It's starting remind me of the downhill path Henin and Mauresmo had right before they retired... :tape:

Its shocking and sad to see such an amazing talent ...someone who SHOULD be WORLD #1 and Grand Slam champion...no make that MULTIPLE slam champ...become such a basketcase losing to idiots for brains out there...it makes me mad...if she had as much anger and desire to be the best and get angry at herself for her disgusting use of her INCREDEBLE talent...

Jelena lacks that edge...that hunger to be better than anyone else at any cost...she doesnt have IT...she has all the natural gifts god gave her..movement/ ball striking ability....tennis talent that is second to none...and what has she done? she has misused those gifts more than any top player in HISTORY....it makes me sick.

This girl is far more talented than Caroline...sorry Wozniacki fans this isnt even a fight...talent wise JJ is better but Caroline is #1? it makes no sence...and its all JJ fault. she didnt want it enough...and she is not getting younger!

GIRL GET IT TOGETHER! more focus more anger more resuls...less primping and dont make excuses!

At least she's not on 7 match losing streak anymore.

She'll be fine. Madrid's been a weird tournament all round this year. :p

Hmmm henin retired as world number 1 in her first retirement while her 2nd ended with an injury and it wasn't quite bad considering her not playing since Wimbledon.

Jankovic is burnt out, but she's locked in the endless grind of the tour.

She has talked about that she still has the ability to play at her best of '07 & '08, but during those times it came more natural to her. Now to reach that level, she has to concentrate and focus more AKA she's burnt out.

She needs a break from tennis, however, she's too greedy to ever take one.

Is it over?

I think it is. :bigcry: x 10000 Her performances in tournaments since Doha give me that feeling - there's just no desire to fight in her and therefore losses to everyone not utterly abysmal. With her innate lack of focus and ambition, I've never expected her career to last very long, but I'm still gutted - I expected an injury, or improved comeptition or a loss of stamina due to getting older to end it, not a lack of interest at the moment when the field is as weak as it gets. But then again, Jelena has never been inspired when playing scrubs, she liked playing champions in big matches, so maybe the boredom did her in? :oh:
Anyway, it's such a terrible shame, she was a wonderful player.

For the record in Rome 2010 she did beat both Venus and Serena back to back, which is within the last year... BUT! she is clearly not motivated and not concentrated on tennis enough. I mean she looks fitter then ever, hits the ball harder then ever, her serve has improved as much as it could, BUT! it doeasn't matter because her head is not really there now. she thinks of somethinf else, she used to be a fighter (I remember the eurosport commentators calling her "a tough cookie" - and she was). she was trouble to any player on the tour... these days she cant even keep up two decent rallies in a row, going for some crazy winners, and missing some easy balls... her movement is ok, but yet she seems late on almost every ball. I recently saw a point of hers from Madrid 2010 against Ana, where she was in the middle of the court the whole time, she didnt have the power to outhit Ana, but she was in a commanding position moving her side to side, and eventualy won the point. now she is either hitting like crazy, or just waiting for an error from her oponent... she needs Chip Brooks back (and that ain't gonna happen so...)...

Jelena has a space to improve, no need to think she's done. She's one of those who can still play at the age of 35.
She can flip her results onto the better side in the upcoming weeks. Yes it's been a roller-coasting season, but she can pass over it.

Well, I hope she will be better at Rome., she always plays here well. Her BHDTL has to back...if she works on it her game will be fine. Yesterday she has plenty of occassions to make good BHDTL but she made errors.

Jelena has had a terrible year, she needs to walk away and cler her head...take a year off and come back with new goals and a fresh outlook on the game
