View Full Version : Anyone else seeing a new improved Hantuchova?

I mean I saw her when she won the tittle earlier and in the match against Zvonareva. Exclude the chocking part she is really hitting the ball clean and hard :).

Can she make some damage in Indian Wells and Miami?

I notice she has more muscles this year. And very likely to use them to kick ass.

She choked as usual

It's not really a "new" Hantuchova, she has been top 5 before.

Feb 24th, 2011, 06:32 PM
I have noticed the same, and I really like how she's playing right now. :)

Same choker as usual, however her game has definately improved. But who gives a shit, a choker doesn't win.

She's doing well with her new coach, even if she couldn't pull a win today. More focused.

This is the 1st time since i've been following tennis that i've actually seen why she was a top 5 player.

i was impressed with her shots, she hit pretty clean :hearts:
too bad she's still a choker.

Mentally? Not yet. Or I believe she should have achieved much more.
Plus, AO 08 is just to hard to forget.

New and improved, not really. She's just picking up some good form, has always been able to play like this.

She loves IW and feels very comfortable there, but she needs to play well first otherwise her love for IW won't get her that far, just like last year.

Daniela definitely is trying to cut her UE's. She's more careful, using her BH effectively again and serving pretty well.

She's on a good way back to Top 20.

Yes, she has improved a lot, we hadn't really seen her as good as this for a couple of years. Her current results especially in a year which she lost in the 1st round of AO, makes her achievements more visible. I hope she continues her current form and gets back to top 10 after 3 years.

She always had game. It's definitely good to see her back on form. She really is hitting the ball very well, creating some good angles. Yeah she choked - but not in a horrific way.

She's just playing at a higher level, but there's nothing new in her game.

Her biceps is now bigger than her thigh was a few years ago.

Sadly, whatever it is. It's too late.

she's got more variety

Feb 24th, 2011, 11:17 PM
Her game has always been top 5, just finding it a bit more right now.

She's still playing the way she always has, she just seems to be laying into the ball a bit more.

Loving how clean she's hitting though.

Good Luck Danka.

Love the way shes played the last few weeks. Smart serving, setting up the points, hitting safely until she is ripping the clean winners. Her strokes on both sides have looked just as strong as ever lately too. She is just playing confident and inspired tennis right now. Its refreshing to see this again. But as all long time Daniela fans know she just needs to keep it up, throughout her career she has been horribly inconsistent, so we'll see if she can avoid any lapses in form coming up to her favorite tournament of the year.

It doesn't matter if you choke when it counts. And against players like Zvonaryova it's tough for her to get an unchokable lead. Pattaya was an anomaly as that match was INSANE. It's like they got crack addicts from off the street to be line judges. :o And I think the chair umpire was schizophrenic.

Feb 25th, 2011, 01:48 AM
That seems to be a pattern.

Every 5 or years, she'll make a splash for a couple of tournaments, raising expectations, then she goes back to hibernation for few more years.

 to myself. She has been able to save the tour.
