After both holding serve, Hercog got broken at 4-5 to lose the second set, but regrouped well going up 5-0 in the third, and eventually winning the match.

so now that Arantxa and Masha have lost, the number 1 position comes down between Marta, Sabine and Polona.
- Polona will be number 1, if she wins the tournament.
- Sabine will be number 1, if she wins the tournament, regardless of the opponent in the final.
- Marta will remain as number 1, if she wins SF and Sabine loses SF or QF OR she wins the final against Sabine OR she loses in the SF, but Polona loses in the final to someone other than Sabine.

Marta and Arantxa may be good in singles, but they do not mix well in the doubles. Marta was dominating the first set, but in the second and third sets, Laura and Jarka took charge of the match and turned it around. Arantxa was hitting errors after errors and that's what cost them the match.
Who knew Serena would make such a big impact on the tour. :eek: Great play from both Serena and Ana. Kim was out there on her own today, Mandy just sat there (She didn't send :rolleyes:) But Kim still managed 6 games :rocker2:

After having a perfect start, leading 5-0 in the first set, they went away for the rest of the match and only won 4 out of the last 19 games. Embarrassing to say the least. Just like Maria v Caro.
Just like the first match, Serena and Ana let go of a one set lead.
It was a friendly match though, with smiles on all their faces. They certainly had fun.
