The bit at the end is a bit awkward, it's like the reporter is almost afraid to ask her a personal question, given what we know.

Tinnitus is hell. Speaking personally if I could alter just one thing in my life I would get rid of that horrible high pitched noise in my head.

Good for Jennifer and her mom trying to do something about this. Finding a cure would bring a lot of happiness to a lot of people. I know that.

It's good to see Jennifer again. :) As a sufferer of tinnitus, I'm glad she's out there bringing publicity to this issue. It's freaking horrible. :banghead: But you learn to live with it.

So, thanks, Jennifer. Walk on.

Nice to see Jen, she is looking great!

I wish the reporter would have asked her about her shoulder.
I wonder if she will ever be able to play WTT, or other exhos.
As a Hingis fan I feel pretty fortunate that she still plays an exho 'season', it's great to see her on court even if it is just for a few months...plus Davenport & Anna K. :hearts:

I hope Jen can play again.

Unfortunetly with the sirious nature of her injury it has really stoped her tennis playing career completely. she does not even hit and has not picked up a raquest in several years...its a tragedy its like when Julie Andrews whent in for routine surgery and left never being able to sing again...

i hope she sued the doctors...its really a disgrace!

I know.. It was pretty hard for me as well in the beginning but it really helped to try to block it.. First I listened to music for a long time.. Now I dont notice it much over the years unless its dead quiet.. Ohh I also sleep with a fan on.. Helps to block out noises.. Its so hard though..

I had never heard of this condition before at all. Doesn't sound nice at all, but as they say what doesn't kill you...
Tinnitus doesn't kill you, but it certainly can drive you crazy... I've had to endure that damn noise 24/7 in my right ear for several years... sounds like a kettle boiling in my head. A bit like this:

I'm not trying to trivialise it at all. My impression was that it's quite horrible but I didn't want to say that lest I offend anyone or make them feel worse or whatever.

I just want to commend you for surviving with it, that's all. I know how hard it can be to live with a condition like that on a daily basis.

Jen looks great. Sorry she suffers from tinnitus, that'll drive any sane person crazy. Dr. Weil has some good advice about it-

I wish you had it

Oh my god. Did you bother to read my subsequent post?

I thought that bizarre Vaidisova rant in that rep you sent me was a one-off thing but clearly not. I'm amazed at the way you rush to vilify me
without even giving any benefit of the doubt.

You have real issues Shvedbarilescu besides the ringing in your ears.

Err...can't recollect any bizarre Vaidisova rant. But yeah the bad rep was uncalled for and I actually sent you an apology before even reading this. If there is one thing that does make me very crabby it is not having my tinnitus understood. But that is my stuff I admit. Anyway, I sorry for this. I'd apologise for the "bizarre Vaidisova rant" if I could recall such a thing too.

I know ! As a long time fan of Jen Jen and knowing her situation an the circumstances surrounding it it's just hard to think she essentially was forced out but shitty surgery and bad medical advice ! She had another grand slam run in her I know she would have won at least another French or us open she was only 28 and full of passion and hunger and outside of Serena Venus and Justine clearly a favorite to win slams still. So yeah... It's just outrageous that she didn't sue those bastards .

Well she basically had the wrong surgery to fix something that for starters fist even require surgery and then had to have several other procedures to fix the problems that arrose from the first one.... Well that happens to many people but when u have to rely on ur body to support yourself yeah it's pretty shitty that it happened that way and so ya she should have sued they fucked her up to the point that her shoulder was too damaged to play or train for conpetition ever again

OK yeah that is a shame for sure. It was really sad to see her forced out of the game, I can only imagine all pain she went through.

I think everyone at some time has experienced ringing in the ear from a night out or whatever and it's quite annoying but having to live with it on a daily basis must be absolute agony. Do you ever get used to it and forget that it's there or is it just constantly driving you mad?

I've had 2 different pitches ringing non-stop in my right ear for the past 4 or 5 years. It rarely bothers me in the daytime when I'm concentrating on other things, but it's hard to ignore when you're trying to fall asleep at night.

Tinnitus is something you have to learn to live with

Yikes that's tough, I guess you just have to hope you'll wake up some morning and it'll be gone.
