This show has definitely succeeded my expectations. Loving the competition between the judges. You can see every emotion going through Xtina's head on her puffy, bloated face. :hearts:

Good talent, too! :yeah:

Leaves American Idol in the dust.

Loved the first episode. Wish there were two female and two male coaches. I will certainly be watching this show.

P.S.- Xtina did look swollen.

Has she had face work done or has she simply gained weight?

Anyways, great show concept and I thoroughly enjoyed the first episode.
Definitely tuning in again.

She's defo gained a bit of weight. She's so slight that it shows up easily.

What did everyone think about Frenchie Davis being on "The Voice" ?

I think Adam Levine's team is the strongest so far.

I don't know what I think about girls being bald, but they they have that choice. :sobbing: I think Blake will be at a disadvantage. He's the least known so I wouldn't be running to work with him. OTOH I would want to work with Cee-Lo cause I think he is overall the most talented from a backstage view. I also think Adam legitimately wants to help his team. I'm not sure what Xtina's motives are, exactly. Which is what makes this show so delicious.

Oh and re: Frenchie, I felt bad for her that she barely got by. :sobbing: Not sure she'll make Xtina's final team based on appearance alone. She knows the industry and hasn't tried to lose a pound.

True. He's probably only well-known within the country circle. If the show gets renewed, I think that will change. When they first announced that he was on the panel, I was like, "Who??? :help:" Then I watched a few of his interviews and he had me ROFLMAO. Plus, he has a good voice ;)

And his Twitter is a good read if you're having a bad day. Such a hot mess :rolls:

It was only the first episode so it's hard to judge but, yeah, I think it's still a new show which few people are familiar with and IF it gets renewed, I think they'll have a better pool to choose from.

Really curious to see which song they perform next (IF they do - they haven't yet for the pre-recorded shows but they might during the live shows). I'd love to see the guys perform Dirrty or Not Myself tonight with Christina :haha:

Yeah, have to agree about the panel. All well chosen for their "panel-charisma" i.e. their strong ability to connect to TV audiences as they listen, hit the buzzer, judge, compete for clients and mentor.

The concept is definitely refreshing. This is definitely more entertaining than idol so far. Especially the judges' chemistry.

But IMO, the talent wasn't much better than the current Idol. Haley's both performance of RITD and POMH were so much better than the two lesbians.

Plus, I already hated a couple of them. I mean, the one girl's sob story was I'M TOO PRETTY? ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME?

And, once the audience starts voting, this going to be back to based on look again

But definitely worth watching.

Out of everyone so far, Rebecca Loebe is my favorite. She has incredible range and falsettos, not only that her creativity and interpretation is incredibly unique. Check out her studio version of "Come As You Are" just beautiful! Support her and buy it on iTunes so she doesn't have to live out in her car anymore. She has a bit of Kelly Clarkson and Jewel in her.

NBC's 'THE VOICE" RATINGS RISE!

“Sure, NBC can launch a reality show,” competitors pointed out last week after The Voice debuted huge, “but then what happens? Remember The Marriage Ref, Singing Bee, Grease: The One That I Want? All premiered big, but then fell off a cliff … “

Well, last night’s second episode of The Voice not only didn’t tumbled, it climbed up the mountain a little higher. The Voice was seen by 12.4 million viewers and had a 5.6 preliminary rating among adults 18-49, up 10 percent from last week’s premiere that broke NBC records.

Agreed about the talent. I get the impression that the editors made a deliberate choice. Quality last week and quantity this week

At least the coaches kept up the entertainment. I can't get enough of Blake :haha: :worship: :spit:

And next week looks intense! :bolt:

Blake only wants to work with people like him, country. Miranda is good..., but she's not all that. So Blake get off your country high horse. You ain't Kenny chesney.

I did feel badly for her; she seemed like a nice person.

I think the producers decided to use this poor girl to make an example of how "The voice" is so different from all the other singing talent shows, in that talent trumps looks. Sucks for her because she was as good/bad as any of the singers on display yesterday except MUCH better looking.

Serabee did what Blake specifically told her not to - oversing. And like Reba said, Dia was steady and not overawed by Serabee's vocals...

Based on the blind auditions, Rebecca pwned Devon. Have to say though, Devon rose to the occasion (his tone reminds me a bit of Elliott Yamin's :D) while Rebecca seemed to falter a bit (nerves?). So I understand Adam saying that he picked Devon based on the battle round alone. :awww: He clearly wanted Devon to be the sacrificial lamb but things didn't go as planned. When Blake chose Dia over Sarabee, I was like he cant be serious?? No offense to Dia or anything but she is boring as shit. The girl has no stage presence and is devoid of personality. She just looked so uncomfortable up there. Sarabee may have over sang some parts but she was still miles better than Dia. In some parts Sarabee reminded me a little of Teena Marie.

The Voice's Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will open their first live show Tuesday with a medley of Queen Songs.
The four coaches will perform "Bohemian Rhapsody," "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions." Their last collaboration came on the breakout show's premiere episode, when they performed "Crazy."
"Kicking off the debut of the live episode of The Voice with these high energy renditions of classic Queen hits will set the tone for our live shows," said NBC and Universal Media Studios executive vice president of alternative programming Paul Telegdy.
Maintaining the music competition's momentum and ratings is key for NBC, which has already given the series the coveted post-Super Bowl slot.

