Did it happen before that a player won a tournament with playing every single match in three sets?

i would bet it happened a milion times, but too lazy to look it up.

Of course, it happened more often on a lower tier level.

^Close but no, her first match was 6-4 6-4 the rest were 3 sets. Paris 2010

I remember Capriati having to play alot of 3 set matches on her way to winning AO 02. Does anyone know how many straight set matches she won that year? I can remember every match she played in AO 01 but not her AO 02 title.

No to Capriati AO 02, there were a couple of 2 setters

btw. I though Chakve could have one or two of those but no, close though...
