the spreadsheet. Unfortunately I guess there'll always be people that send in the wrong format. With a smaller OOP it's not too bad to fix but with a larger OOP and a larger number of participants, like in the first round of a GS, I can see how it must be frustrating for managers as there's already a lot of effort required without the added burden of spotting mistakes.

Personally, I like the full names as it is nice to have clarity on who the players are and it makes the OOP look a bit more professional. It really isn't that difficult to copy/paste the OOP and delete the first name of the player you think will win as well as the full name of the player you think will lose.

MTF introduced the following rule last year when players were sending picks incorrectly - d) has never been imposed, whether it's because people have learnt I don't know but there are far less complaints from managers now about people sending picks incorrectly & many praise the players for sending correctly.
10. Sending picks incorrectly
a) If someone sends before OOP is posted then no punishment.
b) First time = a warning (manager should PM the player back)
c) Second time = a point penalty
d) Disqualification

Tournament threads must have instructions on how to send picks correctly. It's up to the manager whether they wish to impose these penalties. It's just an option which might hopefully make players realise it's annoying when they send ridiculous PM's.

rule is the rule :fiery: it only proves that sth should be done here. It's hard to solve, but I think that all the retirements should count, or only these when the player who won a match had won a previous set too. It would prove that she won not only because of the retirement. It just an idea, retirements are a hard issue here.

By far the best team of the round :oh: Too bad I miserably crashed out in singles already.

Oh, and I can't help but notice, this TT tournament must be the most bitter tournament ever  The Doi and Hampton retirements, the rule discussions, favourites losing and complaining. Drama :hearts:

Well  I didn't play for the first half of the year and the rules for doubles Incorrect 2-1 picks aren't really specified

I think it's difficult too. For example in this match, I believe it's MJMS in 2 +2 vs. Barthel in 2 and MJMS in 3. Would that give an advantage to Banditoo and kasia_q?
Also in the match Dokic vs. Govortsova. It's Govortsova in 3 and Dokic in 2 vs. Govortsova in 2 and Dokic in 3. That would be an incorrect SR point for PAVANILAI and sd3300123, right?

Yes. That's what I thought too...

But I mean the first match you mentioned.. Is it fair to compare two picks to one? I seriously dislike this rule but whatever

I'll start my complaints now:

We were better with the SR Shootout. TT is supposed to be a simple game and not this

When did you start playing? Talk a little about your TT career...

I have started playing in late 2008. at challengers. I didn't wait a long for my first title - it was in December 2008. in Prerov. There I beat then 3 top 10 players so it was big motive for me to continue. Next year I started to play WTA Tour but my rank still wasn't so good so I was combing challengers and WTA tournaments. In Memphis I scored my first WTA tour win and at Hertogenbosch I won first WTA title. But at about that time I was better player in doubles. With my partner Endru. (then bhebhe) I had great series of semifinal in Madrid and quarterfinals of Roland Garros and Wimbledon. In 2009. I won few more tournaments (challengers and international series) and I improved to top 50. 2010. was my breakthrough season at tour. I won 3 titles but what was more important was my first Premier title at San Diego. Still, I haven't played good at big tournaments, I think 4th round of Wimbledon was peak at Mandatory tournaments for me if I remember well. At the end of season I qualified for Bali and my I finished season at top 15 I think. But 2010. was disastrous season at doubles for me. Few "shine" tournaments here and there was my doubles highlight of the season. So after long thinking I decided to split up friendly with Endru and pair up with my good friend Jose. As Jose. also split up with Daniela-Is-Mine we supposed them to each other to be partners and as I can see they are playing all this season together so I'm happy to see that. And 2011. started bad but so far it is my best season until now with my best singles (SF at Roland Garros) and doubles result (Toronto title)!

What has been your best moment/carrer highlight in TT? Singles and Doubles?

My best moment in my TT Singles career was this year at Roland Garros where I came to the semifinals. I also want to mention my second best result, Toronto finals of this year. My biggest title is Premier title at San Diego from 2010. About doubles my best result so far is winning Toronto title this year with Jose (:hearts: ) and quarterfinals at Roland Garros (2009. with Endru and 2011. with Jose.) and at Wimbledon (2009. with Endru).

How would you rate your season so far?

This season started disastrous for me. I was very unmotivated to stay at TT and I can thanks to Jose. to still playing it. Because he staid with me in difficult moments and was motivating me. And I'm very grateful to him because of that. Many times I even didn't appear at tournaments I committed for and as I was playing very rarely I didn't have good results at beginning of the year (I think just one international final in singles). Also, we had very bad time in doubles as we even had to play international qualifying as our rank was so bad. But as I staid I slightly starting to get motive and playing better and better. As I didn't make almost any significant result in beginning of the year any many points were starting to go off I even was think to retire completely. But at Roland Garros everything opened, I made it to semifinals of singles and quarterfinals of doubles and earned very important points! I decided definitely to stay then! First time after Roland Garros I broke it to top 10 at ranks! Grass season was ok and then US Open series was awesome for me until now! It started bad but then I played Toronto final, Cincinnati R3 and New Haven SF! It keep me near top 10 in the ranks as I lost many points from previous season! What was more important for me is doubles title in Toronto! Jose and me had disastrous doubles rank. It was even funny how we were both at singles top 10 at one moment but out of top 80 in doubles! But we had great run at Toronto and we are now near top 50! All in all I'm very happy with this season so far. I can be happy to stay play but some great results are just bonus and making it better!

What are your expectations for this year's Open? Singles and Doubles

Well, I already lost my Round 1 match (congrats to Miloti) so I can't say anything about that any more! :tape:  About doubles I hope to win round or two but we have very bad draw because we are playing against 2nd seeds. Still, I think we have quality to beat everyone and I think every match is open so I hope we can win few rounds here. :)

What do you know of your first round opponent (Miloti)? How do you think the match will go?

I think Miloti just started playing TT this season so I don't know much about him/her. Well, I lost and it is obviously very good player and I wish to him/her good luck in the rest of tournament. About match I think it went in very unpredictable way that I really wouldn't predict to happen. I was very close to win but Doi retired at 2-5 last set against Pous Tio and if just one more game was played I would win. I think I was unlucky a little bit but that is all part of game and I don't think it makes Miloti's win less. I congratulation for win and now I concentrate just on doubles.

