Well the bright side is she isnt defending anything! :D

Only 240 point until Eastbourne!
A quarter at rome or madrid and she's already there.

Charleston: 1
Stuttgart: 1
Madrid: 80
Warsaw: 1
FO: 160

She shouldn't play Brussels and play Rome this year IMO, even skip Charleston or Stuttgart.
Hoping she can throw in a few quarters and gain a few extra hundred points here :)

2011 Point Breakdown:

Brisbane: 130
Hobart: 70
AO: 100

Dubai: 125
Doha: 200
Kuala Lumpur: 70

Indian Wells: 700
Miami: 140

Not counting Kuala Lumpur and Hobart, she has already amassed almost 1400 points, currently around half her total :)

She's on Charleston and Stuttgart entry list.

Her 16th result is yet 125 pts and 17th 120 pts.

She needs to reach semi in Charleston and in Stuttgart in order to improve her current total amount of points (miami included).

So next week : Charleston

argile is'nt "Clay" for french ! but congrats for your imagination !Imagination has nothing to do with it:lol:...if you use google dictionary online, that's EXACTLY what it reads...but maybe they have different words for the kind of clay used in pottery and the kind of clay that exists in soil.....Regardless,I hope Marion wins a lot during the season

Title changed :)Well,I hope my language wasn't too strong,Paparazzi, but I wouldn't want Marion to get handed some cut-rate discount dress from K-Mart to wear at one of the player parties...and,by the same token,I'd prefer her to have a reasonably-attractive thread since she's competing for attention against all those WTA part-time lingerie models:lol:......Maybe,someday many years from now,Marion will comment that she secretly visited her fans here a lot during her playing career:angel:

My preferred schedule would be Charleston-Stuttgart-Rome-Madrid. Or whichever comes first, always get mixed up between the last 2. Charleston has winneable matches and even though Stuttgart has a strong field, its the best type of clay for her. 5 clay tournaments would be plenty for her, she better not play more.

When you have a big-time tourney such as THIS one,you should EXPECT to face tough opponents from the QFs on...prior to that,Marion's draw is quite reasonable...and Safarova is probably not even 100% as she backed out of Fed Cup this weekend.Fran is a much better clay-court player,IMO,so I'd be pleased with mere tough resistance from Marion at this point

You French-speakers should recognize the similarity of the Spanish word and,for those of you who don't speak Spanish OR French...you can just infer that it's not anything good. When she's been healthy,Serena sometimes has sat out almost the entire clay season except RG...maybe it's time for Marion to follow suit:o.For that matter, she could just skip RG by concocting one of those mythical Ivanovic-type injuries and watching as a spectator.Marion might enjoy that change of pace......

So why did she have such bad results in this year's clay court season? Any explanations? Thanks :)Explanation is really simple. She never played on clay before her title in National championships under 16. So, she always needs time to find solutions. When on grass and on hard, she doesn't need time. It's almost automatic.

Cornet is the only french top 100 player who has started soon on clay.

Concerning her retirement today, don't forget Eastbourne 2009 vs Razzano. 2 or 3 days after, she won vs Chan 6-0 6-0 in Wimbledon.

Playing Birmingham... thats a bit of a surprise but I think its better. Im just worried she'll burn out. She better. not. fucking. play. new haven.

Good to see her being mentally tough in a Grand Slam match. It doesn't happen so often. :)
Indeed her schedule is damn crazy, she should really catch a break. Playing Strasbourg was a good idea I thought, but there's no need to play Birmingham. Having said that, she had her best Slam results playing exactly the same schedule.

Bravo Marion! :worship:

It's easy to win when you are winning, but it's difficult to win when you are losing.

Is it my imagination or--now that Amelie is gone and Rezai has been unable to duplicate her 2010 success--the French fans are really supporting Marion:hearts: strongly

P.S.: Thanks for the health updates, fellow Marionettes:)

She's so damm theatrical out there :hysteric:

You know I love her and I understand she just wants to do well infront of the home crowd, but she could tone down the "allezs" a bit.
