Apr 2nd, 2011, 01:43 AM
Caroline Smith has arrived in Charleston! :)
We caught up with America's Indian Wells Quarter-Finalist and Justin Bieber's girlfriend Caroline Smith.

Interviewer: Hi thank you for taking the time to talk with us today.

Caroline: No problem. Happy too.

Interviewer: How are you coping with the intense travel from place to place Caroline?

Caroline: (Yawns) Tiring. Traveling to China I realized was stupid and a waste of time. I could of been at a photo shoot or a party!

Interviewer: (Laughs) I hear your a party girl. Am I correct?

Caroline: Oh yes I am. I like to go to clubs and party all night. Then I go home to hotel room and play dirty games with Justin and have hardcore se-

Interviewer: (cuts in) Okay, Okay. That's all I need to know. What kind of results are you looking for here?

Caroline: I think I want to win a match. Confidence is crucial for me. I hope for more but we will see. In doubles it depends on my partner.

Interviewer: That's what I thought. What are you practicing now with your coach?

Caroline: We are working really hard on my serve. I can hit explosive forehands and backhands but my serve never reaches above 80 MPH at it's best and I can't ever ace. I lose matches because of that sometimes. My volleys are pretty good. Footwork is good but I am working on that. Footwork is good. My serve is just :help: :tape:

Interviewer: Are you planning on playing little tournaments or big tournaments in April?

Caroline: I am playing some bigger tournaments in April. I want to see how I can hit with the better players. If it doesn't go well I will play some smaller tournaments in May.

Interviewer: Great! Thank you Caroline.

Caroline: No problem. I am going to go get done by Justin now.

 Caroline is a slut.

Singles Results, Second Round

Saba Abid def. Kathleen Pryde-Degman 7/6(4), 7/6(2)
Saba is in the top 10 and unseeded here so she's had to fight her way through but Kathleen couldn't follow up her amazing win over Ziyi.

[7]Jane Wong def. [WC]Tami Lamy-Chappuis 6/3, 6/4
An all original veteran - these 2 players played at the original Family Circle Cup in 2000 and here they are again in 2011.

[Q]Lindsay Galbraith def. [LL]Hafdis Bjork Runarsdottir 7/6(1), 4/6, 7/5
A great opportunity for either player in Charleston and Lindsay was just a bit stronger in this European island nation match.

[4]Nthamangela Mbangu def. [WC]Sabine Graf 6/3, 3/6, 7/6(6)
Nthama got lucky a bit here, especially since clay is her better surface and she beat an original veteran too.

Cornelia du Preez def. Verena Jameka Starr 6/1, 6/4
This all afro-Babe match saw Coco follow up her amazing win against the defending champion Giusa with a win over Verena.

[Q]Elena Skankhova def. [8]Siri Cornetsson 7/5, 7/6(0)
Skanky gets a terrific win over the tough Swede in a pair of tight sets.

[Q]Amita Maria Young def. [5]Luna-Willow Bartoli 6/4, 0/6, 6/3
Amita makes it certain that all three qualifiers are in the quarterfinals with her upset of Luna-Willow.

Caroline Smith def. [2]Ruflina Taliamanosoko 0/6, 6/4, 6/4
Caroline avenges her loss to Ruflina and stops the Botswanian's win streak at an amazing 11 matches and continues to make her home American crowd happy.

Jane Wong is delighted to reach the quarterfinals, which is an improvement to her dismal year but she is not confident in her next match with Abid which she has a very bad losing record..

Singles Results, Quarterfinals

[7]Jane Wong def. Saba Abid 6/3, 6/4
Jane wasn't confident today at all but blazed past Saba hoping to recapture this event from a long time ago.

[Q]Lindsay Galbratih def. [4]Nthamangela Mbangu 3/6, 7/5, 7/6(0)
An epic upset for marathon woman who has advanced to the best point of her entire career.

