Singles First Round Bottom Half

Kerstin Van Evangelizaan def. [3]Mélina Ljungljung 6-3, 6-3
Shocker of the day. Easy start for the Zimbabwe girl against the world number three.

Kandy Marshmellow def. Jawaskraya Loordinia 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(4)
This match might become more important than one would think. Kandy wins her first ever match on the tour.

Julie Lee def. Noemi Baldini 6-0, 6-0
A double-bagle, or how we call it in German, "eine Brille" for the Italian girl who has yet to win a match on the junior tour.

Khunyah Nomyan def. [6]Ndjamena Zinaida Naaumy 6-3, 7-5
This was a shocker. Big surprise for the Thai number two.

[SE]Chantal Chan def. [8]Mpule Kwaleglobe 5-7, 7-6(5), 7-5
The senior who is still a junior gives Mpule her maiden loss. Mpule wasted two match points in the second and three in the third set.

[SE]Berenika Wojnarowska-Wisniewska def. Trine Jacobsen 7-5, 6-0
Two seniors are in the draw and they both win their first round matches. Time for a senior fight in juniors.

Klentjie Jantjes def. Maria Broseghini 6-2, 7-5
No contest. Maria is only strong in doubles where she is seeded second.

[2]Veronica Olivier def. Noppawan Lertroo-Alungkarn 6-0, 6-0
Impressive start for the world number two.

Doubles First Round Top Half

[1]Arcangioli/Saikikimbondwe def. BYE
The French girl is topseeded at her home Grand Slam. This team is ready to rock!

Chan/Chan def. [WC]Chazal/Daubigney 6-0, 7-6(5)
French wild-cards without chance. The junior/senior team from Hong Kong were impressive.

Anastidis/Jantjes def. Haas/Haas 6-3, 7-5
Greece and South Africa defeat the Austrian twins.

[4]Ircha/Saville def. BYE
The Aussies are seeded. What can they achieve here?

Singles First Round Top Half

[1]Xhakalinda Saikikimbondwe def. Astrid Haas 7-5, 6-1
Easy win for the number one player.

Alexandra Anastidis def. [WC]Luka Paeni 6-2, 6-2
No contest.

Miranda Frost def. [WC]Valeria Preobrazhenskaya 6-4, 6-0
Good start into the tournament for Miranda. She won 12 games in a row after being 0-4 down in the first set.

[7]Julie Saville def. [WC]Fabienne Daubigney 6-1, 6-1
Impressive stuff from the Australian top junior.

[5]Manon Arcangioli def. [WC]Ricarda Piñeda 6-3, 7-5
The French number one had to fight her way through her opener but she pulled out the victory.

Justine Du Partenaire def. Carol Chan 6-2, 6-2
What happened to Carol? She seemed to be so absent throughout the match. Justine rocked!

Nicole Haas def. [WC]Julie Chazal 6-1, 6-0
The Austrian did it better than her twin sister and opened a bakery against the French wild-card.

Zaelly Ircha def. [4]Anna Smith 6-3, 7-5
Australian number two defeats American number one in straight sets. Definitely a shocker!

Doubles First Round Bottom Half

[3]Baldini/Olivier def. bye
Veronica rocks in singles but doubles success has yet to be found for this team.

[Alt]Kwaleglobe/Loordinia def. Lertroo-Alungkarn/Nomyan 7-6(5), 7-5
Mpule had expected to team up with Xhakalinda but the Namibian chose to play with Manon Arcangioli. Mpule then agreed to play with Jawaskraya in the last minute and this combo has found some success early on. Straight sets win against the Thai!

Smith/Wojnarowa-Wisniewska def. Du Partenaire/Van Evangelizaan 7-5, 6-0
Disappointing performance from the Canuck/Zimby team who bowed out to the better-known Anna and Berenika.

[2]Broseghini/Naaumy def. bye
Let's call them favorites. They won the biggest event so far without dropping a single set...

Singles Second Round

Kandy Marshmellow def. Kerstin Van Evangelizaan 7-5, 6-2
Kandy wins two matches in a row, this time against the African newcomer.

[SE]Berenika Wojnarowska-Wisniewska def. [SE]Chantal Chan 7-6(3), 7-6(3)
Two identical sets separate the senior players, Chantal held set points in both sets...

[5]Manon Arcangioli def. Justine Du Partenaire 6-3, 7-5
The French top player won another match in her favorite tournament.

[1]Xhakalinda Saikikimbondwe def. Alexandra Anastidis 3-6, 7-5, 7-5
The world number one saved match points at 3-5 in the second set and recovered from what would have been her very first singles loss.

Zaelly Ircha def. Nicole Haas 6-3, 7-5
Surprisingly easy win for the lower-ranked Australian.

Miranda Frost def. [7]Julie Saville 4-6, 7-5, 7-6(0)
Miranda prevents Australia from having two quarter-finalists and slides through. Next stop is number one Saikikimbondwe.

Julie Lee def. Khunyah Nomyan 7-6(5), 7-6(2)
Asian duel won by Hong Kong. Julie bitchfought her way past the Thai number two who didn't even shake hands in the end. DRAMA!!!

Klentjie Jantjes def. [2]Veronica Olivier 7-6(3), 6-7(3), 7-6(5)
This is the biggest upset of the week. Klentjie shocks Veronica and takes her out in three tie-breaks. The South African faces Wojnarowska-Wisniewska next.

Doubles Quarter Finals Top Half

Chan/Chan def. [1]Arcangioli/Saikikimbondwe 7-6(2), 4-6, [10-8]
Big upset for the Hong Kong girls as they take out the topseeded team in a match tie-break. Xhaka's and Manon's success from singles cannot seem to be transformed to doubles. Carol hopes to make it two titles in a row.

[4]Ircha/Saville def. Anastidis/Jantjes 7-6(6), 7-5
The Australians move on to the semi-finals in straight sets. They will face seed shocker Chan/Chan next.
