View Full Version : What do you think of Goerges serve?

The first time I saw Goerges service motion it reminded me of Gigi Fernandez. Not that fluent and beautiful but more aggressive.

She kinda stops in between the motion and the way she moves her right arm back looks a little awkward. But it's an elegant motion and she's able to produce emense power.

I never thought she could serve like 200 km/h. But she almost does!

A decent shot . She can, and will improve it hopefully.

The good thing about it is that it is so consistent and it is turning into a weapon of her game these days :yeah:.

Seems very effective

I hate the rest of her game however.

I think it IS quite fluent. ... compared to the bloody horror shows we get from half the WTA, it's a nice looking serve. Fernandez had like the most fluent serve ever...

Very effective serve..specially that kick-serve 2nd serve. Is totally fooling Caro.

I actually love her game and technique, it reminds me of Golovin's and Vakulenko's :hearts: Although I hope Julia won't have the same injury-problems like those 2.

Something that hasn't been mentionned: she has great placement. Her wide serve is particularly impressive.

Julia's serve is hard/fast yet fluid, sexy and well thought-of and disguised. Which is why anticipation-expert Wozniacki is too often clueless of the direction and depth of even the second serve.

Her service motion reminds me of Tatiana's, just with a lot more wrist. Verry good looking, and very effective too. Particularly her serves out wide are brilliant.

I think that it has improved immensely from what it was about a year or so ago in terms of consistent raw power. Back then, Julinha already could crank it up to 185-195 km/h on occasion, but would then settle for just spinning her serve in for several games in a row. It was a very intermittent, unreliable serve. Now she can hold serve easily almost solely on account of her serve, even on a slow surface, in half or more of her own service games, which is close to Vaidisovan levels of effectiveness.

And a year ago she most certainly didn't have the magnificent kicker out wide to the ad court she hits now.