What are your goals for the rest of the year?

I didn't think about this. As I said, I even thought to retire so the last thing about TT I was thinking were goals. But now when I'm still playing I just hope to win more matches as possible. In race I'm close to top 8 and maybe I can qualify for YEC. But it will be very, very difficult as competition is great and I do not expect to qualify for it. But if that happens it will be just a bonus. About doubles I have more goals. I really wish to improve my doubles rank. I'm out of top 50 and just month ago I was out of top 80 so I hope I can get to top 40 until end of the season. I have great partner and we believe we can do it.

Who do you think are the favourites for the singles and doubles titles?

Well, it is very difficult to say. But I would say the best seeds of tournament. I mean, they are there where they are because they are playing best continuously. Surprises are always possible but if I have to choose favorites I would say that are best ranked players of TT. ;)

Who are your biggest rivals on TT?

Honestly, I don't know. I didn't think so much about this. I do not look at TT as game where I'm playing against my rivals or something. For me it is for fun and relaxing and I don't want to bother myself with things like rivals. I rather like to be friends with most of people here. :)

Which player(s) do you hate to face?

I always want to avoid Andyian becuase I think I beat him just once in about 5-7 (sorry, I don't remember well ) matches. And also, I hate to play against my good friends (Jose., tennismaster8820, Daszmarelli, etc.)

Do you think the TT ranks represent the reality of TT?

In my opinion TT is kind of game where everyone can beat everyone. I think that game are playing many great players that deserve better rank but there is no place for everyone in top. Many matches depend on lucky too. Also, someone can have one great result at bigger tournament and it can secure good rank to it. And someone can have unlucky and hard time with breaking better rank. For example, both Jose and me at one period were singles top 10 but out of top 80 at doubles. But all in all I think it does represent quality of TT because everyone can play the same tournaments during year and everyone can collect the same amount of points. I think in the end the best players will find their way to top and that they are there because they really deserve that and are playing good continually. There always can be some exceptions but generally I think it TT ranks represent the really of TT.

What's your favorite tournament?

Hmm...this is not an easy question! Well, I would say Roland Garros. Because there I made my best singles result and two times I made it two quarterfinals of doubles. ;)

Why did you choose Jose. as your partner?

Because he is great person and great TT player and we make up perfectly. Even when we are "fighting" we never get mad on each other. And we are very good friends and we are talking to each other pretty often and simply we want to play with each other. We had some difficult time with playing qualifying even of international tournaments but we are improving from tournament to tournament and I think we definitely made right decision. I really enjoy playing doubles with Jose! :hearts:

Thank you for this interview. And I want to give special thanks to my biggest fan (:haha:) Reggie! Love ya! :hearts:

When did you start playing? Talk a little about your TT career...

I startet playing in the 2009 grasscourt-season. My first tournament was ITF Nottingham where I reached the QF's as a Qualifier. I remember I didn't get in at my first home-tournament in Bad Gastein that year, as the organisers thought Melanie Klaffner would deserve the WC more. Well, in 2010 I've been already in Top 30 and I came back an won my first WTA-singles title here in Bad Gastein. I won another title in Tashkent but didn't really get higher in the rankings (althought I was in Top 10 for a few weeks).

Soon in my carrer I knew I would get better in doubles rather than singles. I've already won 5 ITF-doubles titles after like 2 months of playing. :D In 2010 I started playing with CJ aka NyCPsU. We started with like 6 or 7 losses in a row  But then we quickly improved, won a lot of big titles like Rome, Beijing or the YEC. Already one year after the start of our partnership we found ourselves back at the #1 ranking when we reached the AO-final.

What has been your best moment/carrer highlight in TT? Singles and Doubles?

For Singles of course getting the title in Bad Gastein in 2010. Also I owned my rival Bennyko for a long time in 2010 too, that was nice too.

In doubles I've already won lots of titles, but the biggest moment was for sure to reach the AO-Final this year. We chocked it away against much more experienced opponents. Hope to get that chance one time again.

How would you rate your season so far?

Average. In singles I'm sucked at 20-30. It started off pretty well with a title in Sydney but then lots of early losses or QF's and so on.

Same for doubles. Reached the AO-final, won a few small titles I think. I wonder who me managed it to stay at #1 for so long.

What are your expectations for this year's Open? Singles and Doubles

In singles I don't know. I can lose in the first round, but also reach to final or somehting.

In doubles the key will be a win in our first round match. If we get through this, everything is possible (hopefully)

What do you know of your first round opponent (FaceyFacem)? How do you think the match will go?

Well, he owned me in 2010. Winning 3 out of 3 matches. This year I got revenge at Stanford. It could be a real marathon, so the scheduling to Ashe is totally deserved.

What are your goals for the rest of the year?

Doing well.
Hopefully we'll get to Istanbul in doubles, and of course I want to stay in the Top 30 in singles.
I'm also looking a bit forward to the off-season. Love the Australian ITF's :hearts:

Who do you think are the favourites for the singles and doubles titles?

In singles I could name about 50 players, but the biggest fave is ALYOUNA I think.

In doubles the same teams as usually should get far. Drake/Jean, FaceyFacem/dave or Chris/SloKid, just to name a few.

Who are your biggest rivals on TT?

Well I only can name the ones who played to most matches with. So Bennyko. We had a streak of like 6 or 7 meetings in the 2010 summer.

Which player(s) do you hate to face?

Lately I'm a bit in fear of Elwin. He's in a quite good form and beat me a few times this summer. I have no clue what do against him. :sobbing:

Do you think the TT ranks represent the reality of TT?

Totally. All those divas who are stucked between 50-100 can't play TT at all and will never get higher.

What's your favorite tournament?

Bad Gastein.

Why did you choose NyCPsU as your partner?

Well, actually he choosed me. I didn't have a reular partner in 2009. We got to play in an ITF in the off-season and after that he asked me to be his regular partner for the next year and you all know what happend then. I'm already a bit afraid whats going to happen after CJ calls it carrer after this season. Hopefully he atleast gets a nice farewell party in Istanbul. :p

When did you start playing? Talk a little about your TT career...

I started playing TT earlier this year, In an ITF event in Hammond,USA, where i lost in the opening Round of Qualifying. Am yet to make a singles final, but hoping that changes in this tournament.

