I canīt remember a stronger list than this. Maybe there have been in a french challenger or some other european 100Ks+H. But the field is

But there is still a lot of time to pull out and Iīm sure many players wonīt play there because they will still playing IW;)

Oh, I thought maybe it was like the second week of WImbledon or something and they'd all be looking for a short holiday afterwards too or something

Even so, why so many players are thinking on a plan B? Maybe holidays, as Ferg says

Groth really shouldn't play this Event as she most probably won't win it anyway :o But it's really a strong field. I mean it's on the Bahamas maybe it has a great location :)

:sobbing: at Katya B nearly didn't make the cut of an ITF-Qualy Draw.

who wouldn't like to go to Bahamas, especially with +H? :)

Many will withdrew before the deadline (next Tuesday), like always ;)

Itīs actually very well placed, Miami is not that far and why not take some bonus points before Miami if they will be OUT of IW?:p

Wonderful wonderful list. Almost all my favourites ranked outside the top 30 and inside the 80 are there. Slava, Monica, Magda and many others I like a lot. Super. :bounce:

Not in this case, I think. They all have priority 1 and are not comitting anywhere else. There will be many late withdrawals, however, from players that will advance into 2nd week of IW in singles or doubles.

Still, I think there will be bunch of withdrawals during next week.

Not second week. They must be out of IW before 3pm Friday (6pm Nassau time) or they will be withdrawn automatically.

Didn't expect it from Groth? She's the same girl who was playing $25K in OZ and NZ at the end of last year while being top 50 already
And Pironkova? Well, after her Wimbledon run let's not talk about her season so it makes perfect sense for her to play a top challenger.

Plus this is just in front of Florida coast right before Miami tournament, players get free accommodation in paradise in between IW/Miami so they don't have to fly back home (only to come back to the US 1 week later)....I mean, the question would be why there are players no commiting to this tournament :p

Self sense of belonging to the WTA level Itīs not like this is a WTA event. And you make it sound like players like this are the Zalhavovas of Premier/International events.

;). Although, about Jarmila after the wins she has had lately, I thought she was only going to play WTA. Guess I was wrong.

They want to make a pilgrimage to Anna Nicole's grave.

Actually, I'm in touch with two players from the list and they said they will go to the Marsh Harbour Airport to visit Aaliyah's plane crash scene and they'll leave some flowers and/or candles.
