I remember back in the summer of 2007, around the time I joined this board, when Chakvetadze was actually a good player. It sure seems like a long fucking time ago.

Not really surprising, I suppose. The longer she's away due to this fainting the more I feel like this issue will end her career.

She was never a slam contender, but the issues affecting her life/tennis/ability to even play are miserable and extremely upsetting, but we don't hear her complain about it like some other players do.

She has a good, simple, tidy game that deserves to be top 15, maybe even top ten, god knows she was able to be top five in a tough year like 2007. Real shame what's happened to her.

I hope she is able to return to tennis with good health and able to do her best again.

The people being assholes in this thread about something like this is just really typical of this place. Disgraceful.

sad to watch such a talented ballstriker like Chak being hampered by health issues...the game needs more talented players like her instead of endless supply of pushers and baseline hoggers. Here's hoping for a quick recovery Anna - you are dearly missed:sad:

That's what you think. Venus a walking bye? Who got past the first round of Wimbledon again? Yeah, that's right, I thought so. Actually, Chaks been losing first round in most of the tournaments she's played. So she's the definition of a walking bye...how ironic.

With all the health issues Serena has gone through, you would think you'd be a little more respectful of someone who is having, albeit completely different, health problems.

Get well soon, inner ear infection? Uh, that ruined a player with possibly more potential than her's career (Molik)

oh ignore it. usless poster came in here to make some smart remark, showed what a moron it is.

the lol thing is a venus fan (who can barely get fit to play these days) trying to mock another player who is ill and struggling to return to tour. :tape:

Was there anything that I said regarding Chakky a lie?

If you want to make a smart mouth comment and say Venus is a walking bye, well, be prepared for a response.

If you can't handle the heat, stay out of the kitchen. Then you have the nerve to get all defensive up there on your high horse.

Anyway, I wish Chakky the best.

Atleast Sammy and other Chakvetadze fans weren't deluded enough to think she was a title contender at the US Open in the first place, unlike you with Venus

it was said to be a viral illness, then she retired again her next tournament in IW. spent some time in hospital and they said it was then some kind of stress related tiredness illness that makes her lack energy. she came back again in stuttgart in which she again ended up on the floor during a match and then spent a week in hospital after. they then said it was an ear infection and she played holland and wimbledon, looking and moving horribley (she didn't make it to a 3rd set in her 2 matches to see what her energy levels were like). that is the last we heard but she hasn't even practiced since then and has pulled out of everything upto and including the us open.

Sad to hear for Anna. Horrible in any case for a player to be forced to withdraw, but even sadder that some thugs seem to have derailed her so significantly (I know it may not be connected but you cant help but wonder.)

Have to question the class of some of her fans though. Just because your girl is ill doesnt give you a pass to insult others. Grow up