What has been your best moment/carrer highlight in TT? Singles and Doubles?

Singles - Winning by first round match at Roland Garros 2011 as a qualifier.
Doubles - Getting to the 3rd round of Wimbledon 2011.

How would you rate your season so far?

One word - Inconsistant.

What are your expectations for this year's Open? Singles and Doubles

My first goal is to just win my opening round match. Would love to make it to the 3rd round, and achieve my best result in a Grand Slam.

What do you know of your first round opponent (leftyness)? How do you think the match will go?

Don't know much about leftyness. Could possibly have played them before, but I can't remember :o . But I do know we have a similar ranking... but leftyness is ranked slightly higher!

What are your goals for the rest of the year?

By the end of the year I would really like to be in the top 70 in both singles and doubles, so that I can hopefully play main draw matches in the Australian Tournaments in January.

Who do you think are the favourites for the singles and doubles titles?

Top Seeds are great Tipsters - You cant be ranked in the top 5, and not be expected to win the tournament.

Who are your biggest rivals on TT?

Dont think I have any... yet! ;)

Which player(s) do you hate to face?

I don't like playing against other Aussies, I also wouldnt like to play my doubles partner smokovec.

Do you think the TT ranks represent the reality of TT?

I do - the top ranked players are obviously great tipsters - and are consistantly finishing in the later rounds of the bigger tournaments.

What's your favorite tournament?

Wimbledon & Australian Open

Why did you choose smokovec as your partner?

I played 1 or 2 doubles tournaments with smokovec in my early TT days, before i asked him if he would like to team up at Wimbledon. We have been playing every week since!! :)

When did you start playing? Talk a little about your TT career...

At the beginning of last year, well it was really a terrible season for me, no titles, even no Final. But all changed after I won the Wimbledon.

What has been your best moment/carrer highlight in TT? Singles and Doubles?

Win the Wimbledon this year, and now become a TOP20 player. DOUBLE is a mess.

How would you rate your season so far?

Not bad.

What are your expectations for this year's Open? Singles and Doubles

Win more in singles to make sure that be in YEC. No expectations for doubles:(

What do you know about your first round opponent (simonsaystennis)? How do you think the match will go?

No impressions```` But the first round match is always tough.

Coming as the Wimbledon 2011 Singles Winner do you feel like you can make another surprise run?

Maybe, I'm looking forward to being in TOP10.

What are your goals for the rest of the year?

Win the CHINA OPEN:D

Who do you think are the favourites for the singles and doubles titles?

Uncle Jason, he is a GS player, won the RG and came to the final in Wembeldon, I think he will make a breakthrough.

Who are your biggest rivals on TT?

Everyone can be.

Which player(s) do you hate to face?

ALYOUNA :worship: never beat her.

Do you think the TT ranks represent the reality of TT?

NO,I won Wimbledon when I was ranking 135 or 136:p

What's your favorite tournament?

CHINA OPEN

Why did you choose xieergai as your partner?

His partner is busy now, we lose in Q, and I hope that we can be in MD:p and a win a match

Name: Kevin
Country: USA
Age: 29
Favourite player: Serena Williams

When did you start playing? Talk a little about your TT career...

I started the same time my brother, tennisbuddy12 did at Nottingham in 2010. I made the 3r of Wimbledon as a Q and was a game from the second week (thanks Kanepi). This year I had a breakthrough in Dubai as a LL and made the quarters and just been rolling since then. 3r at Indian Wells and Charleston, QF at Fes,Rome and Dubai, a SF in Miami and a final in Palermo. I ended last year 123 and now I am at 44. In doubles I am struggling. Im in the top 100 but I have only had 2 SF (Indian Wells and Birmingham) and a R16 at Wimbledon.

What has been your best moment/carrer highlight in TT? Singles and Doubles?

Miami by far in singles because that was a huge tournament, but also making the finals in Palermo was pretty sweet and in doubles it was making the semis in Indian Wells because I finally did well in a tournament.

How would you rate your season so far?

Compared to last year tons better. Singles has been amazing but I know I can do better. I wish I can say the same about doubles.

What are your expectations for this year's Open? Singles and Doubles

I would like to defend my 2nd round points. Honestly I would like to be in the second week in singles and doubles. But winning a match would be fine by me :).

What do you know of your first round opponent (Ethiopian Clowns)? How do you think the match will go?

I have heard about him but have not seen his results. I know he is ranked 79th, but I dont know if he is new which scares me but I am hoping that my picks are good enough! I tend to take risks and when I do it pulls off for the most part ;).

What are your goals for the rest of the year?

I would like to be seeded by Australia since I do not have tons of points to defend. I would like to be top 30 in singles and top 50 in doubles. I want to be a top American player.

Who do you think are the favourites for the singles and doubles titles?

I would say Bennyko. I have played Bennyko 3 times when he was number 1 and barely scraped by him all three times and we made the finals of Casablanca together so I know his game and he is very good and a very smart player.

Who are your biggest rivals on TT?

tennisbuddy12, simonsaystennis, crazylace01, Shi Feng (my old doubles partner), if fencer was still around then him, and Bennyko.

Which player(s) do you hate to face?

any top player  I always get bad draws but I have to make the best of it and any of the ones above :)

Do you think the TT ranks represent the reality of TT?

Its hard to say because it depends on your picks, if you are risky all the time you can be inconsistent. Alot of players try to be safe and that will not get you too far. I think I have been doing risks and it pulled off. Since Dubai I have cracked the top 50. If you have a string of bad tournaments its hard. So I would say yes and no.

What's your favorite tournament?

Cincinnati, thats where I live :) Miami and the US Open are not too far behind

Why did you choose Andreas as your partner?

I needed a partner and so did he. I am without one permanently as tennisbuddy12 said. I am hoping if we do well here we can start a partnership!

Interview with AdeyC

http://www2.webng.com/AdeyC/ruzici.bmp

Name: Adrian Collins (hate Adrian though so AdeyC – also as a homage to the should’ve been Eurovision Queen GinaG)
Country: Great Britain
Age: 44
Favourite player: Virginia Ruzici, Helena Sukova, Patty Schnyder and Kimiko Date

When did you start playing? Talk a little about your TT career...

