I wonder how many matches she can play without significant hinderer (:confused:) from her shoulder, I don't think this one match is any indication, like we've witnessed at Indian Wells.

In fairness Yakimova came into this match red hot, with 8 wins in a row, and 7 of the 8 wins were against top 100 standard players. On top of that she had dropped only one set in those eight matches. So this is someone who was playing very good tennis. That Kim beat her 1 and 1 is, I would say, is quite impressive.

Yakimova played pretty bad - you can't expect to win a match against someone like Clijsters when you make so many unforced errors.

But a quick look at the players Yakimova beat during that streak, Kudryavtseva, Bondarenko, Rybarikova, Kerber, Rus, Flipkens, and Rodionova and the manner in which she beat virtually all of them very easily indicates to me she was playing to a top 50, and perhaps even a top 40 standard. And when you beat a player playing top 50 standard tennis 1 and 1 you are doing a very good job. I think we can expect Kim to have a very good week in Miami. The shoulder does not appear like it is going to be a problem this week.

Kim her father had (skin)cancer. But years later (2009) he died of (lung)cancer. Her mother almost died and had an livertransplantation. So everething did'nt go well is'nt it?

kim could beat yakimova serving underarm and with a 0-15 handicap and it would still be 1 and 1. yakimova does nothing better than kim even if kim is not serving well. we will find out how the shoulder is when she plays someone who can return.

Yakimova has nothing to hurt Kim with, whether she's been playing top 50 tennis or or not. Not possible to gauge much about her shoulder until she plays someone who could at least challenge her if she is off.
