View Full Version : Natalia Siedliska

Born: 09/12/1995

You probably haven't heard about her because she's completely ignored in Poland as she lives in Germany and doesn't play any tournaments in Poland. IMO she's currently Poland's best prospect born after 1992. She just reached a SF in a 10k in Portugal.

Good luck to her :yeah:

Yes, I completely haven't heard of her.
Just saw the history of her career and still I think that Maciejewska is our biggest prospect.
Natalia was barely winning matches in juniors and now the semi in Portugal. Hmm... still good luck to her. ;)

That's true but she basically has played junior tournaments only when she was 13-14, so losing isn't that surprising. Natalia definitely seems to have imrpoved a lot. And well, Maciejewska is still to achieve anything more significant that height records ;)

top100 in juniors is significant in Polish conditions. :p

Lost 3:6, 0:6. I hope this semifinal was not only because of her lucky draw (beat 2 unranked players on her way) and she'll have some more good results soon.

Well, her last 2 wins where over really good players (Rizzollo beat last week's RU and the other girl was in SF herself), so these are good wins and 10k SF is certainly a bigger achievement than Top 100 in juniors (which isn't hard at all in Polish conditions) :p

29 Head Cup Bruchkoebeler Jugendturnier Germany
28 Jun 2011 to 03 Jul 2011 Entry: DA Clay (O)
64 W Noemi HEMMERICH (GER) 6-2 3-6 6-4
32 W Nina KHRISANOVA (RUS) 6-0 6-4
16 L Tayisiya MORDERGER (GER) 2-6 4-6

Morderger beat Maciejewska a week later in three sets so she was in form.
Too bad Siedliska doesn't play Polish Championships so we would see what her level is just to compare to other players. :)

What is Natalia's style of play? I'm asking as she's the biggest enigma in Poland for me now :p

Other juniors:

Nalborska - pusher with some good slices, some nice variety
Maciejewska - strong serve, great variety, lot of power but inconsistent, fragile mentality
Lewandowska - ballbasher at it best, solid serve, strong mentally
Baranska - the champion of one hit  strong serve, a lot of shrieks

But all those girls are 177 cm and taller so Natalia's style might be very different.

She just won her first round match in 10k in Spain, and as she won 7 points in her two others previous tournaments, she will be have WTA rank on August 22nd with 8 points at least, so nice debut in rankings, in at least top1100.

Good luck to continue your progress, and in her next match in Spain.

This time it should be easier, she will play against Zovincova who won her first 4 ITF matches here :)

Jerem
Nov 9th, 2013, 01:51 PM
Indeed, but Natalia could also feel tired after all the matches she has played since the start of last week (even if she has played only two three-setters out of 9 matches so far). Still, she will be the favourite this time :)

Whatever happens tomorrow, the good thing is that she will jump to at least #680 in 8 days with this performance (#645 if she wins), allowing her to be seeded more often in these 10k's. That means better starts in 2014, and not mentioning that she will turn 18 in a month so she will be able to play a little more then.

That's not that surprising actually. She has been living and training in Germany for years, barely played any tournament in Poland while she has played many in Germany (sometimes entering with WC's)... I had been fearing that for a long time :tape:

Polski-Tenis.pl got some informations about that. Lack of support from the Polish Tennis Association, refusals she received when applying for a WC in Polish tournaments. On the other side, she has been living in Germany for 9 years and has the dual citizenship; there she has training support and sponsors.

Siedliska gra już w niemieckich barwach

Natalia Siedliska w turnieju we francuskim Gonesse po raz pierwszy walczy jako Niemka.

Utalentowana 19-latka w zawodowej karierze wygrała osiem futuresów (jeden w singlu i siedem w grze podwójnej).

Natomiast, gdy ja prosiłam o jakąkolwiek pomoc (np. w postaci dzikich kart do turniejów), to zawsze dostawałam odmowną odpowiedź – napisała Siedliska w oświadczeniu.

Natka wyjechała do naszych zachodnich sąsiadów dziewięć lat temu. Nadal ma dwa paszporty – polski i niemiecki. W Niemczech dostaje wsparcie treningowe. Tu też znalazła sponsorów.

Siedliska zajmuje obecnie 794. miejsce w rankingu WTA (najwyżej była 626). W deblowej klasyfikacji jest 424.

Interesting, but somewhat surprising to be honest because I'm not sure she will get much support from the German tennis association either. They're always strapped for cash, too, and at least from her results so far I don't think she is a candidate for the Porsche Talent Team (the members of which do get meaningful financial support).

Jerem
Mar 16th, 2015, 03:24 PM
Maybe she will have more support than in Poland anyway (it's not the first time the Polish Tennis Association is criticized in that regard), and in German tournaments she already got WC's in the past. Wait and see! But I guess she knows what she does...

WOMEN’S TENNIS INKS NATALIA SIEDLISKA

MOBILE, Ala. – Head coach Jaco Keyser announced Tuesday that Natalia Siedliska has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the women's tennis program for the 2015-16 academic year.

A native of Poland that currently resides in Hamburg, Germany, Siedliska holds a No. 822 singles ranking by the ITF.

"I'm very excited to have Natalia join our tennis program," Keyser said. "She's an extremely talented player with plenty of worldwide experience and success, as is evident through her WTA rankings."

One of the top Polish juniors, Siedliska has won six ITF doubles titles and one ITF singles crown in her career. She attained a No. 626 singles ranking in August and was ranked as high as No. 446 in doubles.

"Natalia doesn't just share our vision to become an elite tennis program, but she also has professional ambitions," Keyser said. "The future definitely looks bright with one of the top recruiting classes in the nation for the 2015-16 academic year."
