The Radwanska point from the beginning of the 2nd set will come down as her best won rally ever, no doubts :worship:
So many fascinating rallies there, fun match!

[side note: Was Aga working on her serve lately? Daddy said her serve is little off today - and it looked better than usually for me - and that she should, and I quote, "go for the aces"? Just to remind you - she had 9 aces against Kirilenko]
[side note2: Aga still have lots of problems facing heavy top spins]

and fuck yeah, first top 10 win in ages and against Fran from all people

I am shocked! (and thrilled at the same time)

I was totally expecting a straight set win for Fran. And I'm so happy I was wrong :sobbing:

Yeah, ok, Fran was pretty useless but even playing badly she used to beat Agnieszka easily. As for Radwańska she was absolutely brilliant today! Great passing shots, serving and defence. Some aggressive play yet very few errors. LOVED IT! It's probably Aga's most important win since the one over Sveta in YEC.
So proud of you Agnieszka  you rocked today. Good luck against Vera. No pressure on you anymore.

The hell? :weirdo: I guess A-Rad had to play well, how did Schiavone do?

Aga played EXTREMELY well. Fran play EXTREMELY badly. That said there were still a lot of very entertaining rallies and there was a brief period in the middle of the 2nd set where Fran almost looked like she might yet make a contest of it. But in the end Fran was way too sloppy.

Aga did just about everything as well as she can though. Great volleying, great passing, excellent retrieving, and her shot selection was pretty much spot on from the 1st point to the last.

Big ask, but if Aga can keep that level against Vera she has a pretty good chance at the semis.

TheHangover

yes schiavone was awful and a world number 4 (which she isn't) shouldn't loose 6-0 6-

2 to anyone, but you have to give credit to radwanska she played amazing tennis she

is a joy to watch, so many touches, great at the net, great drop shots, great hands

in general and seems a bit more of power, players like that should stay at the top

of the ranking, not histeric ball bashers/unforced error machines taking minutes

between fis serve fault and second serve fault and not even boring blondies

moonballers embarassing at the net! PLEASE, GIVE ME MORE RADWANSKAS!

sammy01

fran was dire for the most part, and dare i say it played like a brainless ball basher :help:

aga kept everything tight and used her net/lob/drop shots skills to keep on top of fran whenever she looked like getting a foot hold in the match.

That has to be a joke, right? Aga is able to beat really good players only when they play absolutely terribly, like Schiavone today. Itīs not very probable that Vera will play that badly against Aga. Schiavone basically gifted the match to Radwanska, it was the worst performance of the year (even worse than Sharapova against Wozniacki).

If Fran played like at AO against Wozniacki, she would have won 6:2, 6:2.

Well, Fran made like 30 or even more UEs and still was fairly close to getting back into the match in the second set. In my view, Aga has no weapons with which she can harm Zvonareva (dtto Clijsters at AO -- Clijsters played really poorly and still won comfortably in two sets).

sorry but why everyone is talking of radwanska as she is a clown? she is really good and she has a really beautiful game which is rare these days, i think she can really go deep in this tournament, of the players still in the draw i think only clijsters is stronger than her at the moment, surely not the corpse of sharapova

If Vera plays like she normally does, I am 90% confident that she will win in two fairly easy sets. Vera is certainly far better from the baseline, has better serve, very good passing shots and lobs and she is quick.

Dude, you are something else. A lot of people who usually are not supportive of Agnieszka enjoyed her tennis today. It seems like you were able to see the match, but I guess you are not a tennis fan and can't enjoy the game. Trolling against a players appears to be more important to you.

Well...Aga played ok, great at times (especially this defensive game at the beginning of the set), but she would not win if Francesca was playing good. Francesca was just terrible - with such play she would lose not only to Agnieszka, but also to someone from 100-200 place in rank, whose play is average but with not so much of faults.

Aga remained in top15. No joy for you.

That's not a problem  She's having a good moment, having Top 10 results, so I can only say: "Congrats Agnieszka".
I'm worried about Fran's current shape.

But didn't Hian suggest that Aga will win in two easy sets (6:2, 6:2)? :bolt:

Aga beating world #4 6-0 6-2! :speakles::eek::hearts::D:woohoo:

First win against Schiavone. Finally!

Brilliant play from Aga. 16 winners, 8 UEs. :yeah:

Schiavone was bad, but really impressive performance from Aga.
Aga was focused from the first point. Her defence in game 1 of set 2 was amazing.

Just finished to see the match... Radwanska seriously didn't anything special. Just pushing and defending herself, and it was enough, 'cause Fran destroyed herself. So few winners from Radwanska, so many errors from Francesca.
Hope Vera demolishes her.

she had 16 winners in 6-0 6-2 match, that's hardly 'so few'
but nice try

With Francesca never trying to hit the ball back, 16 is really a low number :spit:

Actually no. If you opponent is making a lot of errors it becomes much harder to compile a lot of winners in a match.
