Players who would be MD but didn't enter: Lauren Davis, Saisai Zheng, Timea Babos, Sloane Stephens, Grace Min, Madison Keys, So-Ra Lee, Gabrielle Faith Andrews, Kyle McPhillips

I don't understand why the USTA isn't encouraging the younger Americans to play, it would be a good experience.

Not sure I would put Barty as a favorite right away, she hasn't played many of the older, bigger, more athletic juniors yet (though there are only a handful with that description). Her match against Danka should be interesting, she hasn't played a junior with that much power yet. It is amazing how easy Barty's scorelines are when she breezes through junior tournaments though.

Domenica :( Her serve must be really bad, because Zanevska broke her about 8 times :tape: Gonzalez won a lot of points and broke Zanevska few times also. Unfortunately, Maryna won this match... Domenica

Tang had 5-3 40*-15 in first set, but lose 5-7 :( now is 0*-4 in third set :help:
really interesting match on Court #5 - Malova vs Jaksic. There is 75 26 22

Actually Monicas birthday is at the end of september, or a third of a year away. From that way people try to make Irina younger you would had thought that she played today on court with diapers and a rattler.

Yes!...all of Puerto Rico(and the entire media) are following her career closely....Vilmarie, Kristina and Gigi were all great tennis players and we are all very proud of their great accomplishments. Monica is young with a very promising future.

For a little taste of how Puerto Ricans and many other great fans are reacting to her accomplishment visit her facebook page:

Kan probably has Asian blood in her as Uzbekistan is near the Mongolian/China area, same reason why some Kazakhs look very Asian as well. I was quite shocked to see how Asian she looked as well when I first saw her.

Ons Jabeur wins girls’ singles title
Sunday, June 5, 2011
By Jean-François Rodriguez
http://www.rolandgarros.com/images/pics/large/b_0605_jabeur33.jpg

Ons Jabeur became the first girl from North Africa to win a junior Grand Slam title, defeating no.5 seed Monica Puig 7-6, 6-1 in the girls' singles final. The Tunisian, who will turn 17 years old in two months' time, struggled to overcome her Puerto Rican opponent in the first set before cruising away in the second.

Her title sees her emulate fellow Tunisian Mustapha Belkhodja, who won the French Open boys' singles title in 1956.

The match could have gone either way, with Puig putting her backhand to good use by saving two set points at 4-6 and 6-7 in the first-set tie-break. The Puerto Rican, who made the final at the Australian Open, had a chance to take charge of the breaker, but Jabeur showed real confidence in firing down two aces then a cross-court forehand to take the set.

Puig carried on hitting hard but her accuracy let her down, and the second set was one-way traffic.

"Last year's loss helped," said Jabeur, referring to her defeat in the final to Ukraine's Elina Svitolina." I didn't want to go through that again. But the hardest thing was the five months I was off the courts with a wrist injury. The tendon is still weak, but I made sacrifices and it was worth it. It is just amazing to win at the French Open. I hope Tunisia is proud of me."
Judging by the looks on the faces of the president of the Tunisian Tennis Federation and the Tunisian Minister of Sport, she can be sure of that.