I came across the Womens Tennis Forum during a boring day at work. Signed up – then in 2009 after the three month rule – Miami was the first tournament I ever played and made 3rd round. Love playing the game but wish could do better particularly in singles where I’m still yet to win a title. Made the Top 50 in singles briefly (1 week I think) but I had a bad start to 2011 and ranking plummeted but has stabilised now. In doubles I’ve been lucky to find a partner who always sends picks and we’ve been in the Top 30. But as British players seem to do better late in their careers I hope to get a singles title by 2016. Currently compare myself to Sara Gomer, but want to be a Virginia Wade, Sue Barker or Jo Durie.

What has been your best moment/carrer highlight in TT? Singles and Doubles?

In singles - at the time qualifying and beating a World No 1 for the first time in Toyko in 2009 – but since then in terms of points won reaching the 4th round of the Australian Open in 2010 and reaching the final of Bad Gastein last year, where I also won the doubles title with tennisbuddy12 (Joey), the only one not won with Mateusz as he was on holiday at the time.
In doubles – winning in my home event at Birmingham this year. Also I think winning Bogota last year and then defending the title this year was a great achievement.

How would you rate your season so far?

In singles – the worst year I’ve had, the year started with 13 straight first round losses and I even dropped out of the Top 100 for a few weeks. But it has picked up a bit since the grass season with four QF or better in my last eight events. Not much to defend for the rest of the year so I hope to get ranking up a bit and then 2012 I have 13 clear weeks to try and gather points.
Doubles not as solid as last year, but still two titles this year and a chance to qualify for Bali for the second year running with some good results in the next few months.

What are your expectations for this year's Open? Singles and Doubles

I will be happy to get a few matches under my belt in singles but have a qualifier in the first round, always dangerous – a 4R showdown with Luis would be great on the way to a SF against the wonderful mateusz – and would like to at least reach the 3rd round in doubles, the only Slam we've not reached the last 16, but unfortunately sdtoot and extremaduratennis are likely to be 2nd round opponents.

What do you know of your first round opponent (smokovec)? How do you think the match will go?

Not sure if played him/her before – but qualifiers are dangerous, I hope to pull something out of the bag - 50/50

What are your goals for the rest of the year?

To improve my singles ranking and try to get back to the Top 50 at least – and to qualify for Bali again this year in doubles.

Who do you think are the favourites for the singles and doubles titles?

In singles I think it'll be one of the Top 8 who wins
Doubles can be more open - sdtoot and extremaduratennis

Who are your biggest rivals on TT?

Hopefully not rivals as I always congratulate/commiserate after a match – but I think joe87 is the player I’ve lost to the most but have never beaten in singles.

Which player(s) do you hate to face?

mateusz2904 – my doubles partner – the unwritten agreement seems to be I beat him in WTT and he beats me in MTT
In doubles Dementieva Dude and In The Zone – don’t think we’ve ever beaten them.

Do you think the TT ranks represent the reality of TT?

Yes and no. For those at the top of the game it does – but you still have to win 5 matches to win a challenger (not that I've done it yet) and you get a lot less points for it

What's your favorite tournament?

Eastbourne, my local(ish) event which I attend every year and Montreal, where I’ve been to for 7 of the last 10 years.
In TT - Bogota – as won my first ever doubles title there, and even better was the fact that we defended it this year.

Why did you choose mateusz2904 as your partner?

When started playing went through the usual playing with anyone, had a sorta-regular partner for a few months who stopped playing the game and then I joined up with Mateusz, we won some matches and we have continued playing ever since,

Results without A.Rad and Sharapova matches. Everyone picked both and also it wasn't a SR match.

Why do we need to pick SRs and TBs? I might be wrong, but it's 2-day round and we did it yesterday.

It was a mistake of my part to put all the SRs yesterday so I eventually changed it. It's more fair to have SRs in both days. ;)

Oh right, I've just realesed the OOP for yesterday was changed. You're right, it was a good move.

Unfortunately my picks for Wednesday were beyond bad :o I guess I should've taken some risk today so there would be more differences. 3rd round for someone outside of top200 is still good though :)

Interview with Ianto_Jones

http://lh4.ggpht.com/-uZgqDp63eis/RtBGRr_JpfI/AAAAAAAABYA/Hljt-4LfT4o/me.jpg

Name: James
Age: 19

When did you start playing? Talk a little about your TT career...

Well, I started playing TT earlier this year, and for sure it's been a fantastic one so far, despite a recent rut as I've been struggling to juggle my studies and my tennis. I think I remember entering the Australian Open; however...I completely failed to make it onto the court of my qualification first round match, because I was sick at that time, which was unfortunate.

What has been your best moment/carrer highlight in TT? Singles and Doubles?

Well, I'd have to say making the Final 16 at Indian Wells is pretty memorable but unfortunately I fell to Sexysova in that tourney. Apart from that I won the ITF in Johannesburg which was my first career Title. Then right after Johannesburg Kev. and I teamed up to win Dothan...so those two weeks were right after Indian Wells....so I've desperately been trying to find that form again.

How would you rate your season so far?

It's been a good first season, a lot of ups and downs...definitely had some heartbreaker. I'm looking forward to improving on this as I can gain entry to more WTA Tour Level events in the coming months.

What are your expectations for this year's Open? Singles and Doubles

I'm hoping to just play my best, and you know...whatever happens happens. In this game, the best person wins and that's all fine with me. I honestly think that I have nothing to lose here, so it's going to be great.

What do you know of your first round opponent (Bart)? How do you think the match will go?

I know Bart is ranked 68 or so. I think that this is a fantastic opportunity for me to proclaim my arrival to the double digit rankings if I manage to upset Bart. I'm really just hoping to go out there and do my best in the end, and if Bart beats me, I expect him to go on and win the US Open.

What are your goals for the rest of the year?

To reach the Top 100, and perhaps the top 85 if I can.

Who do you think are the favourites for the singles and doubles titles?

Well, I'd say...my pick is a slight dark horse. I think that Sexysova has what it takes to win a Grand Slam--and I think that Sexysova will have the element of luck on his side as he did have Lady Luck with him when he beat me in Indian Wells. Doubles? I have no idea...its really a crapshoot really. I'd have to say....simonsaystennis/tennisbuddy12 are going to ride the support of the home crowd to a huge victory!

Who are your biggest rivals on TT?

