With Katy Perry's latest hit, E.T., to make it to #1, her album, Teenage Dream, yielded 4 #1 Billboard Top 100 hits. I keep reading, it is the 9th album in history to do so, but I'm not sure of the 9th album. Katy joins an elite group of artists:

- Bad by Michael Jackson (1987): I Just Canít Stop Loving You, Bad, The Way You Make Me Feel, Man In The Mirror, Dirty Diana.

- Faith by George Michael (1987): Faith, Father Figure, One More Try, Monkey

- Whitney by Whitney Houston (1987); I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Didnít We Almost Have It All, So Emotional, Where Do Broken Hearts Go

- Forever Your Girl by Paula Abdul (1989): Straight Up, Forever Your Girl, Cold Hearted, Opposites Attract.

- Rhythm Nation 1814 by Janet Jackson (1989): Miss You Much, Escapade, Black Cat, Love Would Never Do Without You

- Mariah Carey by Mariah Carey (1990): Vision Of Love, Love Takes Time, Someday, I Donít Wanna Cry

- Confessions by Usher (2004): Yeah!, Burn, Confessions Part II, My Boo

- Teenage Dream by Katy Perry (2010): California Gurls, Teenage Dream, Firework, E.T.

The 9th album I'm guessing is Saturday Night Fever (Soundtrack) as I can't think of another artist with one album that featured four #1 singles, yet this soundtrack had: How Deep Is your Love, Night Fever, If I Can't Have You and Stayin' Alive.

I'm pretty sure that's the 9th album they keep refering to, is that right?

I don't have any of those albums! I'm ambivalent to all those 'artists' except Perry who I can't stand, particularly after seeing her blatantly plugging her 'perfume' on Paul O'Grady.

There are a lot of "Greatest Hits" albums that have four Billboard Hot 100 #1s on them. :p But I think you're right about the ninth album.

There's only two albums on that list released after I graduated high school. God that makes me feel old.

I wonder if she can get a fifth.

Rihanna has three number ones from "Loud" but I HIGHLY doubt that "California King Bed" will make it.

He ruined his own career. He sued Sony when he didnt have a leg to stand on, got all pretentious with his 2nd solo album, duped his American audience who then never forgave him. He never had the guts to come out, he was forced out by his arrest. Even in the UK who are far less homophobic when it comes to pop stars his career was never the same, not because he is gay but because he hid it and has not handled himself well.

Nah; this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IiLZ0dvDWU) "golden oldie" from the 90s. (Although, to be honest, I don't think of the 90s as a time of "golden oldies" since I'm too old for that myself.

If you want another horrifying thing from the 90s, try this crappy dance number (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5i8WgY-P25o)

The best album on the list, even better than "Bad" by Michael.
It was really unique and it doesn't sound dated after more than 20 years.
Too bad it wasn't very popular outside of the US.

De gustibus non est disputandum and all that.

But what I want to know is what makes a single "epic".
