Could of had been a qualifying match, both haven't been in a semifinal for a very long time!

Who will get in a WTA final? :)

Love this match up.
Both really had tough years. One of them being in a WTA final is just great! :worship:
Jelena's game will be difficult for Misa to handle. I expect Jelena to win this one, but i hope Misa will prove me wrong!
Hope it will be a great match

OMG... a semifinal between Dokic & Krajicek - how funny is that. One of them is in the finals for sure.

The only thing missing for a complete joke would be a bottom half semi between Lucic and Bovina :D

They both totally deserved it. They defeated seeds and played really well

Yep. Both absolutely deserve it as they have been the two best players in the top half of the draw without question.

It will be a very intriguing semifinal. But what will be much more intriguing is where both these players go from here. Is this the start of something or a brief respite for the pretty low standards of the last couple of years?

Infact, both girls were showing very promising signs prior to this event which actually tilts the odds perhaps a little bit more in favour of this actually being the start of something much better for both girls. But we will just have to wait and see.

Hopefully Dokic's serve and return don't both fall to crap. Off the ground she should have too much for Misa.

Hope she wins in 2. Think it might take three though.

If Jelena is a bit consistent off the ground Misa will have to serve like RenaGOAT.

I think Dokic will prevail.

Cool week for both of these girls, i hope one of them wins the title (if not playing Czefty).

Impossible to predict ANY match Dokic is playing, she can lose easily or win easily, itīs just impossible...

Good to see them both in a WTA SF - been a LOOOOONG time! If Jelena's serve doesn't completely fall to crap (which, unfortunately, is completely possible), rendering 20+ DFs or something I see Dokic winning.

Off topic: what the heck happened to Bovina anyway? She has just fallen off the map, and as I recall, was a lot more consistent than players like Dokic and Lucic.

I agree, and not just from the perspective of a Dokic fan. I think Misa is in with a chance, but she needs to serve well. She won't have much of an opportunity to work herself into rallies with Jelena's pace working against her.

On the other hand, Jelena might not deal with the pressure of the situation. It's been a long time between tour SFs for both players, but Jelena's version of an 'off-day' outweighs almost any player in the top 500. I'm sure Krajicek would take advantage of that sort of form.

I'm pulling for Krajicek and here's why:

Dokic has had a dozen or so chances to build on success, and she hasn't done it yet. I don't think she ever will again. Krajicek hasn't gotten many breaks or patches of good form, so I don't know if she can build on it or not. But I'd rather take the could-be-very-good player who MIGHT be able to build on a big results over the was-very-good player who WON'T build on a big result any day.

Good to see Krajicek back. I remember when I thought she and Erakovic would both be in the top 20. Could still happen, if distantly in the future.