Oh. wtatourfan, Dazmarelli...I guess anyone from Brazil. Those two are a GREAT doubles combo and they are definitely a team to watch. Also, Beesley deserves to be thrown in there as I would hate to face him.

Which player(s) do you hate to face?

Kev. Who wants to knock out their doubles partner in a tournament? I also HATE facing people from the United Kingdom. Simply put, nobody from Britannica deserves to be put out of a tournament.

Do you think the TT ranks represent the reality of TT?

Totally. Anyone can win on any given day, and I think that maybe there are a few people who are underranked...but I think that ALYOUNA deserves to be on top...I think a few tourney's I've been in I've seen BennyKo lose in the first round to some unknown.

What's your favorite tournament?

Indian Wells.

Why did you choose Kev. as your partner?

Well, you know earlier this year I was going through some issues, and I talked to Kev, and we really got to know each other through the activities we did together, and since then its been a great friendship and partnership although lately I've been really bad about finding the right tourney.

Ianto_Jones provided his own format for the interview which we decided to keep :p

http://images.triplem.com.au/2010/01/12/329033/sport-gallery-tennis-09-Victoria-Azarenka-600x400.jpg

Name: Andreas

You started the tournament beating Portuguese unseeded Luís Santos on the first round. What do you have to say about that match?

We have played each other so many times, but I don't think I've lost to him since 2009. I got lucky this time, though. I believe Luís would have won if Pous-Tio had beaten Doi in 3 sets.

How important it was for you to start the tournament beating one of the standout player of the US Open Series (he was Toronto champion)?

I had no idea he won Toronto, but good for him. I don't really care about my opponents' past achievements. I just stick to my strategy and see how far that takes me.

On the second round you defeated leftyness already knowing that whoever won that match would get a bye for the next round. What do you have to say of that match?

The OOP was very difficult so I didn't really have confidence in my picks. We had a lot of differences, but I got an early lead so I didn't really feel like I was in danger of losing at any point. Knowing that a win would take me to R4 made me want to win even more.

You have a bye on this third round and we would like to know if you consider that as an advantage or a disadvantage over the other players?

It's definitely an advantage. My picks have not been too good on the first day of this round so I consider myself lucky.

In doubles you are also in the second round. How do you see that match?

Our opponents made some good picks on day 1 so we have to catch up today. Hopefully it'll go well.

The biggest stadium you have played so far was on Grandstand, how was it to play there?

It was awful. Everyone knows that I belong on Arthur Ashe.

What are your objectives for the rest of the tournament?

Well, I'm in R4 now so I'm more than happy with what I've achieved so far. A QF would be really nice or maybe even a SF which would be the best GS result in my TF TT career.

Name 4 players you see winning the singles title and 2 doubles teams

Uhm, let me take a look at the draw...
ALYOUNA is always a favourite in the big tournaments so she would be my no. 1 pick. Other than that I feel like Elwin. and Michael! have been in good form lately. Random Chinese players always seem to do well so my last pick would be sd3300123 (amazing username btw).
For doubles, I would like to say Hachiko and igralec33. It's one of my favourite pairs and they seem to be in good form. I hope for them that they have a good run. Inger67 and rvugt also make a good team, so I would pick them for a surprise win, even though they are playing Kevin and I.

Who do you see as the biggest disappointment of the tournament, so far?

It was weird to see no. 1 and the defending champion go out in R2. But I guess it's not that surprising after all. Everyone can beat everyone in this game.

What are your goals for the rest of the season?

I would be very happy to qualify for Istanbul but it's starting to look difficult with my poor form. If I fail at that I should be a safe bet for Bali which is also satisfying.

Do you think the TT ranks represent the reality of TT?

Not at all. It was proven at this tournament that our no. 1 was just a fluke. TF TT is a mess and so many players earn their ranking through one good tournament. I feel like the top players were more consistent a few years back. If anyone asked me to name all the top 10 players I would probably only be able to name 2 or 3.

What's your favorite tournament?

Australian Open. There's nothing like watching tennis all night, and the courts are so pretty.

Why did you choose Kevin. as your partner?

I've had some difficulties with finding partners as I've been left by 3 during the last year. I've been playing with SamR03A for a while now but he already had a partner for USO. Kevin and I both needed a partner and I don't want to play with random scrubs so he was a good solution.

And finally, what are your thoughts on the very discussed topics of the retirement rule and the possibility of a picks sending rule?

Finally an interesting question! Where are all the juicy ones? Anyway, I think it's difficult to make a decision that makes everyone happy. I lost a match at US Open because of a retirement last year and this year I won because of it. If I had to decide, though, I would think it would be a good idea to just count all retirements as long as one point has been played. A winner is a winner, no matter what the score is.
Concerning the fuss about people sending picks in the wrong format, I don't really care. I've managed a lot of tournaments, including slams, and sure it's annoying, but it's a game after all and to disqualify people for misspelling a name is seriously retarded. You just have to accept that some people (the majority of TT players) are not as smart as others (me).

You started the tournament beating Japanese Hachiko on the first round being the top scorer of the day. What do you have to say about that match?

Wow. Actually it was quite surprising. I just can say that it was an unbelievable match. Maybe the best match of my TT career in terms of average points. Hachiko is well-known in the circuit and I knew it would be a tough match. I was lucky to win.

How important it was for you to start the tournament being the top scorer of a total of 128 players?

Well, it's scary. Usually when I have a good 1st Round, I have a terrible "day-after", but I was aware of that and tried to forget about Day 1 and take it day by day.

On the second round you defeated American FaceyFacem. What do you have to say of that match and how hard was it to face an american?

Well, after being the top scorer of Day 1, the organizers put my match against confident FaceyFacem on Louis Armstrong Stadium. It was tough, because I really wanted to show on a big stage in a big tournament against a local opponent why I play the Game. Luckly, I got through and made my first GS R32.

After Day 1 of the 3rd round you are tied in winners and set-ratios, how do you see day 2 of play and what are you planning to do to change the things?

I have nothing to lose, since I have no points to defend, so I'll just enjoy myself against number 13 seed Elwin..

In doubles you have been already defeated in the tournament. How do you see your participation in doubles?

I love playing doubles, but we had a tough day. We (me and Daszmarelli) came here after winning Dallas last week, so we had good expectations here in NY, but unfortunately we didn't make it through.

