Vlada: yeah, but Zvonareva will be tough to beat for Petra, even though she doesn´t seem to be in great form right now. Hopefully, Petra will play far better than at AO. :(

This surface is ideal for Kvitova.
really?
People say fast indoor hardcourt is ideal for Kvitova (read Paris indoor threads)
Now slow dirt is also ideal for Kvitova?

Clay in Madrid is one of the fastest surface on tour right now.

This dirt is hardly slow. I'm expecting her to take out Zvonareva in straights.

I saw Roddick lose. This clay isnt as fast as people think.
I saw Vera play Petra in Melbourne. Kvitova will have to play better than that day to beat Vera.

Vera is very beatable right nowadays especially by a player like Petra... the only unknown factor is how well will the czech be on that day... I have no idea.

I've only seen the men's matches this year, and the dirt seems slooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Anyway, I think the hardcourts are best for Petra, so far.

So some people say the surface is slow and others say it is fast.

Is there any objective way to test this or is surface speed all just personal opinion?

So much aces, nearly no typical claycourt tennis (drop shots are very rare), serving stats very important, less breaks than usual on WTA especially on clay!!, striking players like Gajdosova, BMS, Kvitova you normally wouldn't expect in third round got there with impressive serve stats, too...

It's definitely the fastest claycourt for me and faster than the HC of Miami!

The high altitude apparently makes it quicker
