Embarassing loss for Julia :( She could have gained some easy points from this tournee, and she lost to Pervak :tape:

Absolutely disgraceful loss.

Julia has completely lost her rhythm after randomly playing 2 clay events (Bogota and Acapulco) when she could've picked up some good points in Dubai and Doha. Now she has to start from zero again in IW/Miami. :(

Really terrible performance, not pleased with her results in these Latin American Events, especially with this one because I thought that the surface would suit her more. Though I knew Pervak would be tricky... However, opens the field for Benesova/Dulko/Wozniak :)

I could see this one coming... and following the score of the 2nd set you could just tell this was going to happen.

I think Julia's confidence is not there and strangely I think it was the DOUBLES match at the AO that she lost to Grandin and Uhlirova that has thrown her off. I could certainly be wrong - but maybe she feels she let Lisa Raymond down?

Then the last 3 weeks seems somewhat misguided, and though she didn't have much to defend it was a missed opportunity to keep moving up! I hope the confidence returns and think it'll take a strong performance against a Top player to get things going again!

She had a Fed Cup win against Zec-Peskiric, which gave Germany the deciding point and was seen as a mental breakthrough in that environment. That should have given her confidence too, so something bad happened thereafter.
