Kvitova's first serve % was toooo low and also her returns were not so good while usually its a big strength.
Petra had some big problems when she thought to have hit a winner or forced an error the ball kept comming back and on most ocassions she lost the point.

neverthless i'm really happy for Petra but I hope she won't emberass herself in further round, tho Na Li has also sucked her way trough the semifinal.

Kvitova at her worst in set 1 :o

But she got it together in the last two and played decently. Top 10 :hearts:

Well, this was a really strange match and sometimes downright horrible. Talk about "winning ugly". Both girls had about -30 ratio between winners and unenforced errors.

Congrats Petra, but please play better against Na Li.

Curious match. Petra doesn't really seem like a clay goddess or anything, bit brainless sometimes. Also, her movement on clay is suspect.

Well done Petra... I wasn't believing after the 1st. set loss but great performance... :yeah:

Now get the better of lucky Li.

Hideous match but well done to Petra on the top 10. Would be interesting to see if she makes YEC this year.

I only watched the 2nd half of the match and I felt Cibulkova was slightly better player, perhaps because of Kvitova's lazy movement at times.

Some good hitting I thought. The stats are ugly, but there were a lot of forced errors and the rallies were longer than you'd expect from these two.

Top 10, yeah! :bounce:

These two both hit well from the baseline. Errors yes, but the rallies were better than some horror shows I've seen from other players before :tape:

What a great SF lineup :hearts:

Azarenka, Goerges, Li, and Kvitova for a clay Premier

Very impressive with the way she turned it around.

Surprisingly there were some very good rallies in this match. The fact that Petra is able to put bad patches completely out of her mind and play one point at a time is so advantageous for her. Well deserved place in the Top10. :yeah:

I don't think it's too much to ask for her to beat Li.

First match I've watched in ages. Good claycourt fest even if alot of errors. Shame Domi couldn't come through it, she seemed in perfect control up until mid second set.

A barker in the Top 10, I'm expecting some apocalipse after this achievement.
When I look at it much better, it's totally weird. Barkova is No. 10.
Whatever - deserved. (?) :D

I´d take a (not that frequent) "barker" over a hyper-emotional "Ajde(r)" and a horrible choker any day. ;)

Your choice. We´ll see who will have better tennis career in the end. I was only pointing out that it´s extremely absurd to complain about Kvitova´s "barks" when your own fave is "AJDEing" all the time like some crazy psycho person who belongs to an asylum. ;););)

At times this was UUUUGLEEE, but Petra was the one dictating more and I'm glad she won. Her movement at times though was :o Slipping all over the place at times.

So I saw nearly all of this in chunks I DVRed mostly by accident ( @ ES for all the last minute broadcasting schedule changes over the last few days), and it was indeed quite bad from Kvitty in the beginning. Her ROS should be set to a laugh track, and at times she was so sluggish and erratic it defied description. Her BH in particular suffered a lot from her lazy footwork -she kept taking the ball too late from that side. Of course she's always fun to watch even when she's playing this shite because of her astonishing ballstriking skills.

Cibulkova played a very good first set, retrieving (superbly) when necessary and doing an excellent job at keeping herself in rallies and picking the right moments to counterattack (something she still struggles to do, too often settling for ballbashing full-time, with dire consequences). I have no idea why she began bashing early in the second when her tactics were working so well until then. Some good rallies in the third set, but also a lot of sloppy play from both. Great effort from Cibulkova to save those 3 consecutive MPs when it was already too late as her serve had deserted her a few games before.

Welcome to the most rubbish WTA top ten ever, Kvitty. :hearts:
