Agi! AMAZING! 3+ hours. However, there was a very, very long break from 10* in the 3rd for Agi. No idea, SB for the other courts weren't frozen so MTO? Maybe for Tsveti, the end came fast.

Tsveti  I feel bad.

The third set was like 15 minutes long

The only player Tsveti beat this year was Makarova, Parmentier and a random Spanish WC in Marbella :spit:
(Excluding Nassau ITF)

Can't wait her Wimbledon points taken off

Long ass match and poor bp's conversion from Agi, but glad she pulled it out in the end :worship: There were 2 long breaks during the match, I'm concerned for her back... hopefully she's ok for next match.

glad she pulled it out, but any 3+ hours match for someone getting back from a nagging injury is NEVER good.

On the other hand, being able to tough out long matches does wonders for one's confidence.

Keep going, Ági. :cheer:

Ive never understood why Szavay isnt top 10. I remember seeing her play during I believe the summer hardcourt season in 2007, and she had one insanely sweet backhand. I dont remember her doing anything poorly, and that backhand was just sublime. Is she just a basket case? Because based of her talent she should be ranked MUCH higher. Such a disappointment.

Shes been injured and just restarted playing in IW. shes beaten unseeded players but lost to everyseed shes played this year. she just needs to get back into the groove

She's very unathletic. Her lack of agility is a massive liability, and her FH is loopy - she can't be consistently aggressive from that side.

Great result for Pironkova. Getting in peak form. How hilarious would it be, if she made the 2nd week of Wimbledon again.

Nice summation corswandt, that makes sense. Sad to see good talent goto waste because they dont want to workout. Did Nav not prove how much difference getting really fit makes? Even Henin recently.... her extreme fitness/strength for her size made up for her inherient shortcomings when it came to power.

Her shots have lost a lot of sting  and I wouldn't say basket case, but she has serious issues with confidence at this point but is too proud to see a sports psychologist. And she's young so she thinks she has all this time ahead of her still...

Well based on what happened after that, I wish they had played the whole match on Court 3 :p.

You forgot her almost legendary ability to lose leads in matches. That's another good reason why she is perpetually stuck in the 40-25 range.

Talent wise maybe, but she is just one big choker who for long periods is just happy to travel the world and see new places. She could have been a lot more serious about her tennis and a good head would also have helped a lot.

How the hell has Szavay been n. 13? She's such a mediocre player, and I'm not saying that because I dislike her, but just because she is weaponless, seriously.

She's just naturally unathletic. Working harder on her fitness (assuming she doesn't do so) wouldn't make much of a difference IMO.

Right now I think she's quite satisfied with winning a couple of clay MMs here and there and keeping her Hungarian sponsors.

What recent matches:unsure:? She began the year in IW and her only streamed match was in Marbella against Sveta. There she won the first set with a good tie break hitting a bunch of winners (yeah, the weaponless girl ) and was completely useless in the third because of her back.

Anyway most of the people here is right, there are many reasons why she wasn't successful recently.
Croswandt, Agi already lost Hungarian sponsors because doing well in MMs isn't enough for them. It's nice that she wins the Budapest Open it has some attention in Hungary, but that's all for a whole year. I hope she doesn't want to be the next AMG and with her new coach they will bring back her 2007 game.
