Good that she plays doubles as well!
Sabine is in good shape, as long as she doesn´t turn :cuckoo: mentally she has all chances to beat Cibulkova, it will depend on her anyway, but we´ll see, Sabine is not really predictable these days, 1st serve percentage should be better than it was today , that is for sure, good luck!

Sabine played some really good points against McHale and won quite well :) She is gaining in confidence, despite giving away cheap points as well. It was entertaining to watch and she was having fun on the court playing for her country. No doubt it will be alot more intense against Domi though but as a fan I definitely am feeling optimistic about her chances.

Tough draw came out. She can defeat Cibulkova but it depends on her game and mood. Yesterday she defeated McHale but she played without pressure and we can say that she was mentally ok (Germany was leading 3-0 and already qualified for World Group). She played good but it was not the best. After a long time her dropshots worked and she took risks. She is going to play in her home country so we can see victory for Sabine. If Sabine puts her real game it will be a 3 set match otherwise 2set easy win for Cibulkova. For her doubles match, she is playing with great doubles partner and I hope she will increase her game with playing doubles with Stosur.

Exciting!!! :)

Yep my favourite player Sabine playing together with the No 1 ranked Aussie

I was quite happy with her game against McHale. Some games were a bit loose but she was in control mostly and I think maybe too relaxed or she may have won by a more convincing score. But 6-3, 6-4 still pretty good. Great power on display with ground strokes, good variety with nice lobs and taking pace off ball and set up some points really well. Put it this way she's improved alot from her form a month ago.

Also Petko only beat Mchale with the same score :)

Mike81
Apr 18th, 2011, 09:18 AM
That's true :) Also Sabine's mental state was good, she was 4-2 down in the 2nd but didn't look worried and she came back and won 4 games in a row.

Michael!
Apr 19th, 2011, 01:57 PM
As I said, it will depend on her, Cibulkova can´t decide a match with her own strokes against Lisicki and really great that Sabine played good enough today to win it!

15 aces, that is great, has been a long time since she served so many aces for the last time, first serve is really a weapon again
!
She dominated the match anyway, but still has some mental problems here and there, not that confident yet but great that she was able to hold in 1st set at 44 and 55 after she had an early break there as well and already wasted SP at 54* and in 2nd set it was just really surpising that she didnt give up after she wasted that *53 and was behind 56*, amazing to see..first serve % was too low first but then was really good, we´ll see what she can do against Na Li, will be a match with amazing winners followed by pathetic errors, but it will be interesting again, and again 60pts for her , she is really coming back, hope she gets mentally stronger now with every match as well! :)

So enjoyable to watch my gal Sabine playing on Euro Sport and see her hit 15 aces and hold it together when it mattered most. Yes, it was shaky at times with loose shots and mental lapses (not a big surprise) but she and her fans will take any win she can get against high ranked players and she certainly deserved the straight sets win! Now for Li Na :bounce:

Sabine was omnipresent in Stuttgart. :rolls:
Doubles could have been easier, but so many retarded errors from *3-0 up. Sabine played a show match with Steeb against Rittner/Leconte right afterwards. Was lots of fun, since Leconte is awesome. Great hands, Sabine could learn a lot from him in terms of touch and netplay. :p She really enjoyed herself out there and was very relaxed over the past few days!

Not a too bad performance from Sabine, both girls played some nice tennis, Sabine with a few UEs too much and her first serve percentage was not that great and Julia just made the important points!
But definitely another step in the right direction, as finally more consistent, not one really bad match this week, should give her confidence again, I hope that she will play Estoril now and doesn´t withdraw!
Nice week :)

I hope people won't criticise too much this performance. Goerges played really well I thought. I actually think Julia is a big chance against Stosur, I was very impressed despite being a bit heartbroken for my favourite player.

Sabine played well for good patches of this match, unfortunately she didn't play the big points well and collapsed in both sets. Her troubles with movement and not enough first serves cost her the match. I'm disappointed because I thought she could beat Li Na why not Julia, but I'm very positive about Sabine's future. I love her so much, I want her success, satisfaction and happiness but I must be patient.

Still a great 2 wins and a gallant loss this week, is a very promising sign!

Sabine :hearts::kiss: Take this form into the next tournaments and definately alot more wins coming up! top 100 is the first goal and getting into MD's of grand slams.

Doubles with Stosur is still waiting for her tonight. If she could win this match against Goerges/Petkovic, she couldn't play Estoril qualifying.

It make sense when she will play the 50k tournament to stay in Prague.

Here is the entry list for the 100k
http://www.itftennis.com/womens/tournaments/tournamentacceptancelist.asp?tournament=1100024063&event=&order=Position

But she has also entered Saint-Gaudens (with Priority 3) and Reggio Emilia (with Priority 2) in that week.
So we have to wait until next Tuesday for the deadline day to know exactly which tournament she will play in that week.
