Well done Michaella. :yeah: Well-deserved win, and one that obviously means a lot to her. First QF in a WTA main draw in two years, I think (last one was 2009 Memphis), and a decent shot at a SF.

She was wearing a yellow or golden ribbon on her outfit at the beginning of the match (she removed it later on). Anyone knows its significance?

Losing to Misa is like an official seal of suckitude.

And even worse - I feel/fear that this has more to do with the Killer Whale getting gradually figured out by the Tour as a whole than to any actual dip in her form. There may be no turning back.

Not thrilled that Alisa lost this one, but I'm happy for Misa too - Krajicek probably could have been back in the top 100 by now had she decided to play some 25k's for easy points but she's mostly opted to play tour qualifying or the bigger challengers - Finally, she's scored a couple of good wins this season which will hopefully give her the confidence to carry forward.

Also excited because I think Anne has at least something of a shot against Krajicek (who she has beaten before) rather than Alisa. Either way, it will be nice to see one of them back in a tour SF, something that seemed very unlikely!

Although it seems Misa has been around a long time she's still only 22!
Hopefully she can get back to the top 40. :)

Alisa just beat Zvonareva 63 62 in Dubai.
She is tough to figure out, but maybe this loss will have her more ready for IW where she beat Clijsters last year

So, in the last 2 months, Alisa has:

lost to Peers, Halep and Krajicek...
won against Schiavone, Pavlyuchenkova, Zvonareva!

this girl is so unpredictable :lol:

Corswandt you've made numerous good posts lately, this isn't one of them. A couple of weeks ago Alisa was beating Zvonareva, Groth and Pavlyuchenkova. Two weeks later she is washed up?

I don't think so. Alisa is just very up and down. And honestly this tournament wasn't the worst time to have a down. I expect her to bounce back quickly.

As for Krajicek has been out of the top 100 now for almost three years. I say almost. She dropped out after Wimbledon 2008. Actually the way Michaella is playing right now I think come Wimbledon 2011, she will be firmly back within that top 100, so there is a very good chance she will fail to join the club of players who dropped out of the top 100 for 3+ years before returning.

Alisa = the most inconsistent player among the Top 100

There are players who are inconsistent from one good to a bad tournament, but Kleybs performances even differ from match to match :rolleyes:

MISA :bolt::inlove: sooo happy!!! We all know the story of JJ's mega-slump and she eventually got to number one. Kanepi had a horrible losing streak too and is now at least a solid top twenty player. Misa did too and finally seems to be recovering, so I hope she can keep it up :D.

Great post :)

It should also be noted that these are two players who are born in the same year, and really came up the juniors rankings around the same time, peaking at their career highs in 2003. Krajicek obviously made the move in the pros much faster than Alisa, but she's really only dropped off in the last while because of injury and personal issues.

Alisa as you mentioned, is a very up and down player, and that's something that may come to improve with more experience. I'd hardly be worrying too much at this point as to whether or not she's been 'figured out' (which I think she has been already, she's been making enough noise the last few seasons for people to know what they are going to get by now).

1) She lost to Misa;
2) Not long after that disaster vs Pennetta;
3) Unmistakeable signs that her opponents are becoming more aware of her weaknesses and of how to exploit them.

Krajicek was always a top 50 material, maybe even better. I guess she had lots of injuries. I hope to see her back where she belongs. She has a nice game.

People make seem she not talented but she great. I also happy for Michaella I happy see her winning lord know she need lol maybe she can take the title.