You got to face FaceyFacem in the 2nd biggest stadium of the tournament, how was it to play there?

As I said, I was nervous because I had a awesome Day 1, and I was a little bit scared of Day 2. And, FaceyFacem is a tough opponent.

What are your objectives for the rest of the tournament?

I want to take it day-by-day, and I won't put pressure in myself. Hopefully, I will make a good run here. Who knows I can became a Grand Slam champion, hum? Let's see.

Name 4 players you see winning the singles title and 2 doubles teams

I like Curcubeu's chances. It seems Extremaduratenis and ALYOUNA are always in the later rounds of big tournaments... I would say Meelis is a big name as well.
For doubles, In doubles, I would say Monzanator/Spain07 and Ianto Jones/Kev. are the ones to beat.

Who do you see as the biggest disappointment of the tournament, so far?

Our world number 1, Bennyko, for sure, after a R64 loss. He is the defending champion too right? Correct me if I'm wrong.

What are your goals for the rest of the season?

I want to make as much points as possible this season, because it's my 1st season on tour, so I don't have nothing to defend. Next year, I'll start defending some points, so it will be tougher than it is today.

Do you think the TT ranks represent the reality of TT?

hum, I do.. I really do.

What's your favorite tournament?

My favorite tournament is Roland Garros. there, I got to SF in doubles, my best result to date.

Why did you choose Daszmarelli as your partner?

Actually, when I started playing in January (he started this year as well), I was looking for a long-term partner. In the first 2 months, I played with different partners, and he was unavailable to play with me. Then his partner by the time couldn't play with him, so I offered to play with him. In our first tournament together we won a Challenger. He's a nice partner and I hope to play with him for a long time.

And finally, what are your thoughts on the very discussed topics of the retirement rule and the possibility of a picks sending rule?

Well, I think if there's a retirement in a match, that match should count, even if there tied in sets. Obviously, we can't count SR for that match. About the picks sending rule, I'm not aware of that.

Thank you so much. I hope everyone enjoys it.

You started the tournament beating 19th seed Sexysova on the first round. What do you have to say about that match?

Well, I haven't been in a great shape the last weeks. My best tournament this year was actually the Australian Open, and that seems already so far in the past. So I went into the match without any believe that I could pull it off. But playing freely made me play a great match in the end. Although, it could have gone both ways, as it was a real close match!

How important it was for you to start the tournament beating a seeded player?

Well, for my confidence it was important. But I always know that after beating a seed you will have to play a non-seeded player, which is than harder, because they can play surprising. After 2 rounds, the confidence will be really there!

On the second round you defeated Chinese Elzy Gano being the best scorer of the day. What do you have to say of that day?

Well, I can't believe that. I really hit every ball that I wanted to hit that day. I was actually playing with my opponent, dropshotting her and than the lob. Also playing balls through my legs, no problem at all. I really felt like I could have beaten anybody!

After Day 1 of the 3rd round you are leading by 1 point, how do you see day 2 of play and what are you planning to do to keep that lead?

Well, when in lead, I always try to play not too risky. Sometimes that pays out, because your opponent has to pick risks, but sometimes than you become too afraid of picking 1 or 2 surprising picks. But well, we will see how it works out this time.

In doubles you are also in the second round. How do you see that match?

Well, doubles is a completely different game with much more tactics than in singles. Tactically splitting your pick and discussing about which players you should pick. We are not always agreeing on all picks, so than for sure I am hoping that my pick is the difference. Otherwise I have to root against my favourite player! And of course, playing both singles and doubles at such a big tournament is sometimes tough!

You got to face Kevin. in the biggest stadium of the world, how was it to play there?
Well, I loved it again. I do like to play anyways, but with so many people watching and cheering for you. Although I was not the crowds favourite, after defeating the handsome Sexysova and playing against an American, but after some games where I played amazing tennis, I felt they started to love me. I do feel more big stadium matches are coming up for me after this one! The crowd loved me!
Although, I have to say, I do like the Australian crowd better! :P

What are your objectives for the rest of the tournament?

Well, actually I already succeeded. Winning a few rounds. But actually with a good run here maybe reaching the YEC might be possible, so I will see how far I come!

Name 4 players you see winning the singles title and 2 doubles teams

Well, I always find it hard to say something like that. Of course I do see myself and our team winning the doubles, although that is not really realistic. I guess MH0681 is always a favourite here in her own country! Together with In the zone. And Alyouna is always a favourite, wherever she plays! ;) Also Andreas who has a day rest has a huge chance to reach far.
For doubles, I do love to say Dementieva Dude and In the Zone play together. And I do know that *Jean* is always a favourite outsider, so I see her pairing up with Drake1980 as a threat to our title! ;)
(BTw, I do refer to everybody with her, as it is female tennis, although I know most are men!)

Who do you see as the biggest disappointment of the tournament, so far?

Dissappointments? Here? You tell me even one minor disappointment for this tournament? The organisation is at least perfect!

What are your goals for the rest of the season?

Well, I would love to reach the YEC in something. So I guess we will have to do some good work the last months. But reaching top 30 by the end of the year might be good enough for me!

Do you think the TT ranks represent the reality of TT?

As in real tennis, some players will always win of less talented players, here in TT everything is possible. I do think that in general the rankings do represent the real power levels of players, although part is luck, so you can always lose in the first round of a tournament!

What's your favorite tournament?

I guess I have to say the Australian Open. Although after maybe falling down the rankings next year after the AO, maybe I would say the US Open!

Why did you choose Inger67 as your partner?

We were both looking for a permanent partner and paired up for a couple of weeks to see how it would go. Actually, it was horrible, I was there at every match, and sometimes she would not even come to the court. If I asked her, she said she completely forgot. But well, I loved the way she played, so I continued. And now everything is fine, although she sometimes still forgets, like here in singles! ;)

And finally, what are your thoughts on the very discussed topics of the retirement rule and the possibility of a picks sending rule?

I am also playing TT on MTF. And I do like the rules there. But when I mention this, some people here react that they don't want to have the same game as there. I don't think there is a good rule for retirements, as they always screw up things. Not counting them will screw the people who picked against them, counting them will screw people who picked them, and sometimes counting them starts a discussion on when to count them. I would say, either count them or not count them, it is easier. And be sure, you will also realize that it sometimes goes against you!
On the picks sending rule, I guess you mean that you get punished for not sending. It might be an idea if it happens often to the same player. If not, I would do nothing, as it can happen!

