One of the most dramatic matches this year :hearts:
If we don't pay attention to her movement, Daniela is a joy to watch :hearts: not only FH but BH angles! Vera's retrieving skills are impressive but it's too little for me. Too bad with the result

From what I saw at the end it was pushing from Zvonareva / choking from Hantuchova

Zvonareva didnīt do a single unforced error to 5-3 to 7-5

So gutted for Dani, letting those 5-2 and 5-3 leads slip in sets 2 and 3 really cost her. :sobbing: :sobbing: Even when she was leading 5-3 in the third, she was clearly feeling the length of the match and was running on fumes. If only she had closed Vera out.

Vera's tennis is even more frustrating than Wozniacki's (or maybe it's Caro's golden day on tennisforum, dunno)

Pathetic to lose against this pusher Daniela, should have steamrolled her.

I really don't know how I should feel about that one. I said to myself if Danka loses it's really not bad, she played a good week and you really have to go step by step. However losing the match in such manner is of course very depressing. Danka in tight situations in tight matches just just hits UEs or Moonballs, it's terrible :( Really upset right now and she proved once again that she's the real choking queen. And she really had a bad attitude in the end, it was clear that she would lose this one after being broken to 5-5.

As for Vera, I really can't say lots of positives about her. That was pushing at its best. I really want the 2008/2009 Zvonareva back :fiery:

But overall nice match, congrats Vera. ;)

This was sooooooo stupid loss Daniela:weirdo:
Unnecessary and heartbreaking, really, Daniela had all in her racquet, she has a great coach, who is always saying her that she need to stay focused on her game and not to be angry for errors she made before, but for nothing, because she need a new brain

Hopefully she will continue with her good results (because she is playing fine now) but itīs really not necessary to get furious because of the crowd or bad challenge (She is succesful maybe in 1 from 100 challenges:lol:)

Tiebreakova learned a new word though - Ajde !
Maybe her goal is now learn to support herself in all languages:lol:

Still very sad for this loss, there were tons of chances in third set:weirdo::awww::hug:

Could a match be any closer than this? :sobbing:

While Daniela was leading in the 3rd, I was pretty sure Vera was gonna win this.

Also, Doha is a far cry from that shitfest in Dubai last week.

Daniela  keep going

Vera :o not even close to last year's form!

Very mediocre match. May have had some drama but in terms of quality very so-so match. I blame Wozniacki who set the bar so high in her match that virtually nobody could've impressed us afterwards. Ah. One would think that players of just 2 spots difference in the rankings are of the same class, oh how wrong one would be.

But were negative, but not by much. I think W/UE was around:

Dani 48/57
Vera 31/35

But a great match. Too bad Dani got tired/choked towards the end. She played great for 2― hours, but at the end she really made too many errors.

Daniela's played about 6h of tennis in Doha while Vera just 1h +.
It's great effort from Daniela being 2 points away from the victory and had a lot of chances in the 3rd.

I don't think Vera won the match but it was Daniela who lost it.

Frustrating loss. Daniela was two points away from the match so many times. :bigcry:

She played well, not as well as against Vika, but she is officially in good form which I am happy about. She better keep this up.

Vera stepped it up when she needed to and Daniela got tired and sputtered out at the end. :( I watched all 3 hours and 10 minutes of this match from work. Its ridiculous that I just got paid for that.

saw the match until 3-2 in the last set, then had to go.
not thāt surprised, since, well, it s daniela.
still i d loved for her to win again against vera.

was really happy with her game though. she's not in 2002 form yet (still too many crazy errors), but playing better than in 2007 imo. promising for indian wells!
i just hope she can stay injury free and has decent draws. then the future is bright again :)

Indeed, Zvonareva did some serious pushing there, she did nothing, only retrieve, where Daniela would either hit a winner, or more common, a UE... sometimes Daniela struggled to get to the ball, but thatīs because sheīs slow as Davenport

I must have watched a half different match because although Bepa did a lot of defending and doesn't appear to be playing her best, she stepped it up at times and hit some good shots, one I thought was the shot of the match.
Some are saying Bepa didn't win it Dani lost it, well I wonder if the result was reversed and Dani ended up winning would the same people say that Dani didn't win it Bepa lost it:confused:

I think comparing the number of UEs and winners could be a good factor to determine who was controlling the game.

Only for the better part of course.
btw, tea is focusing on 52 weeks scale, not on 1 random out of the pattern match.

I'm a fan of Caroline but I think that overzealous fans do her much more harm on this board than any of her on court play ever will.

Oh there is a pattern. When it matters Caro gets beaten. Wozniacki has lost eight KO matches (plus Stosur round robin at the YEC) since last May, which is an incredible achievement worthy of a number one, but she was beaten at the FO, Wimbledon, USO, YEC and AO. Itīs almost an achievement to only lose eight matches in almost a year and not win one of the big five titles. :tape:

I thought I was pretty diplomatic.;)

We both like Caroline and want her to do well but it might be a good idea for you to be a bit more humble. I think that it says a lot that even other Caroline fans are calling you out. It's great that Caroline did so well against Pennetta but let's not overreact and pretend that she just beat Venus at Wimbledon or Justine at Roland Garros. It was a nice win but she (hopefully) has two more matches in front of her.
