If the rest of the World is paying attention to it, why not Americans ?

Russians cared. It was all over the TVs at all of my schools today. Odd. Anyway, no need to single out Americans. The better question would be: Why does anybody care? The answer to the is obvious, really.

It's a form of entertainment. I don't know why people are so bothered by it.

Kate's hot,* and yes, I am that easily amused.

Although I did just watch some of the news coverage.

*for a brunette ;) :p

Glenn Beck was moaning about the Royal wedding. Maybe because his show was pre-empted by the event.

Reason enough to embrace it.

Nah,
Pippa Middleton > Kate Middleton
Brunettes > Blondes

Well that was a waste of time.

Could care less. 1/2 the cost for the food alone at the Royal Wedding would be enough to rebuild Alabama.

I still like my princesses like I like my tennis players.

About 5'11, blonde, big-nosed and banged.

The inevitable comparoson has already been made:

They didn't look bad (although Diana's more frilly headgear appeard better looking) but both should have had a better dress in my opinion.

After all this is ultimately nothing more than fairy tale entertainment so they might as well play the part fully and bring out all the blings in the house like the old days. So for now QE2's classical wedding dress will remain the last best and fully regal/royal looking outfit

Honestly, no one got the point of this? It was supposed to be a laugh. Obviously if you want to care, you can.

It's not the veil/tiara.

It's the BANGS.

Americans are hypocrites who like to think that their own country doesn't spend excess amounts of $$$ on pointless shit.

Could care less. 1/2 the cost for the food alone at the Royal Wedding would be enough to rebuild Alabama.

It's as much as their responsibility to pay for Alabama as it is for Serena to. And we don't see her helping out, do we?

Americans are smart. Watching this wedding will only make your ceremonial wedding/potential wedding look like shit!

Can anyone British explain why Fergie wasn't invited? I know about the sting, but she's not a bad gal and her girls were invited.

Well, as she and Andrew got divorced she's technically not a member of the royal family any more, and plus she's hardly helped her own profile over the years (especially recently with all the bankruptcy crap), so...

The sting thing was pretty serious and has to be the main reason.

Though in fairness Prince Andrew has doubtless been up to things at least as dodgy.

Less justifiable was the decision to invite both remaining Tory former Prime Ministers, while not inviting both remaining Labour PM's.

I actually know someone who quit her job because they wouldn't let her off and went to London for the wedding. Plans to sever our relationship are ongoing.