[Q]Elena Skankhova def. Cornelia du Preez 1/6, 6/3, 7/5
Elena evens up the head to head with Cornelia as they oddly have only met in big events.

[Q]Amita Maria Young def. Caroline Smith 6/2, 2/6, 7/6(1)
Amita makes it that all three qualifiers are in the semifinals as she deals a suffering blow to Caroline and the Americans.

[8]Hingisafrilia/Pryde-Degman def. [4]Bartoli/Kane 7/6(7), 2/6, 6/2
Fleri and Kath are slowly starting to wedge their way back into the upper echelons of doubles teams.

[5]Graf/Jarocka-Pottinger def. [3]Wong/Zianzhi 1/6, 7/5, 6/3
The odd pairing of these two is working as they knock off the Chinese duo.

Harper and Siri march forward as they take out Cornelia and Nthama.

Singles Results, Semifinals

[7]Jane Wong def. [Q]Lindsay Galbraith 6/2, 7/5
Jane has had a sucky 2011 so it is a tremendous surprise to see her doing so well in Charleston, although veterans usually succeed here. Lindsay's strength finally ran out.

[Q]Amita Maria Young def. [Q]Elena Skankhova 6/4, 0/6, 6/2
A tremendous chance for both qualifiers saw the Thai defeat the Russian for a chance at the biggest match of her entire career.

Doubles Results, Semifinals

[1]Masterton/Taliamanosoko def. [8]Hingisafrilia/Pryde-Degman 6/2, 7/6(4)
Paula and Ruflina were definitely the sentimental favorites as they knocked off Fleri and Kath for a chance at a fourth Family Circle Cup title.

[5]Graf/Jarocka-Pottinger def. [2]Cornetsson/Johnson 0/6, 6/4, 6/3
A classic finale will not happen because Sabine and Emilia clawed their way back into this match and will now fight for the title.

Singles Results, Finals

[7]Jane Wong def. [Q]Amita Maria Young 7/5, 6/2
Jane started the event by defeating Mensarb (Young's friend and doubles partner) in a thrilling three set match. Since then, she has cruised in straight sets in each match, including this one against the surprise qualifier finalist, proving to the crowd and FWTT that she still has what it takes. She was the second ever winner of this event in 2001 (the first time it was held in Charleston) and then went on to win it a second time a few years later. She now becomes the only person in FWTT history to hold this most important event for three separate years.

[5]Graf/Jarocka-Pottinger def. [1]Masterton/Taliamanosoko 0/6, 6/3, 7/5
This was to be the last time Paula and Ruflina competed at this event - an event they have won four times overall and three times in a row. Had they won today, they would have had 4 in a row, an unspeakable record. It was not meant to be as Sabine and Emilia randomly paired up and defeated some of the tour's hottest teams. They most certainly deserve this title based on their effort of the past week.

"Wow I did not expect to win a this togehter with Emilia. My partner Marteena was not playing here, so I tried to find a good partner. Emilia gave me a call and so we played our first doubles match on Centre Court. We won it and we moved further and further. After our victory in the semis Marteena mailed and gave me some hints for our doubles final. Ruffy and Paula are two very difficult players and the best doubles team at the FWTT so we both had to find a way to get into the match. It was tough but we managed to get back on winning track. I am so happy. Thanks Emilia for playing with me it was a great week and we had a lot of fun. Congrats to Jane. I saw her matchpoint. We old ones on FWTT are still good enough to win titles in singles and doubles!"

Too Good To Be True!!

I still can't believe it!! I came too far than I ever expected. To qualify into the main draw was my goal and the second round would be the benefit!! But see!! I am the runner up holding the trophy!! Woww..

Thank you for all my fans and all supports here,
I promise I'll come back here again!!

Jane is extremely happy to win and thanks Amita for a great match.

Jane is happy that she is at least eligible to qualify for Bali this early in the season and it gives her a lot less pressure moving on this season.
