The european team u12 competition final draw will be played next week.

Here's the results of qualifying rounds http://www.tenniseurope.org/page.aspx?id=16493

The 8 teams that make the final draw are Czech Republic, Romania, Portugal, Ukraine, Great Britain, Russia, Serbia and Spain.

This are the nominations by team http://www.tenniseurope.org/file_download.aspx?id=36211

Portugal make the final rounds for the first time, and it's the first time that France is not in the final 8. I'm very happy for spanish team, i thought it was the weakest team from spain in this competition, and even being true that this time we don't have any top player like in the past years (Sorribes, Payola) they prove that are good competitors and show a good level.
My absolute favourite is Great Britain wich have a really strong team, they had a strong team last year too, but they failed in qualifying, this year they won without any problems in the previous rounds. Czech Republic and Romania have a strong teams too, and of course in this competition you have to pay attention to Ukraine and Russia, specially Ukraine that this year has a stronger team than last one

GBR :yeah: I really think we can win it this year! I thought we could win it last year too with Maia Lumsden, Gabriella Taylor and Jazzi Plews, but they didn't do so well.

Yes, GBR last year was really disapointing, they had a really strong team but they didn't even played the play off, but i think this year the team is even stronger. I think Mihkeeva is undefeated in u12 tournaments, and Axon and Swan are really strong players.

And Portugal was a nice surprise, Marta Oliveira has some good results but Italy was favourite in their group

The final will start tomorrow

Group A

Great Britain vs Spain
Ukraine vs Czech Republic

Group B

Russia vs Serbia
Portugal vs Romania

Group A is really strong, in my opinion the two clear favourites to win the tournament are Ukraine and Great Britain, now we know they can't face in the final because they are in the same group. Czech Republic is a strong team too.

I think the most important match in group B it will be the Russia vs Romania, because in my opinion they are the favourites to play the final on that group

Is Andreea the sister of Ioana or is it just a common name like Bogdan and Radu?

Common name. The first sponsor for Andreea was a greek company.

I am so proud of spanish girls. When the competition started i didn't think they coulp pass the qualification round, so i was positively surprised when they defeated France on the play off.
I knew they are a very compact team, Rebeka, Noelia and Eva (with Carla Pons and Paula Arias, Paula is a year younger) are the ones who dominated u12 in spain, and they are all almost the same level, with tight h2h against each other. But i thought they were very far from the level of european tops.
When the groups were announced i thought the only i can hope is they avoid heavy losses, but they prove me wrong, and they score some nice victories against top european players. It's a pity that the team has not a good doubles, but i'm really happy how they progress in the last couple of months and how competitive they are

Andreea Rosca is so good

She's a bomb and definately somebody to watch out. Probably among the Top 3 player of her age. Let's hope she doesn't become CÓrstea 2.0 who had also big success at that age. :)

Well done Romania! :worship:

Final can come!

It's hard to become Cirstea 2. Andreea doest't have so much money as Sorana had. Without a sponsor it will be very hard for her to participate from next year at more than 5 international tournaments (abroad) per year.

Therefore it's so important for her to have good results. The wins she had during this tournament are a great appliance for some sponsors! :D

I think Andreea is the only girl who is undefeated in u12 tournaments (Mikheeva was undefeated till this final rounds)
