Yanina is back for the short grass season. She plays in Holland where she reached the finals in 09 against GRASS-GOAT Tamarine Tanasugarn.Last year she decided to go to Eastbourne, but lost 61 61 to Kim Clijsters in the very first round. However, this year she has decided to come back to Holland.Draw is done, there is:

[1] K Clijsters (BEL) vs. M Niculescu (ROU)
Qualifier vs. Qualifier
L Dominguez Lino (ESP) vs. A Chakvetadze (RUS)

[4] F Pennetta (ITA) vs. A Bondarenko (UKR)
J Dokic (AUS) vs. A Kudryavtseva (RUS)
R Marino (CAN) vs. J Larsson (SWE)
[WC] K Flipkens (BEL) vs. [8] K Zakopalova (CZE)

I like her draw,I´d give her a good chance to reach the SFs at least :)

It's a nice draw.

Grass can be a bit random, as it's played for a few weeks only. But if she is in some decent form, she should go deep:cheer:

good luck vs Brianti:)

Good luck Yanina :rocker:

Nice draw :)

GL Nina! :rocker:

Jun 13th, 2011, 12:26 PM
good start,64 60 over Brianti :cheer:

Yanina does look comfortable on clay, also her serve worked very well today :).She had to run a lot today, since Brianti used quite a lot of drops, but was Yanina was usually sucessful running over them

r2 against APS,who has a very good serve when ON,could be tough

Jun 13th, 2011, 12:39 PM
Very nice start :bigclap:

was this match streamed? I somehow missed out on it:(

good luck against Parra Santonja!

Jun 13th, 2011, 12:41 PM
Yes it was streamed :p
I watched a little bit of it, and from what I say, Yanina looked good out there. :worship:

Jun 14th, 2011, 07:11 PM
Yeah, indeed it was a solid match from her.
In the first set Brianti was playing quiet good but after that she totaly lost it.

Yanina escaped 7:6 6:7 7:5 over Parra Santonja

I didn't see it, but Parra Santonja has the type of game that can be very tough on grass :p
Also Yanina got hit in the eye and had problems for part of the second set, but after that it was much easier. Now on to the QF's, vs. (7) Vinci :bounce:

Jun 16th, 2011, 01:32 PM
she lost 64 64 to Vinci

she played really bad in the bits I saw :her:.Better luck in Wimbledon, there are 3r pts to defend :awww:

Jun 16th, 2011, 04:44 PM
Oh noes:sobbing:

better luck at Wimbledon:hug:

Uch  But was scared for it after her match against Parra Santonja. Really to much up and down.

Wimbledon R1 vs. Lepchenko :bounce:

Jun 20th, 2011, 01:36 PM
win over Lepchenko 75 63 :)

Close one, saving a SP in the 1st set:unsure: but win's a win:)

Jun 20th, 2011, 01:40 PM
Nina :yeah:,she needs to play better though, and Lepchenko fell and was injured midway the 2nd set :awww:

she saved 2SPs in the 1st set :p,one of them was an ace on 2nd serve  :p.Next is Tathisvili from Georgia, who beat Pivovarova 36 62 63.Yanina played her at Charleston this year, and won 64 75;I expect a similar score this time.GL :)

Jun 20th, 2011, 01:53 PM
I actually even remember that ace on 2nd serve:lol: but I'm slow can't remember the score. And it felt like there were a million SP for her before she closed the 1st set out.

Lepchenko's fall was unfortunate of course:awww: and it could have been tighter for sure, but kudos to her for finishing the match, not retiring:yeah:

Jun 20th, 2011, 02:01 PM
If I remember well, she took her 3rd SP.Lepchenko had GPs to make it to TB :p

And yes,Lepchenko did a fine job not retiring, but I guess her fall wasn´t than bad.Tipsarevic could learn a bit about how to finish a match

Jun 20th, 2011, 05:22 PM
Yanina :woohoo:

Jun 23rd, 2011, 01:01 PM
to the 3rd round :) beat Tatishvili 36 64 62

tougher than it had to be, but the stats are quite nice

next: Kuznetsova.:scared:

Jun 23rd, 2011, 01:07 PM
that court had cameras, but somehow I couldnt find a stream anywhere,so dunno how was the match

I guess she recovered after a slow start, and the stats are positive for both,so everything´s good :cheer: :p

BTW,I don´t remember the last time Yanina hit 8 aces in a match(Riske´s match last year here?)

Hope she beats Kuznetsova,H2H 0-2,with the 2 wins coming in the summer in USA,one in 09,the other last year. But GL Yanina :cheer:

Good luck against Sveta! :cheer:

Whoopie's on TV in 'merica right now! :hearts:

Where is everybody?

Jun 24th, 2011, 01:20 PM
Awesome stuff :worship:

Jun 24th, 2011, 01:23 PM

I didn't have too much hope for the win considering she needed 3 sets to beat Tatishvili. But she started playing better and better.

Next the title favorite Kvitova:scared: or Vinci.

Come on!:cheer:

Jun 24th, 2011, 01:59 PM
It was an amazing quality match,so glad Nina came out on top :bounce:

This has to be her best match this short grass season without a doubt :p.She played very solid, attacking tennis, not afraid of coming to the net, serving well and playing hard.Really great stuff :worship:

The match point was wonderfully epic, may it was the best point of the match. To sum up,really impressed with her fighting spirit and her determined looks, and looking forward to her first 4R at Wimbledon ever :)

Jun 27th, 2011, 01:22 PM
lost 0&2 to Kvitova :sobbing:

The Czech was unplayable, noone could have beaten her playing like that.It was a good tournament nonetheless

Hope she bounces back and has a great summer season

Jun 27th, 2011, 01:29 PM
How are you supposed to win if the first touch of your opponent is an instant winner:rolleyes:

Kvitova keeps beating my favorites:o now she better win this title.

Disappointed a little, but what you gonna do. Yanina held to her seed at least:)
