*5-4, 0-40
A BHDTL winner, an ace, 3 service points in a row to close it out.

Not exactly scintillating tennis, but it's a win. JJ was far too reactive and blew way too many game points. Good luck against Sevastova! :yeah:

I don't even understand why she is playing here. Really should have rested for IW.

Beating veteran blonde-mom with cute blonde-daughter is hardest thing in WTA these days , and Jelena just did it in straight sets

Troubles from 63 *52 to 63 *54 0-40 is unnecessary, but its hers trademark to complicate things :p

She is bold favorite to win this tournament no doubt, which will back her into TOP5 next week and secure hers TOP10 status at least till May.

Jaja is such a nice person - she brings her level down according to the player so that she doesn't crush their spirits.....

On a serious note, why is Bammer wearing the same darn dress for the last few years!! What is up with mothers not wanting to be fashionable (ehrrmmmm Fionna)! It's like once they give birth, they have to sacrifice all that is nice!!! Just dont get it!

After the interview, Jankovic asked that one of her autographed tennis balls be given to a lady in the crowd who had been hit with a ball during the match.

Five weeks ago she played like she didnīt even belong in Monterrey.

Probably cause the very thought of her losing to Bummer is deathly cringe-worthy :scared:

Even if she wins the title she can't get on no.5, but it gives her good chance to stay in top10 regardless of display at Indian Wells. :bounce:

After her SF in Dubai and Doha her top10 place is pretty safe now (at least until the FO).

She has 2250 points to defend till FO (If not counting IW 1000, then 1250) another 900 for FO  :

Miami (140) + Charleston (120) + Stuttgart (120) + Rome (620) + Madrid (250)

Some other top10 have big points to defend too and/or are not in good form.I think she'll stay in top10 this year.

Head To Head now 9-1 for Jelena. But Sybille won in IW!

Now will Jelena get revenge or tank her QF match?

I don't even understand why she is playing here. Really should have rested for IW.

Maybe Jelena wants to bomb out early in IW. Stupid to play here.:cuckoo:

Letīs not get carried away. The matches have hardly been more than light workouts so far.

Besides Jelena should have more than enough left in the tank, since the car was parked in the garage for the last six months. :tape:

This. Everyone else is dumb. Ya'll is so dumb. For real.

Look at Jelena in 2008; sure, she may have gotten older, but she still gets better the more and more matches she plays; winning another tournament, even a MM like Monterrey, will add to her confidence.

Considering she's had such a horrible post-Wimbledon 2010 and start of 2011, she might as well play now that she remembered how to.