Arantxa Rus

And damnit, you Jarmilla. That was no spirit on the court. She seemed angry at something, don't know what it was. She should have just played 10 % better on the big points and she would have a chance. Well, at least a win in doubles!

Interview with Michael!

http://www.foxnews.com/images/362579/0_61_venus_williams_320.jpg

Name: Michael! is Michael in real life
Country: Germany
Age: 25 (I turn 26 on 2nd Monday of US Open)
Favourite player: Venus Williams, follow her since 1997 with all her up´s and down´s!

When did you start playing? Talk a little about your TT career...

I started to play TT in 2008 and immediately had some pretty good results. My first tournament was some challenger and I won doubles title there with Jovana, who never played a TT tournament again afterwards.

Right now I am satisfied with my achievements and just want to continue play as long as I enjoy it but I should retire before I turn 30 or before I start to take the game too serious, which already happens here and there!

What has been your best moment/carrer highlight in TT? Singles and Doubles?

In singles I won my first WTA title this year in Dubai and also titles in Monterrey and Baku but I reached several finals before in my career (Rome, Brisbane, New Haven, Acapulco, Stockholm, Istanbul etc.)

Biggest doubles highlights so far were for sure Beijing title and YEC final (both 2010) and Bali YEC title (2009).

Biggest highlights with Benny were titles in Brussels and Stanford and finals of Cincinnati and New Haven.

How would you rate your season so far?

well, right now I am top 10 in singles and doubles so I cant complain at all, I won several titles and I have a good position in the races but I have too many ups and downs and I suck at GrandSlams

What are your expectations for this year's Open? Singles and Doubles

well, as I said, I usually suck at slams, in singles I expect nothing, in doubles I would like to reach QF after we had such a great run before but you never can plan or expect anything in TT, it´s not like real tennis

What do you know of your first round opponent (BlackPanther.)? How do you think the match will go?

well, I don´t know much about him. He isnt that popular yet but I know him as I managed tournaments before where he played and I know that he is a smart player, so it will be a tough match for me.

What are your goals for the rest of the year?

finish the year as German No1 in singles and doubles and qualify for Istanbul or Bali in both competitions!

Who do you think are the favourites for the singles and doubles titles?

My crazy sexy doubles partner always does well at slams but the Chinese players are dangerous as well. ALYOUNA, Uncle Jason and Co.

In doubles the American dreamteam ( Dave and Rob) is in great shape but I also expect much from Shaun and Miguel and of course from my Austrian neighbour and his wasted partner!

Who are your biggest rivals on TT?

Paul used to be a big rival but we didn´t face each other lately as he was probably tanking before every possible match with me as he is scared.
In doubles the American divas were our biggest rivals during the US summer.
Biggest rivals for me are normally those who have similar rankings or people you just don´t like but I can´t tell names now obviously :tape:

Which player(s) do you hate to face?

well, I hate it to face TT some postingwhores
I mean, some post all the time, comment or complain on everything and then act like they are GOAT when they beat you. On the other hand those are the same who are not even able to congratulate you when they lose a match, hate it

Do you think the TT ranks represent the reality of TT?

well, it´s tough to say. I mean TT is not real tennis, it is hard to have good results over a year as it is often about luck as well, so the one who is more lucky at Grand Slams has obviously a better rankings, while other players aren´t really worse, just that they have their best results at other tournaments!

What's your favorite tournament?

It depends on the manager and on my results! I obviously enjoy a tournament more when I have some wins and a tournament is always bad for me when you have a bad manager but lately we have really good managers, so I enjoy most tournaments anyway!

Why did you choose Bennyko as your partner?

well, I wanted someone new after 2 years with Tony and Benny was No1 in singles , so he was "attractive" for me and I was glad that he immediately said yes when I asked him to play with me.
He is also one who plays "normal" TT, similar to me, couldnt play with one who goes for crazy upsets all the time!
Also important for me that I like my TT partner as a person and Benny was a friend of me before he was my doubles partner!

Your managers, José and Rui. :D

(P.S. This interview was done a couple of time ago but we forgot to post it after I mistakenly forward it to the wrong rui. :p)

Interview with crazylace01

http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c16/crazylace01/21ex01jjpg.png

Name: Lacy
Country: USA
Age: 27
Favourite player: Klara Zakopalova

When did you start playing? Talk a little about your TT career...

I started playing in the late spring of 2008. I knew at first that y'all couldn't handle me so I didn't play very much. It wasn't until the very end of 2008 that I became a regular player.

What has been your best moment/carrer highlight in TT? Singles and Doubles?

My best moment in singles was in 2009 when I made it to the finals of Wimbledon. My best moment in doubles was in 2008 when I won my first title in one of my very first tournaments.

How would you rate your season so far?

Frustrating and underwhelming. No one takes someone seriously who loses in R1 every other week.

You obviously lost 1st round in the singles but you still rocking in the doubles. Do you think you have what it takes to win the title?

Of course. My partner and I have great chemistry and I believe we have the chance to win every time we step on the court.

What are your goals for the rest of the year?

To get back into the Top 30 in singles and to get to top 20 in doubles.

Who do you think are the favourites for the singles and doubles titles?

For doubles, it's obviously myself and Frank. As far as singes goes, I have no idea. I'm already working on brushing up my français for Quebec City so I've forgotten all about it.

Who are your biggest rivals on TT?

Well everyone beats me in singles, so there's no rivalry there. In doubles though, it's got to be sdtoot and Extremeduratennis. Pretty sure we play them every other round or something.

Whose player(s) do you hate (to face)?

I hate facing my doubes partner in singles. I also hate to face tennisbuddy12, simonsaystennis, and Kevin. But only if they beat me. Otherwise I love it.

Do you think the TT ranks represent the reality of TT?

No, because I should be #1, but whatever. Everything in life is flawed.

What's your favorite tournament?

Any tournament in my adopted home country of the Czech Republic.

Why did you choose Andiyan as your partner? Who's the powerhouse of the team?

Because he's super smart and pretty to look at! And it depends--in ITFs, he's definitely the powerhouse as he's more of an ITF player nerd than I am. The stuff he knows about them is crazy. With WTA tournaments, I think we both bring the same amount of awesome to the table.

