What a week for Anastasia so far :hearts: Proving that win over Marion wasn't just down to Marion's lack of clay court abilities  Really excited for what she can achieve here this week now and at RG having beaten last years RG Finalist  !!

Disgusting stuff from Sam. So passive, didn't try and move anasatsia around the court at all. Losin the first set with those serve stats is awful.

35 errors...:(

Anastasia is improving a lot though, would be goo to see her to something big sooner or later. Please back this win up, so it isn't just another crap loss to add to Sams tally

 Even as an admirer of the Pavlyuchenkova game, I would have never predicted this shit.

I thought for sure Anastasia was about to lose in three again from a set and a break up. However at *4-3 in the 2nd set, Jokesur decides to throw in that indecisive, random, and useless slice that she's been using all year and blew BP only to lose the game in the end.

Any Stosur loss is always welcomed.

Impressive, great win.

This tournament (this really fast clay court) suits the game of the big hitters.
Kvitova, Pavl, Görges or Na Li in quarters underline that.

It was a great match of Pavl. - no break in the 1st set, she won the set although she was unable to handle Stosurs serve - excellent performance in the 2nd set with the early break and the important service-win from 4-2 to 5-2.

Pavl. finally finds her form and finally go up the rankings onto the top 12...

Now beat Görges to reach the semifinal.

Nastia against Julia should be good. This half is interesting, some new faces.

Nastya played well and prepared to win this match and she did.

Stosur's movement is crap, her backhand is helpless, she's used to run around her forehand and hammer those balls in every corners in the court but nothing is impressive today. She did well to come up with good points with good serve and nice spin forehands but Nastya was too good today, she knows what she needs to do.

Well Sam  it is hard to maintain the level you had last year, but at least hang in there, you can do it :yeah:

Yes i know.
But i think she can reach Top 12 in the next weeks.

For the top 10, she has to be more consistent.

Sad to see Sam lose to players like that.

I still hope she can make another good run at the French to remain deeply inside of the Top10.

She adds some desperately needed variety to the pushing and moonballing and retrieving which women's tennis has become nowadays.

Unfortunately, she's a serious, serious headcase.

Still bitter about Arn or what? Nastya clearly deserves that win and she's not moonballing, pushing or retrieving. Though I admit Sam's variety is really great, especially the variety of BH-Errors.

Really bizarre results this week  :o Schiavone and Stosur, the RG winner and finalist, both losing to players who normally don't do too well on clay? I realize Madrid is playing faster and all but still...

RG is not here yet. This is Madrid.

In any case, it's highly unlikely Sam and Fran will make the final again. Even men's tennis is not this consistent. But it will be nice to see Sam at least make it deep.

What a crazy tournament. All the seeds dropping like flies. I think I'll just give the trophy to Azarenka.

Sam is playing Rome, which she missed last year. It should hopefully make up for her early exits in Charleston and Madrid. She still needs to perform well at the French though.

Rome was played this time last year so she needed to do something her to cushion points....whatever she did in Madrid last year she defends in Rome this year
