What a collision of personalities this will be! :haha:

Loved Conchi though when she was playing, and i'm sure she'll be well-equipped in trying to temper the beast (somewhat).

Intersting pairing, I actually thought her joining with Nicole Pratt would be great for her but I guess with her results being rather lacklustre in singles recently she may have wanted a change. Truthfully though, I think she's just taken some gamble playing a lot of high tier events and she's simply come up against better players.

Wow...didn't see that one coming!!!

Always thought Conchi would make a great coach, but never expected her to work with Nastya Rodionova...WOW!!

Don't quite know how well they will get on as people, but good on Nastya for taking the opportunity to work with Conchi.....she can learn a lot from her :worship:

She's not only going to work with Rodionova.

From Conchita's twitter:
I'm starting a job with tennis Australia helping some players like Rodionova and some others that are in the program, exciting!

She started off quite slowly last year though (and in 2009, IIRC) but I suppose it's quite difficult to play a schedule which will maintain your already high doubles ranking while trying to improve in singles.

I imagine Pratt will be still helping somewhere on the sidelines.

Must be difficult for these technically skilled veterans to coach these generic ballbashers.

Martinez was nothing short of disastrous for Shahar in '08.
For most players I'd wish the collaboration would work better for them, but in this case I dislike both the player and the coach, so I won't
I'd be very surprised if she'll do wonders with Australian players...

OMG, I wonder if Rodionova will start insisting on having her 'lucky ball' back, sounds like a whole new world of Nastya Wind-Ups is opening up!

Conchita had a temper on her own, she was not exactly all love on court.

But nice to see her back, she knows the game a lot and can bring a lot of purpose to Nastya´s game.

She was also in the Raymond/Stubbs support camp at Wimbledon last year. I was sitting in front of her in their first round match. ;)

Unless she has a degree in psychology I dont see how this is going to work. Nastya is a nut case.

Alright that is less surprising then! I was shocked that from all the players Conchita had chosen to coach Rodionova :help: I mean that's not the girl with the most potential, she's passed her time as well.
