Caro will be very motivated to take revenge here

she took out Cibulkova at AO after the Sydney defeat and then took out Petkovic in Stuttgart after the Miami loss ... you don't mess with Caro and expect to beat her twice in a row :armed:

Julia will be too tired after her 3 hour match today (as well as her long win-streak recently) and the Madrid weather does take a lot out of you.

Woz will do just enough. I pick her in 2.

Wuzza played badly against Jovanovski but what was obvious: she was defending all the time! Sure, helped a lot with Jovanovski spraying the balls out of court but if those went in, the outcome would have been different! Georges, let's say is more consistant but i see Wuzza coming out as a winner in 3 after losing the first set.

Julia served like a monkey in the 3rd set today, so yeah she's probably gassed.

Though Wozniacki is totally clueless on clay should help, it's still early in the tournament.

Well I hope it's gonna be Goerges, would be cool to see her winning twice in a row against Caro :) Both certainly didn't play well in 2R but Caro really has the ability to win when she's playing bad. I'm pissed about the schedule here, I mean Caro playing her 2R on Tuesday at 14:00 while Goerges has to play her match on wednesday at 16:00. Not fair IMO.

I don't know who will win, but I'm sure it will be a loooooooong match with a lot of moonballs. Julia is out of form or sick and Caroline.... clay is probably not her best surface...

Caro will win without drama something like 6-3 6-4

I agree with this... Caro was defending like 6m. behind the baseline almost all the time... in principle that shouldn't work against Julia...

But Julia's consistency to persistently repeat an agressive game plan against the Dane after the Safina match is really really doubtful. I pray she shows wrong by upping her game better.

Julia in 2.

Both under-performed in R2. I don't think Caro is gonna lose to Görges two times in a row.

How was she tired, she had a 1st round bye...
Julia had to play several 3 set matches, such a pile of w**k that statement.

If woz is 6m behind the baseline goerges will drop shot her to death, bojana never drop shotted, from what I saw today caro should win.

Julia played her close in Copenhagen. Caro has trouble breaking her serve, and the points they both play at game points will determine who wins.

I didn't say Caro was tired from her matches, she was tired from the heavy training with Duville.
You really shouldn't make ** comments about other people without bothering to find out what they're actually saying first.

Caro will win not because of any greater motivation for revenge, or to avenge the Stuttgart loss. She will win because she is the superior player and is more likely to win than lose. She will have an eventual superior h2h career results against Julia. I foresee 6-3, 7-6. MP will be a double fault rendering the Caro haters apoplectic.

Who has anticipated after Julia’s earliest drop out at Miami that two out of three voters choose her to battle out the Danish Wall for another time?

After Julia won Stuttgart, this was her answer to the inevitable question about her future goals: “As it was much quicker than expected that I reached Top 32 and will be seeded at GS, I have to discuss this with my coach (Sascha Nensel).” IMO it’s a very healthy sign if a player doesn’t overestimate impressive results within one week.

As an unseeded player she advanced at PM Madrid to R3 for the first time in her career and got another match up against # 1 Caroline Wozniacki (odds ( http://www.oddschecker.com/tennis/womens-tour/wta-madrid/caroline-wozniacki-v-julia-goerges/winner): 1/3; Julia Goerges: 12/5). This is a huge opportunity for Julia because she has nothing to lose but a lot to gain!

Good luck Julia & make the most out of it!

Wow you seem much more objective the last few days :D

But I gotta agree...voted Julia in 3 but have a feeling the Woz might take it without much drama

Caro will probably win, unfortunately... But it would be cool to see Julia as the winner again, especially after playing the day before. And then, if that happens, Caro's fans won't come up with the excuse that she was tired, they'll have to make up something different this time. :oh:

Julia played a 3 hour match late in the afternoon yesterday, it doesnt make any sense to bring her back for the first match of the day giving her. One would assume that it wouldve been scheduled later in the evening to give her a fair(ish) chance. Did Wozniacki ask for this since she cant fairly beat Julia these days?

If you aren't fit enough to start your match at 4 pm on one day and then at noon the next day then maybe you do not belong at the top. It happens all the time.
