View Full Version : Who can stop Wozniacki at RG?

dane
May 3rd, 2011, 03:15 PM
Caro seems to be unstoppable right now. With Henin and Serena and probably Kim not playing this French Open I can easily see her already lifting the trophy :wavey: She used Stuttgart as her warm-up (or whatever she said) tournament and still easily reached the final, falling only to the on-fire local matador Goerges. She will focus 100% on this FO so the chance of Caro winning her first slam is very high. ;)

Don't worry, Kim will be there, but she won't stop the Dane cause the Woz ain't reaching the final. She will crash in the first round against Parmentier.

VeeJJ

Which is very, very likely.

Is it really that likely?

The only logical reason I can see as to why Caro would win RG is because she is a better "big match" player than probably anyone she could face. So say even if she went up against a good solid baseline that we all know on a regular day could beat Caro the would probably fold at the opportunity to beat the #1 player at a slam and actually give themselves a chance at a slam since it is RG and well, anyone can win it.

May 3rd, 2011, 10:16 PM
Anyone who can take control of the match from her, and keep their errors low, has a great shot at beating her. Notably if Venus, Serena, Or Kim managed to play a clean match against her they all have very good chances against her. Id throw Jankovic in there as well if she can play clean, agressive tennis (which recently, eh, she isnt doing the best on that).

Anyone who plays a game similar to Wozniacki are going to find it hard to beat her, in my opinion. She is playing the counterpunch/retreiving game better than anyone else currently. But if a power player is hitting cleanly, then she wont have errors to rely on, and will be outgunned during most of the rallys and ultimately probably lose. It just has been that most people havent been able to play the power tennis and keep it clean against her recently.

Instead you should have just made the statement that you obviously wanted to which would be something like: "I think no one can beat Wozniacki at RG - come and argue with me here!". You would get the same responses and subsequent argument you certainly desire, without making everyone else put up with the thinly veiled BS premise that you actually care what other people think and are looking to have some sort of discussion about it.

WOW The Wozniacki Haters are out Today :lol::lol::lol: Love the Hate So Sad

@Dane Yes I She is so Far Unbeatable and the reason for that is no female on WTA Ranking doing better than her beside Kim so yes she is. As far someone beating her @ the FO KIM, Venus are not that much in love with clay but are still big threat (if they play) I doubt we see Serena but if she play she as well a huge threat for Wozniacki. But anthor than that there only couple player that can take her down I name the big name:

Zvonareva COuld take her down and go to win the title

Schiavone HELL NO & she not even coming close to winning the title again:lol::lol:

Azarenka Could be hard on Wozniacki due to the fact she playing her best tennis. But really Wozniacki got her number and for fact check the head2head.

Li, Na Hell NO I leave @ that she havn't been playing good since AO

Jankovic Could be a Threat as well and a person to take the title even through Wozniacki beat her last two time, she great on clay and Jankovic playing well

Stosur FUCK NO she not even making to the finals

Sharapova Sharapova kinda like Wozniacki not a good clay court player and Woziacki have beaten her well and easily last time.

Radwanska NO but she might make a good run

Bartoli NO Wozniacki can beat Bartoli any day and Bartoli herself aint good on clay

Kuznetsova Hell No

Petkovic Could be a Threat but Wozniacki she could beat her last time by making damn good come.

Ivanovic Her form is so off hope she start playing good again because i do like her but at the rate she playing no

Kvitova Could beat Wozniacki not going lair so she someone to watch out for

Pavlyuchenkova & Pennetta Wozniacki got them both by number check the head2head

Wickmayer,Kleybanova, & Cibulkova I think Cibulkova would bug a threat if she playing well so as Wickmayer she came close last time of beating Wozniacki. Kleybanova She need to stay focus

Goerges Same as Kvitova

but another than that who could stop her I not saying she going win but I wont be surprise if she does

It's incredible to see how many people (her fans!) seem to think Wozniacki is unbeatable on clay and are sure that she's going to win the French Open. I mean, why is she the one to beat? Does she play that well on clay? Just because she's #1 doesn't mean she's the more likely one to win the title, in my opinion. She's consistent and stuff, but if she faces a player who manages to play well on clay and, at the same time, stay consistent enough, she may lose the match, just like any other player. Anybody can beat her, and she can beat anybody. It will depend on how well the players will manage to play. But it seems some people think she's the clay queen and that's just ridiculous.

True. Which is why she is not the bookmakers favourite to win Wimbledon. She is the favourite to win RG, though.

justineheninfan
May 4th, 2011, 07:53 AM
Wozniacki is the favorite to win Roland Garros since there is nobody who is that good on clay who is even playing that well right now. If Clijsters wasnt injured she would probably be the favorite, but as it is she is in doubt to even play. Naming Schiavone or Stosur the favorite now would be laughable. Azarenka also isnt great on clay and Wozniacki owns her. Serena wont play RG and even if she does would never be the favorite this year. She is the favorite since nobody else can be.

As said above she isnt the bookies favorite to win Wimbledon, so no being #1 doesnt automaticaly make you the favorite. However for RG it makes perfect sense at the moment.

But she still has 3 titles, 2 finals, 2 semis so far in 2011
Obviously a player at her level is going to be judged by the 4 majors, and she choked against Li in Melbourne. I would grade Caroline B-. It was a semi, but she had mp on her serve & lost.

Caro is all about slams these days. She never loses unless she tanks or is injured. All Carotards should immediatly e-mail WTA asking to put an asterisk next to Caro's 95 losses.

:smoke:

The WTA asterisk team are busy correcting Fiona's slams

Caro seems to be unstoppable right now. With Henin and Serena and probably Kim not playing this French Open I can easily see her already lifting the trophy :wavey: She used Stuttgart as her warm-up (or whatever she said) tournament and still easily reached the final, falling only to the on-fire local matador Goerges. She will focus 100% on this FO so the chance of Caro winning her first slam is very high. ;)
