I think there was a lot of rain last year so they played a lot of the earlier rounds undercover...

I think the semi's and finals were all outside though...

I could just be getting confused but I seem to remember something about players (namely Elena who played last year hence my interest) having to re-adjust to the different court conditions...

:)

These courts seem to be like in the middle of some jungle.

If you had been to Malaysia you would know those trees are everywhere...

You see a heap of them as you come out of the KL Airport towards the City... :)

It's in the equestrian club. Next to it is a golf club. But yeah, there is a bit of jungle there.

Hearing jungle birds in the background during tennis matches is pretty cool. :)

The ATP event is at the Stadium Putra in Bukit Jalil, and they have a proper stadium with air-conditioning.

On the other hand, the WTA event is held outdoors in an equestrian club. There are a total of 4 courts for matches and practice, so usually 3 or 4 players have to share a practice court. Saw Kimiko training with Safina twice. Fran practised with Alisa today, and they were talking and joking (in Italian?) :hearts:

The weather is EXTREMELY hot in the morning and afternoon when it's sunny... it can be difficult to get used to the heat. I got tanned even though I was sitting in the shade most of the time :o

Wow I thought it was indoors  Getting mixed with the ATP event then it seems.

What the ATP use looks a lot better though

Apparently there are the worst possible conditions in the Earth to play tennis: 90% humidity and 40 degrees (worse than Pattaya).

It doesn't get that high. Around 33.

It depends where you go. And you should savour it. More trees are being chopped down these days. :o
KLIA is located in Sepang, not part of the city :p

longest trip..

Take the train. It's faster and cheaper. :)

It's way more than 50 minutes by car. :p
50 minutes would be taking the express train from airport to KL Sentral (35 mins) + 15 mins in cab. (providing the cab driver knows where he's going :tape:)

Pattaya doesn't even have an airport (or it's not used much). Narita is 70km from Tokyo.

Not a big deal, players are used to it. :P

That's not good :oYeah, because all airports are in the city centres. Such a pleasure to have a plane landing over your head.
