5 match points. 5-1 up in the third. Yet she just fell short, in every single game. It was always deuce, always 30-30, but somehow Kim would win that game. It would be 5-5 in the tiebreak, but of course Kim gets the match point.

This match was in Ana's hands (3rd set) only for her to go on and lose it. Had so many opportunities which makes the loss hurt even more.

Well one positive thing judging by the score, is that Ana played her best ever match against Kim - came so close to winning as well that gives some hope. Hopefully this loss doesn't shatter Ana, and hopefully she'll recover from this and have a good clay season.

Yes, but I know from personal experience in sport - when you invest too much in trying to help a close friend get out of a slump or massive disappointment, it can affect you too. In the end it's something Ana needs to figure out herself, but like I said, she will appreciate Andrea's support :)

following the scoreboard you got the feeling kim was rushing to a loss as she sometimes does to go 5-1 down and even 0-40, but i am sure as soon as she saw ana just wasn't mentally strong enough to take it kim got down to the task of punishing ana for it.

kim has now beaten henin twice? sharapova and ivanovic from MP down since her return :)

if ana had any sort of a backbone this loss would obviously hurt but it would make her see she is close to the best and fire her to get the win next time. but knowing ana she has pulled out the doubles, will run for cover, pull out her next tournament and wallow in it.

Give me a fucking break and just be happy that Kim won. Ana is more than entitled to be just a little bit devastated this time, don't you think?

this is a results thread and i am giving my opinion on the outcome of this match. losses happen, and tough ones at that. true champions learn from them and use them to fuel the fire to win, i just don't see ana doing that.

stop being defensive because you are hurting.

i'm not a fan of Ana but i really feel sorry for her because it's always difficult to accept the fact that you lost after wasted so many match points. it remind me of maria's match against kim last year. sucks.

If you'd read anything you'd know I'm not being defensive at all. Pretty sure I was the first one in this thread to acknowledge that she probably won't deal with it too well, so I actually agree with you there. The difference is that I think it's perfectly understandable, a human reaction. I'd be more alarmed if she didn't care too much. Saying that she doesn't have a backbone is OTT. There's my opinion.

I admit I cried for 5 minutes after this match.

don't cry. This is life, all players lose bad losses and then come back

She withdrew from doubles. This is bad.

Crybaby Anci should be fined for this. How could she withdraw from a doubles match just because of a tough loss.

That is just oh so unprofessional of her. B!tch should go back to Belgrade and play in her swimming pool. :o

You cried over a match you followed on a scoreboard? I understand crying over a live match, but damn!

THE MADUSAH SCARE BE GIVIN' ME SO MUCH LIFE!!!! :hearts: :worship:

Thank god for Oracene introducing some truth to this mess.

I saw Ivanovic practice at IW and she was totally on point and flawless, and I naively figured she was ready to compete again. She has game. But she is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo weak.

It's crazy to me that she won a major, and did so with such clutch play in the semis against Jankovic. That was some amazing tennis. It's almost like playing her countrywoman is what it takes for her to have some necessary killer instinct. She should have pretended it was Jelena instead of Madusah on the other side of the net.

I doubt that the doubles was high on Petkovic's priority list at the moment.

Fantastic Kim. No live stream so just following on LS and I thought Kim was down and out - and I really didn't want her lose against Ana of all people with her 100% record against her. :( Then as she got close I was like "Fight Kim" and she did it. :worship:

I'm so so happy. :bounce:The way she won is even better than a straightforward win.

amazing. i think this is the biggest difference between old kim and new kim: she can grind her way through matches, and yes, she can even fight. sometimes it gets ugly, but if you want to win big titles, you must do it.
