I know I'm a little late with this, but this qualifying lineup seems embarrassing for a Premier Mandatory. There are Int qualies deeper than this.
Putting the seeds aside - and there were a bunch of top 100 players not there (all injured?), 7 Wild Cards? Players outside the top 200 getting direct entry?
Why wouldn't more players ranked 100-150 want to play? I don't get that.

Lots of players are playing challengers. 10 top 100 players (28 from top 150) are supposed to play 100k France, 50k in Prague has 4 from top 100 (and 13 from top 150).

plus its the week for Wimbledon entries
so better to try gain pts there rather than fail to qualify for Madrid, or when you do get a bad draw.

This week two 100Ks and four 50Ks were scheduled to be held. One each of the 100Ks and of the 50Ks got cancelled, but it's still lunacy.

People who complain about the WTA tournament schedule should look at the ITF's. It's just completely random.