Talk a little about your general atitude on-court.. Is the diva in you just a façade to intimidate opponents or were you really born this way?

You'll have to get to know me to find out. :hehehe:

Considering your partner is one of the most vocal players when it comes to rules and the only things you demand are red carpets before your matches let's now reverse positions. What do you think about the retirement rule? What do you think needs to change in TT?

Well, I've certainly managed to get myself in the middle of a couple TT rules debates this year, so you'd really think I'd have more to say about it, but I really don't. I think the board does a great job making decisions with everyone's input, and I hope it stays that way for years to come.

What does your next outfit look like?

Something with sequins. I like to blind my opponents as I'm blasting them with my forehands.

Last but not least... It's your partner's birthday today, what will you get him?

That's for him to know, and for you to speculate. :oh:

Interview with Vincey!

http://26.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lqulevkrY91qktdlxo1_500.jpg

Name: Vincent
Country: Canada
Age: 23
Favourite player: Maria Sharapova

When did you start playing? Talk a little about your TT career...

Hummm it was a long time ago at the beginning of the game I believe. I started pretty well got to #1 in single and double at the same time. Won a few tournments and big ones like RG and the USO in 2006. The next few years the tour got bigger and the pression to defend the points have been tough. I've got a weird syndrom as well, I like to call it the "chinese invasion"..I've developped a kind of bad patern where chinese players just knows how to beat me, it's really strange I have a pretty bad record against them I believe. I've had average to decent season since my first year, manage to peak in the top 15 again close to the top 10 or in the top 10 (in double). My problem seems to struggle to do well in the GS event which cost me alot of precious points.

What has been your best moment/carrer highlight in TT? Singles and Doubles?

Well I've won many titles early on so I don't really remember everything but I'd say in single it's winning RG and the USO the same year alongside with holding the #1 ranking in double an single as well ( I believe I won the RG double and single title that year). I also thought that winning the Fed Cup for Canada was pretty cool, I'm aiming for the Gold medal and the other two slams now! I think what I like about my career so far is that I managed to win at least 1 or 2 tournments every year in double and single.

How would you rate your season so far?

I'd say it's pretty average, I think I won couple of big tournments this year Doha and Miami (I think). At some point before Wimbledon I was in the top 5 in the race, but things have gone downside toward the summer so hopefully I'll step it up again for the fall season coming up.

You lost 1st round in the singles and despite a rather poor effort in the doubles you're through to the round 16.. Will you up your level and go all the way?

Oh well as many people say a win is a win right? Tomek and I love to make impressive comeback like in the last round being 0-2 down after the first day. So it's not how we win that manners but that we manage to beat our opponents, to level up our game enough to past them. That's what we're trying to do and that we will keep on doing. Tight matches make the game a whole lot more interesting, right? As for our chance to go all the way to the title, I think we are a really dangerous team, we surely can go far in this year USO.

What are your goals for the rest of the year?

My goal would be in single to make it to Istanbul ( I think I won a small event, not sure tho) ideally it would be to make it to the YEC but I know I don't have many chances to do that. In double clearly the YEC is at our reach as we are both top 10 in double so I'd say a top 5 finish in the ranking would be pretty nice.

Who do you think are the favourites for the singles and doubles titles?

Well obviously as the number 5 seed we're now the top 2 favorites with Extremaduratenis/Sdtoot. I would keep an eye on Meelis and his partner and also the chinese team of Alyouna. BUt I think anyone that can past this round have really great chance to win the title, at this poin anybody can win and whoever you are it doesn't matter. I have to admit I'm quite surprised to see the top2 seed out already.

Who are your biggest rivals on TT?

I've been playing for a long time so I can't really hold track of any record against players, but I think all the more experience players and I have a pretty fair H2H.

Whose player(s) do you hate to face?

Well obvioulsy the Chinese as I seem to have lots of trouble to beat them and there're so many of them!! Also I hate to face my double partner,Tomek is a good friend and it's so embarassing to crush him in front of thousands of people :(. ( :P ). Also Drake and DD as fellow canadians you don't like to face eachothers, those 2 also have a pretty great TT career so it's always tricky.

Do you think the TT ranks represent the reality of TT?

Well I think it's like the real tour, it represents the results. Anyway TT is sometimes due to luck more than anything so I don't think EVERY players are ranked where they belong but most of them do, and will eventually.

What's your favorite tournament?

I Love the AO and would love to win it, also the Rogers Cup and Quebec City for obvious reason. Going to the USO and RG is always a nice feeling too as a past champion.

Why did you choose Gumoll as your partner? Who's the powerhouse of the team?

I think it all started when I asked for a double partner, he was the first one the reply and I thought it was a pretty good choice. We had good results in our first tournments too so it seemed like the best decision. I like to tease him and say I'm the dominant player but I think we are pretty even in that department, we both make bad picks sometimes and we both save eachother asses. We like to discuss our strange picks and most of the time it kind of pay off. Like the Soler Espinose pick against Kanepi, turned out it was the pick that made us win yesterday.

While many of the young players may not remember you were one of the first number 1 in the game... What keeps you motivated to still keep going?

Well thanks for making me sound so old lol, I'd say that coming back to that #1 spot would be pretty neat! I'm getting close in double with Tomek and that would be a great start, can't deny that being in the top10 in single after so many years would be awesome too.

Continuing with the last question... Canada produced a lot of good players throughout the years.. Drake was the first number 1, then you and then Dementieva_Dude... What is it that makes your country so good in TT?

Ain't that obvious? We're like the Williams and Sharapova we're fierce, strong and utterly sexy!!! lol Obviously I'd be Sharapova in that mix ;)

Having been here for pretty much the whole of TT eternity I would like you to name who are, up until this point, the best singles player ever and the best team also.

Oh that's a really tough question for a LOOOOOOONG time Chris84/Slokid was the absolute best team but they are kinda gone now, no? It surely one of the best team to have ever play the game for sure. In double there was also Drake1980 and his partner who were constantly high in the top10 I believe. Also InTheZone. In single it's a bit tougher, there was some changes there, but I think that chinese guy I think it's Alyouna right? He's been quite immpressive. As for the greater ever I have no idea. Who's number1 right now? Bennyko? He,s been doing well for quite a long time too right?
