View Full Version : The Complete Players on Tour

Who are the players on tour with the most complete games? Meaning they pretty much have all the shots and skills (aside form mentality). Regardless of if they use it productively or not who are they?

First two that come to mind are Kuznetsova and Pavs.

What others?

None.

Pavs? Though yeah I agree with Sveta.

I'd probably say Serena. Also Justine and Amelie if they were still playing.

Radwanska can hit most/all of the shots, she just doesn't have the power.

You mean her mechanical volleys? :tape: Sorry, she just isn't a good volleyer and that's why her game can't get to a higher level. When you don't have power you need other natural skills like volleys. She just doesn't have them.

Vika can do essentially anything on the court, i think her volleys are some of the best on the womens tour.

Yeah Pavs, why not?

And Henin, Mauresmo. I didn't say Serena because her finesse is questionable and her slice is :tape:

Still, she needs a better serve. It's too attackable. The top girls are eating it for breakfast. These youngsters all still have pretty big flaws in their games.

As much as I don't want to, but yeah agreed.

Stop. Just stop.

You bitch a lot like you Jesus or something, but never back anything up. Why not. Good serve, very solid strokes, good power, can volley, slice, finesse, movement all well.

Kim Clijsters, she knows how to do almost everything. Her main weakness being her volley (and her serve lately).

I agree with what you mean about compensating for the lack of power, but although her volleying isn't perfect, but it's far better than a number of the others'. You don't really win doubles titles (like she did recently) if you're hooking volleys out the back of the court constantly.

The fact that she lacks the raw power to smash outright winners past people is far more of an issue.

Zvonareva.

Yeah, this is a good example. A routined player that fine-tuned her abilities. She can do a bit of everything.

V. Zvonareva
S. Kuznetsova
S. Williams
K. Clijsters
J. Henin
F. Schiavone?
N. Petrova?

I think we can count F. Schiavone as well. She definetly fine-tuned her abilities and got the best out of them. Doing a bit of everything. Maybe N. Petrova? She certainly can do a bit of everything. And i'm interested to see how Peng develops further, she can certainly turn into someone that can do a bit of everything.

Yeah, schnyder is another example. Got the best out of herself fine-tuning all her skills.

Yeah Pavs, why not?

And Henin, Mauresmo. I didn't say Serena because her finesse is questionable and her slice is :tape:

Well to me she doesn't seem that good a volleyer. That's all.

And yeah I totally know what you mean. Most of her finesse shots are ugly or awkward looking. But I guess she gets the job done.

Movement? Give me a break. There's always been something "missing" when it comes to BMS, particularly in the intangibles category.

If Bethanie Mattek is the standard then there's like 50 to 75 players that should be on this list

Could you be any broader?

And Kvitova? She's future GOAT no doubt, but not a complete player.

BMS lacks the ability to maintain A RALLY. How bout that for lack of variety. If you want proof just switch your tv on.:wavey:

I would say Venus actually although no one will agree with me. I would say Serena on good days too. Svetlana and Schiavone can really do it all.
