yeah, don't see Dinara winning this. If she can give a decent match, its fine.

For some mysterious reason, Dinara seems to be quite popular on this forum. In my view, sheŽs one of the biggest overachievers considering her level of natural talent. Anyway, I hope Lucie wins this match, since she will defend a lot of points in the clay season (aprox. 790 points) and IŽd like to see her in the top 30 in the near future. :)

Lucie in two sets. Dinara had problems with Lucie even when she was at the top.

If Lucie plays like she played in Fed Cup, Dinara has no chance

Fingers crossed for Dinara. The match-up isn't too bad, feed Safarova high balls out of her strike zone and she is helpless.

For some mysterious reason, Dinara seems to be quite popular on this forum.

She had next to no fans before she went on her 2008 claycourt rampage. Actually, she was rarely even mentioned at all in here. As far as WTAW was concerned, it was as if she didn't exist.

Seriously?

I think she is a bit more popular now since her terrible back injury and subsequent demise.
I was definitely critical of her when she was #1, but she was still top 5 material, even with the terrible chokes.
There is no way she should be out of the top 20, she should probably still be top 10. We can disagree on 'her level of natural talent'.

Anyway, Safarova has never been an easy match for her so this should be tough. Safina in 3?

Sadly, the H2H , Dinara's current form and Lucie's current form say Lucie will win. :o
But I don't know, something is making me believe than Dinara will pleasantly surprise all her fans by beating Lucie.:bounce:
Go go Dinara! :cheer:

Peak Safina lost a set to Lucie. Really don't see her taking this.

Based on their form + H2H, I'd say Lucie in 3. 63 57 62.:p

Not really a fan, but it would be nice to see Dinara back in business.
Still, I think Lucie will take this in two.

I agree. I thought she was overachieving when she just reached the top 15. When she reached #1 I was shocked and I think her mental breakdown and collapse since then is even she realized how in over her head she was. How do you feel comfortable when you are ranked over players who you have only 30% the talent level of.

I do hope Safina can get back into the top 30 someday which IMO is a more appropriate ranking for her true abilities at her best.

She isnt even winning matches on tour anymore hardly so of course she should be out of the top 20, in fact out of the top 100 where she currently is.

Agreed. When a certain player lost on her best surface to such a mediocre at best top 30 player, she knew her time was over and it was time to retire. :wavey:
