View Full Version : Of These Non-Power WTA Players, Whose Game Do You Prefer ???

SAISAI-GOAT

even though these ten players do not use much power, their games are very different ... and some are capable of doing more variety than others ... talk about what makes their games different than the others and vote for whose game you prefer to watch

Wozniacki -
Meusburger -
Dullgheru -
Jankovic -
Peer -
Zhang -
A Radwanska -
Errani / Vinci / Brianti / Oprandi -
Zvonareva -
Kirilenko -

I voted for Jankovic, Aga comes in second.

Didn't pick Kiri simply because I think she actually produces a fair amount of power for someone with such a small frame as hers, her volleying skills are drool-worthy though.

Vinci and Oprandi are soo different than Brianti and Errani:fiery:

And where is Dominguez Lino?:( Watching her succesful moonballing is pretty hilarious and I like it:lol:

Yvonne´s magic is also very nice to watch:p

 Too good this. Kirilenko is weaponless except against Radwanska.

Bepa, only because I love her backhand. Aga comes in second.

Meusburger :hysteric:

Actually I like Alex most, but I don't think that I'm impatient on this topic. Her game perfectly suits to claycourts with slice shots opening the field and making the point by her double back hand! :hearts:

She defends very well on the baseline and is able to be consistent most of the clay season. Nevertheless her second serve is mediocre and she tends to be overpowered by other players on Hard, so I often want to look the other way when I see her playing there... :o

And Caro is also nice to watch, though she had a lot of power today!

Why are the Italian players classified in one group if they have a totally different game, especially Errani?

here is my impression:

Wozniacki - the golden hair retriever simply the queen of this style of tennis ... great athlete, good anticipation, alot of topspin on both forehand and backhand ... trying hit more winners as she did today

Meusburger - solid counterpunch game like Jankovic or Myskina but not as much power

Dullgheru - master of the junk ball ... forehand slices, moonballs ... hard for her to win matches on hardcourt against ballbashers

Jankovic - counterpunch game but can flatten out her backhand ... like the sound of the ball coming off her racquet more than most of these other players :inlove:

Peer - have not seen her play recently :help:

Zhang - replaced Meng Yuan as the Chinese pusher :inlove: but has a much better game including a backhand that she can flat hit if she want to

A Radwanska - no clothing contract but most variety of all the players here ... can hit dropshots, volleys, slice backhand

Errani / Vinci / Brianti / Oprandi - in the shadow of Schiavone and Pennetta so don't really know the difference between their games ... seems like they are all very short, unlike Santangelo and Knapp, and none of them have much power :help:

Zvonareva - I now think her game is much more boring than Wozniacki ... solid shots from both sides but nothing special at all

Kirilenko - tried ballbashing but will always be a candidate to be overpowered by the real ballbashers

Difference between Oprandi/Vinci and Brianti/Errani...First group is much talented and their game are just joy to watch...Errani and especially Brianti are different...Although I saw Sara playing very nice tennis once (Against Ivanovic in RG)
They don´t deserve to be in the same group:(

Vera & Aga! Though I'm glad Jankovic is playing better too, she's not my favorite.

Good of you to rip that quote out of context. I clearly said 'a fair amount of power for someone with such a small frame as hers'. She is always going to have less power than the big and strong girls.

Also, for example, Hingis wasn't the most powerful but she wasn't weaponless, so what you said actually doesn't relate at all with the part of my post you quoted.

What about Niculescu?

Her game is very special and differs a lot from the others. Whether you like it or hate it!

I've said for a while now that I like watching Wozniacki. Its because her foundation is so solid.
She forces her opponents to hit lots and lots of winners, or you have no chance. And now Caro is building on that foundation. We might not see a finished product until she's 25 or so.
I also like Vera the way she played Safarova at the AO. All kinds of defense.

Game wise, Jankovic by far, i even love her forehand, but i can't really root for her.

I really respect Aga.
Her lack of power is really frustrating but she keeps winning.
I like her.

I've always liked Woz, never really liked her game though.
That said if she keeps hitting winners :p i might like the whole package.

Rooting for Sharah the fighter from time to time.

Uhh she also didn't have any weapons when Aga schooled her back in Stanford last year. :wavey:

In-form Jeca is a joy to watch. :hearts: Also love Aga. Zvonaryova is also nice to watch when she's on.

I used to really enjoy watching Bepa, right now I don't know why she's a lot more boring. It's just the same deep ball, over and over again, and the occasional amazing get.

I think both Zvonareva and Jankovic have too much power to be listed. I like to watch Radwanska, but her lack of power when trying to hit the kill shot is frustrating to watch.

Because she's in the poll, Zvonareva, though I think she has more power than the majority of these players. Same goes for Jankovic.