Really ? "Blow" ? I love the song but its not a song you should choose to perform.

She didn't choose it. Xtina did. I really liked it though. Hope Raquel gets through one way or another. She's one of my favorites.

I hope that performance helps the iTunes sales of "Blow". :p

Still can't get over how great that performance of "Lady Marmalade" was  Xtina hit those notes like it was ten years ago.

I am impressed by Christina's mentoring abilities.

I love "Big Girls Don't Cry" and that was a good performance.

I have to say I have warmed up to Blake a lot since the show started. Although he is so goofy he does seem like a genuine guy. :D

I don't think Xtina really liked Frenchie Davis' performance.

Jun 8th, 2011, 02:58 AM
I'd like Raquel and Lily to stay from Christina's team and Dia, Jared or Patrick to stay from Blake's team.

Frenchie's voice annoys me, I didn't really like Beverly's song tonight, but I wouldn't be so mad if she stayed and I thought Xenia was kinda boring.

I think I liked Dia the best this week

Easily Dia had the performance of the night.

Xenia and bald guy need to leave Blake's team.

Raquel and Beverly need to leave Team Xtina.

Team Christina was better than Team blake imo. Frenchie, Lily and Beverly were the best on Team Xtina. Poor Raquel has a nice voice but she just doesn't have it. Over on Team Blake I think the two guys were better than the two girls. I dont think Dias performance was that good when compared to the others. Sorry. And Xenia.....that girl has no stage presence at all. I was so fucking bored during her performance. Even during the group song she was jsut dead. Not moving at all. So she has gotta go. But I really like this show!

Dia is easily the best, and that was probably one of my favorite reality show performances ever.

Xenia. Good unique voice with no stage presence. I was cringing. Can't believe that got praised.

And lord. Did Xtina choose the songs? I mean, Blow is not a song I would choose to sing if I was trying to win a singing competition.

And also, I'd take Patrick over Scotty anyday. Please.

Well, the medley is just what I expected, especially with Xtina's signature crazy runs. :worship: Adam's voice actually suits well with the song.:yeah:

though Blow isn't your typical singing competition song, I actually think it worked. :worship: However, Raquel is a little overrated, she doesn't have good technique and her voice is just mediocre. I have no idea how she would end up be in the liveshows, not to say her stage presence is a little weird, either it's stiff or she'd walk around the stage rather manly :o and I actually see some Rebecca Black in Raquel.:bolt:

Frenchie  I really felt so 'gouuud' for you. Her voice is not as big as what I expected. Kind of a little overrated too but she did good anyways after that.

Dia did quite well, yeah, the performance of the night or even the best of the night all in all (including the group performance) perhaps. I remember how some people in here think Serabee should win over her in the battle round and now they just like her performance.

Jared the rocker entered the song a little early but luckily he finally got into the zone. Not bad apart from that.

Beverly was just decent at best, nothing spectacular.

Xenia was just too shy. She sounded like she put a little effort to sing, not much energy but her voice is rather unique.

Lily actually reminded me of Xtina a little, she tends to overthinks in her singing but she didn't have much ability as Xtina to oversing that much. Just ok her performance.

That country singer Patrick is also just decent, besides those glory notes he hit. Not a good song choice. I feel he will be the Scotty in this show, doesn't need to do much and he would probably still win the show.

It's obvious this show wants to be more relevant compared to AI which just keeps giving the contestants to sing those boring classic songs (I like the songs but nowadays who cares about those songs).:p

I actually think Xenia wasn't that bad. It's just her laidback style and unique tone that might seem a bit off-putting  I thought Lily was the worst of the night. There were some good moments but not enough to save the mess (particularly at the start) :o

I think Frenchie and Beverley from Team Christina and Patrick and Dia from Team Blake should stay. Christina seems to really like Raquel though. I hope she doesn't do anything stupid with her save

Team Blake singing a Maroon 5 song was a surprise.

With the bromance between Adam and Blake, I kept thinking that he must have been singing the song to Adam. "This love is taking its toll on me" :spit:

I have to say I have warmed up to Blake a lot since the show started. Although he is so goofy he does seem like a genuine guy. :D

He's hilarious on Twitter. Such an entertaining hot mess :sobbing:

Xenia she is too young and lack of confident and experience to be on the show...i always see Norah Jones in her, she needs couple of years to grow

Christina's left fake eyelash was all f***ed up. Looked like she had a lazy eye.

Cee Lo needs his shades back.

I don't think there's anyone with any exceptional level of talent. Frenchie was pretty strong, but even so, off-key.

And I know nothing about Blake, but what's with all the drunk jokes? He annoys me.

It's just all becoming a hot mess

Lord. Christina took like 10 minutes to pick.

I think the right two from Christina came through though. Hopefully it's Patrick and Dia from Team Blake.

This format is really clunky. Really should've been performances one day, with a results show.

Agreed... The current format is weak, but the full length performances make up for that. I'm glad it's not a snippet version of a song, instead it's a prossional length performance. The cyber room part is an epic fail- it breaks the authentic feel of the show.

I didn't mind Christina taking forever, it's far more refreshing than those long drawn out gimmicky dramatic build ups they do...that's just Xtina.
